....grumble....grumble....(faiz fan)....grumble...
|
So I watched the next 6 episodes ot OOO, and I'm kind of confused. If each Greeed only has 3 core medals, how do some have like 27 and 15? So far, the show is pretty interesting, the guy with the doll on his arm is weird. but the show is a little too silly for what I like in my Kamen Rider series. Nevertheless, I cannot wait to continue it tomorrow.

Anyway, the show is kind of silly, but it's still really good. I can't wait to hear your further thoughts ^^ |
So I've been watching Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, does that count?
On a more serious note, I've been watching Faiz because I had it on my hard drive. Not good. |
Are you saying that Faiz isn't good or something else?

You shoujld see the D Security commercial with the showa riders in it.

Just finished episode 24 of W. Dear god the W dopant guy is a creepster. He made me real uncomfortable. Also the Shotaro dressed like a goof & Phillip dressed in drag henshin sequence was hilarious. I am really having fun with this series.

I watched OOO episodes 11-24 today. Overall, the series has definitely gotten better, but now I am worried we are going to get stuck in a formula of Uva has a 2 parter, Lion dude (can't think of his name suddenly) has a 2 parter, back to Uva, etc. I am just amazinged they axed two of the Greeeds so early into the series. I really love the designs for OOO's complete blue and silver forms, but Tajador is just down right awesome. If there is a Figuarts of that form, I'll eventually buy it. On the other hand, I do not like Birth's design, especially with it being the whole capsule toy thing, but I guess it fits since OOO's stuff is a vending machine. Ankh is probably my favorite character at this point though, but I am honestly having a hard time really liking anyone that much. By this point in W, the show had so many characters that I loved, here, not so much. I mean, the Greeed are cool, but they have no where near the complexity or originality of the Sonada Family.
Lastly, I know it has been said that the series does not feature Foundation X, but I swear the scientist dude's puppet is dressed like a Foundation X member. |
Just finish episode 7 of Ryuki, its getting pretty good, but still not wowed by it, Scissors was alright, but pretty much a throwaway rider, so far Zolda seems to be a very interesting character, really liking Ryuki, though i am not as wowed by Knight like everyone seems to be, there's just something that is not clicking with me about knight, but his design is awesome

Well we just finished episode 32 of OOO and wow, that is all I can say, wow. I loved the ending to the two parter before with Maki's revelations, then the whole Ankh thing, and now, we have Erasers that are freaking bad ass. I also love the design of OOO's purple form.

It also helps that purple is my favorite color. If things go right, we'll have the series done by Sunday, and after the movies, can begin working on Fourze (my plan is to be all caught up by the weekend of Wizard's premier).
Oh yeah, and the 1000 episode story was freaking awesome. |
just finished episode 10 or ryuki, its really picking up and i am really starting to like it
I fucking love Kamen Rider Zolda. |

I'm about to do what I've been meaning to do for about a year and watch W.
|
All right, so first up, we watched episodes 33-36 of OOO tonight. They were quite good and the shit is starting to hit the fan. I cannot wait to have the series done on Friday. Then Sunday will be spent watching the three movies along with starting Fourze.
Next up, I watched the first 8 episodes of Kuuga. I have to say, the story of the show has already been great. I love the plot, the characters, but the fights leave something to be desired. I mean, I loved the bike stunts in the fourth episode, but the fights against the Grasshopper Grongi felt boring and lacking energy. Maybe it is because there seems to be a lack of energetic battle music, but something is definitely missing. I mean, I love his blue form because I love that he uses long weapons, but I just wanted the fight to end so the story could pick back up. Also, the video quality is absolutely attrocious and the fansub group (MFC or something) did not spell check or even bother to subtitle what the Grongi are saying nor the locations. It sucks that Nihon is only on episode 12 because I would definitely watch their subs over this group. Complaints aside, I look forward to watching another batch of episodes tomorrow. |
I've started Fourze. I hope to catch up in time for the finish and the start of Wizard. I'm on episode 9 now. Everything is really quite shallow, but you kind of expect it from it taking place in high school. Despite that, I'm really enjoying it. It's a fun show.

