I've always really liked Yugande from Megaranger, even if the series he's from is boring. Then again, I haven't really gotten far enough into a lot of sentai to really see their villains.

Except for some occasional jokes in Toqger, the only real parody is Akibaranger.

Why does a series have to be self aware to be considered a parody?

Well thats kind of the point of a parody. Its a work of fiction that is self aware of the shortcomings of something else and uses that for comedic purposes.

And Carranger and Akibaranger are the only shows that are completely structured around that. While Akibaranger is self aware of the nerd culture in japan and uses that as the base for its jokes Carranger is a parody of sentai in general and all the tropes that franchise has.

And I dont really think there is any other show besides those two that could be considered as an all out parody on Super Sentai.

He seems far happier doing his own thing. It would be cool to see Rider or Sentai with monster designs on par with Metalder or Black RX again, though.

The common trend lately has been to gather _____ to make the big boss stronger to take over the world. Fear, darkness, negative feelings, pollution, emotions, data...that is not uncommon.

Not necessarily. A parody doesn't have to have the characters mucking in front of the camera and pointing out how silly something is.

A parody doesn't have to be a comedy nor does it have to lean on the 4th wall, which I feel is something that's lost. Carranger could've taken the common aspects and tropes Sentai uses without putting them to comedic effect. It does run the risk of the creators missing the joke and just playing things too straight, but a parody doesn't have to be a self aware and referential comedy.

So basically Power/Rangers?

This. An example is the original Ninja Turtles comic. It was taking the ninjas in New York plots of Daredevil and the mutant teams of X-Men. It was taking the absurdist nature of super hero comics to an extreme while playing it completely straight. That is a form of parody.

And I think only in a crossover. I don't know what KR has to gain by bringing over sentai. I think that toy sales are double of what sentai does and the ratings are better. Whatever they are doing is working

I thought the weakest aspect of Sun Vulcan was how they kept ties to Denziman. On its own, I think Sun Vulcan could have been a little better (it was an extremely dull season) and the connection was more of a trope rather than a plot point. I think it is better to have seasons stand on their own and have the established VS/Gokaiger universe.

I don't understand the question, but Jetman, Dairanger, Kakuranger, and Megaranger were all seasons that were seen as being good. I know I enjoyed them.

You can say that again. I'm currently watching it and most episodes are so dull I don't even feel like watching more....
