Recently finished building the RG Gundam Astray Gold Frame, my first P-Bandai kit. Just a straight build with panel lining and full decals. I have to say, the gold doesn't look that bad. The only issue I've found so far is that the top half of my elbow joints aren't strong enough to support the full weight of the bazooka. Luckily the bottom half of the joint is tight enough so it's not a big deal. Overall a really good kit besides how easy it is to knock the V-fin out of place that is. lol.

So beautiful...

...I think I figured out why I didn't like SEED upon my attempted rewatch it was the Japanese voices particularly Kira's. The Dub is so much more pleasant to my ears.

And is it just me or is the original animation less wonky looking than the HD Remaster?

Oh yeah, Kira's crying in the Japanese dub sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

SEED is one of those rare instances where the dub is actually better than the native language it was produced in.

Eh, it's debatable. The problem with the dub is the script is so wooden. I actually hate both voices for Kira, but the English voice of La Cruset does such a phenomenal job that I normally watch the show in English.

Sunrise has announced that Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny are getting a brand new English Dub by NYAV.

Cool but why?

Dunno why but some say there new seen in remaster with no English dub lines. So it the escaflone re dub all over again

Yeah I just find it weird they're dubbing the Remaster instead of just rereleasing the old series with the original dub like they did for 0079,Zeta and I'm presuming Wing.

Still, will be interesting to see what Kira,Athrun,Lacus,Shinn and Lunamaria's new voices will sound like.

Maybe they will give it a good dub this time around? Do you think they will keep the same voice actors though?

No, Kira and Athrun have new voice actors and I assume it's the same for others.

Kira's new VA previously voiced both Ein Dalton and Io Flemming.

Also JYB will be voicing Dearka.

And the new dubs are being done by NYAV Post who did the Thunderbolt,Unicorn and the Origin dubs for those curious.

What's the best way to watch Thunderbolt? I notice that there is a 8 episode series and two movies. Which one do I watch first?

Nope. The first movie take the original five episodes, puts them into a 70 minute movie, and adds about 10 minutes worth of footage to them.

Episdes 6-8 are brand new and the movie version won't be released in Japan until Dec.

Just got done watching GM's Counterattack, and already I can say it's a definite marked improvement over Island Wars.

A little too short for my taste.

And I was really hoping Reiji would have reactivated the Star Build Strike Cosmos to save Sei and for them to fight the Psycho GM together in an epic three way showdown instead of him just taking over the Star Burning and curbstomping it.

I also feel they totally blueballed us on the Sei/Reiji fight.

On the other hand the Z'gock Amazing lived up to it's name and now I want a Z'gock, China got to have a badass moment and Mao's fight was not only funny but also managed to homage both V and G Gundam at the same time.

That's the problem I find with these Build Fighters OVAs: they really should be an hour or 45 minutes long. But at least it didn't feel as rushed as Island Wars was.

Also I Know the feeling, Build Fighters really does know how to get you pumped up for building and buying Gunpla...I want the Psycho GM now.

MAn that's awesome! I really need the Star Burning Gundam to add my line of Build Burning's.

I really do enjoy the fact that Star Burning is the prototype before Build Burning, the whole time I was waiting Reiji to go all "JIGEEEN HAAAAOH!!!!!!" :lol

Intended to air in 1990-91 it was never picked up for broadcast.

Some Gundam anime got release in the US before Gundam Wing. War in the Pocket did got a obscure sub title release on VHS in the early 90's (You can still find VHS copies of it on Ebay).

Before Doozy Bots, there was also a American Hollywood Gundam movie in the works back in the early 80's (http://www.zimmerit.moe/when-gundam-came-to-hollywood/).

Yes. For one thing, because I owned the original Gundam movie VHS tapes well before Wing premiered. Secondly, I also watched 0080 before Wing premiered.

There was Gundam stuff being release in the US before Wing as stated before. I remember collector shops had Gundam kits being sold via imports from Japan years before Wing exist. Not to mention in the 80's, you had people watching Gundam through tape trending.

Wing was the first Gundam show that most casual people knew about, but bigger anime & manga fans knew about Gundam for ages. Turn A Gundam was my first Gundam show back in 1999 (I seen images of Gundam before 1999, but knew very little about it).

Anybody got Gundam Versus? I have the game and it seems fun enough but I suck hard at it.

Hey guys, I'm looking to paint a gunpla for the first time and need some advice. I'm usimg tamiya paints and primer, to do touch ups and replace the stickers on the guison rebake, but my paint doesnt seem to adhere after I thin it. I've already washed the parts. I need to know how thin my paints should be and any other advice you may have.

I assume your hand brushing?

The paint is suppose to be the same consistency as milk. Apply thin layers and sand. Sanding smooths out the surface in preparation for the next layer. There could also be a chance you may have made the paint too thin.