The Grongi speak their own language and aren't meant to be understood. There are translations available (the language is basically just a simple cipher) and MCS has released a few episodes with optional Grongi subtitles. When the show originally aired, though, the viewers had no idea what the Grongi were saying. It's something that's designed to add an air of mystery to the show and, honestly, if you do know what they're saying it spoils a good deal of the plot pretty early on. |
That makes sense, but that still does not excuse the constant spelling errors and the lack of subtitling the locations.
|
Watched the first two episodes of W. Overall first impressions are good but that T-Rex Dopant was really painful to watch. And that was BEFORE it turned into a giant CGI monstrosity.
|
Yeah, that was one of the worst dopant costumes, but I've seen that arc 4 times I think now, and it's kinda grown on me. The CGI thing was bad, but I don't know if they do less ambitious CGI later, or if it just gets better.

No one is complaining that they subbed Kuuga. He's complaining that they really should've caught the spelling errors. |

PS Spell check is 2 words. Errors happen. There's no need to nitpick it all the time. |

I think it's worth pointing out that MCS was working on revised versions of the Kuuga scripts. They just got backburnered like pretty much everything else they're working on (besides Stronger, which is almost totally farmed out these days).
|
I watched Kuuga episodes 9-24 today. This series is really shaping up nice, but I'm starting to get a little bored with the Grongi's "How many can you kill without doing this" game. The story is well done and there have been some great moments of tension. Oh, and I also think their numbers are off. Like, they have fighting Number 31, but the next episode it is Number 36. Uh... what? How did they even get to the 30s already when I am in the early 20s?
As for the subs, they have definitely improved. However, there have been two episodes that have some really whacky formatting as if the screen is shrunk (12 and I think 21) and the subs suddenly got smaller. But like I said, they have improved a lot since the early episodes so I give them props there. I just wished they had the graphics that Nihon uses, but that is not important, it just adds to the mood. Oh, there was one thing I did absolutely hate. A freaking clip show. A CLIP SHOW, 17 EPISODES IN!!! What the hell?! It was pointless and did not need to be there. |
Yeah, they skip a few of the Grongi numbers. I assume the idea is to let the audience know that Yusuke is still fighting between episodes.
|
I am only at episode 10 of Kuuga...do we ever understand what the hell the Grongi are saying?

just started episode 21 of ryuki
This show is so damn awesome! and Ouja is easily my favorite rider, goddamn he's fantastic |
Well, we just finished the final episode of OOO (or I guess episodes since we watched the Director's Cut version (what's missing from the non-DC?)) and overall, it was a pretty good series. It had some great fight scenes, some really good ideas, but compared to W, it was a let down. Most of the characters really did not seem to change throughout the series except Ankh and Gotou, and they really kept Hino's relationship with Hina to a bare minimum. After the advancements we saw between Accel and Akiko, I was really hoping they would start developing these things to their fullest extents, but, they decided to just play it safe again.
I also felt that Maki becoming the main villian of the show really took away from Uva, who went out on a whimper. He was the one villian that kept growing as a character and felt like the main villian of the show, only to have the spotlight taken from him on a very lackluster playing field. I just feel the writers did not really know what they wanted to do with his character after the first half of the series, but needed him to stay in existence until the end. Instead of a grand battle like we got with Mezuru and Kazari, he just gets transformed into a Final Fantasy boss and that is it, nothing more, nothing less. ON the other hand, the ending itself was satisfying and a good ending to the series. I am glad Ankh did not get resurrected through some random means just to be a crowd pleaser (despite him being there as a spirit) like they did with the ending of W. Lastly, Satonaka is freaking awesome as hell. The first time she appears in battle to help Gotou was kinda cool (loved her outfit there), but then when she just comes out of nowhere on the escalator was down right badass. Overall, I definitely enjoyed the series, but I felt they played things safe because of all of the different risks W took throughout its run, making it a weaker series than W. With that said, on Sunday we watch the movies and then start Fourze. |
I started Ryuki recently. I've been putting this off for sometime now. Partly because I liked Dragon Knight and deep down I'd start comparing them by accident. Partly because I saw the first episode last fall and didn't really like what I saw. Why am I watching it? It came after Agito and I figure just go in air date order for now.
I'm on episode 8 now and I know what my problem is...in one word: Shinji. What a moron. While he is not the only stupid Rider out there, Shinji is different in that 1) he's not funny and 2) I cannot believe he's still alive. Anyways, Knight and Zolda are okay, need to see more before judging them. Scissors is a waste of a character just like in DK. No surprise. I'm going to try and last until all the major Riders appear in hopes that the abundance of Riders will compensate for my hate of the title character (it worked for Naruto). PS For the record, the fighting is still cool and this show still has some of the best Rider designs. |
I've been watching Kabuto and Agito, just finished the Dark Kitchen Arc in the former. I like them both, hard to say which one I like better right now.
