Surprised it's not the Strike given SEED's popularity.

Out of curiosity, how many arcs have aired since the Metal Gear Ray one of IBO? I'm trying to figure out if I can watch another batch of episodes without leaving off on a cliff hanger story.

Well I haven't really waited this long as I watched the Mobile Armor arc like 2 weeks ago.

I imagine it wouldn't actually walk under its own power, but be hooked up to a puppeteering system (likely mostly underground) so it can look like it's strutting around, like a big animatronic.

Makes me wonder if they'll be able to engineer some sort of transforming gimmick on the 1/1 scale unicorn so it can go from Destroy mode and back
|
Well, considering it's a statue, so they don't have to make it articulated or anything, there's a real possibility of them being able to pull something off there.
...I think that would more than make up for taking down the OG. Seeing it transform IRL would be so cool. |

So how many episodes are left to IBO?

Not downplaying that it would probably be difficult, but... well, let me put it this way. Every giant robot should sink into the ground with every step and turn their pilots' internals into mush. It's called ground pressure, it sucks and ruins childhood dreams. |

So looks like we're getting an anime based on the Twilight Axis light novel:

Never heard of Twilight. How sparkly are the Gundams and does it feature a emotionless female who pretends to suffer from depression to get a guy?

A lot of people having been saying IBO season 2 has been dissatisfying , but I feel like it's kinda the point. This past episode makes me realize this series isn't gonna end like a lot of other Gundam series.
|
Really? I've thought it was a hell of a lot stronger than the first season was.

The only thing I'm dissatisfied with is that Mika seems barely effect by Orga's death.
Now see, I always figured Mika was some hyper-emotionally-stunted weirdo who processes emotions and things differently. There's a lot of evidence of this, and ever since he lost most of the use of his body he's gotten even more distant. Plus, he very much used Orga as a crutch, sort of enabling him to enable Mika. He really should've snapped with Orga's death, but he seems totally unbothered by it. I don't know if something dark inside him is still coming, but it retroactively makes everything I assumed was him boiling quietly inside to him just being a vacant robot with no secrets or surprises. Like seriously, I've been waiting for him to snap, and Barbatos go go limitless again, possibly killing himself in the process, and this was the perfect time to do it. But now I guess he won't. I honestly don't know how this show will end, but it seems increasingly unlikely it will be how I wanted. |
We finally watched episodes 39-44 tonight and oh my lord, Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
Why, god, why? I'm surprised it took this long for Naze and Amida to die, but I did not expect Lafter to die like THAT! That was cruel and awesome at the same time. Loved the way the other dude went out too. Sadly though, this series is becoming quite predictable. The identity of the masked man was so freaking obvious that I'm surprised they waited this long to reveal him. I do like the stuff they are doing with McGillis, as this is what I bet things would have been like had Char taken over Zeon during the original show, but again, some of it has been quite obvious. The battle scenes have been outstanding though and the music is getting really superb these last few episodes. I'm liking this fourth incarnation of the Barbatos (although I still think the original form is the best). Can't wait to see where it goes. Now my only decision is do I wait until the final episode is up on Crunchyroll on Sunday to watch 45-49 or do I watch it before then? Ugh, first world problems! |
I'm confused about something. Why does Crunchyroll say episode 49 of IBO doesn't air until tomorrow? I thought 49 aired last week?

But not on YouTube for some reason. At least, not in North America...
I just have to ask why on that one, what's the point? |

Also, I am the last person you should be talking to about stealing a show. |

Well IBO's over can't say I'll miss it.
Hopefully the next show is less: http://i3.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/...w_the_edge.jpg |
Oh boy, where do I start? We watched the last 6 episodes to IBO and they were quite good and a lot I did not expect to happen happened. I won't go into details due to spoilers, but as a whole, this show was fantastic. I will say that if I were to compare the two seasons separately, I did think the first season was better than the second. While not bad, the second season didn't feel like it had any sort of direction to it as if the writers didn't really know what they wanted to do. In fact, Kudelia was pretty much pointless throughout the whole thing until the last ten minutes.
I also got a laugh at how Barbatos' name kept getting longer and longer as the series progressed. I still think the original form is my favorite version of the Barbatos, but the Lupus Rex upgrade was pretty badass. It was also great seeing in the last few episodes returned to showing how armored these mobile suits were as I felt like they forgot to do that in the middle of the season. The ending itself was great as the guy who I thought was going to be a straight up villain was not so and it was nice to have an actual epilogue as the second half of the show instead of just having someone say in the last 30 seconds of the show, "The war is over, let's see what the future brings," or some sort of crap like that. The Bael was a pretty kick ass Gundam too and might be my favorite mobile suit of the show. My favorite character was hands down Naze. On one hand it was sad to see this show go, but on the other, I am glad it is over with because it was a solid one. It probably won't break my top 5 once I have time to digest everything, but it will most likely make my ninth or tenth spot. Now the decision comes down to whether or not I buy the show on BD because I do want to watch it fully dubbed (despite not feeling JYB for Orga), but is it going to be worth it when I've got a ton of other Gundam series on BD? Well, that's a decision for another time. |
I found season 2 much stronger than season 1. I won't deny it threw some characters/plot points to the wayside or built things up that didn't come to fruition, but the characterisation was far stronger than that of the first and that was what was important to me. There was considerably more focus on the secondary members of Tekkadan, and I came out of this caring about them all while in the first I struggled to remember half their names.
It wasn't perfect, but it was a very solid series overall. |

And I found the characterization as a whole weaker especially Mikazuki who makes Heero Yuy look like Naruto by comparison. |
