Never mentioned it before, but I like how bull's gun weapon's final form is just some hand held rail gun.

Shinji's job continues to be monumentally weirder than the crazy monsters living in the mirror that he fights every day. Aha, the crayfish-catcher thing DID come back somehow.

So the punk looking dude who I thought was bull, was actually Lawyer guy's butler. More importantly, however, Shinji's job takes him ans the reporter chick to investigate the existence of a frog with a mohawk! Found by the same old man who captured the weird crayfish. I'm figuring that the giant smog factory may have something to do with mutating these animals.

Yui's mom continues to prefer Yui seeing Shinji to Ron, much to Yui and Ron's chagrin. Ron seems to have moved back into aloof douche mode, when they were sorta friends episodes earlier.

Oh so the goofy mutated animal plot does tie in weirdly enough! Lawyer dude, or Kitaoka is representing the pollutinous pharmooceutical company. Kitaoka seems to be the womanizing type. Shinji, of course, thinks he's full of bullshit.

Kitaoka decides to befriend Shinji by taking him to a mooseuse. Guess Kitaoka's only in the law business for the mooney. No hint of a hidden heart of gold somewhere, though. So far he just seems to like living it up.

Yui really doesn't approve of Shinji coming to live/work at the restaurant. Ron hilariously disguises himself as a diner to immaturely critique Shinji.

Now that Ron's proven himself to Yui's mom, she believes they all should live together. ...Well, alright, her intuitions never wrong!

It turns out the old man finding the mutant animals was a fraud. I'm...why....what is this subplot?!

Shinji continues to shadow Kitaoka for his newspiece, this time they're chilling in a pool watching some girls doing what I can only describe as frolicking around in the water. Shinji questions Kitaoka's sort of selfish lifestyle and Kitaoka gets so pissed that he makes Shinji leave. Guess he cudn't handle criticism.

And woah, the old fraud gets killed. Huh, he seemed to comical for that. But it leads to Shinji fighting the zebra monster...and the bull guy/Kitaoka sneak attacking him. Man, what a cowardly moove.

Bull vs dragon! Bull seems to be getting the better of Shinji so far. Ron continues to insult Shinji back at the restaurant for him being late.

Um...so the glasses girl from Shinji's job goes to the carnival....and gets kidnapped. Alright...

I don't know why Shinji has to lie about fighting monsters, it's not like he has much to hide from Yui and Ron. Unless he's just embarrassed of his defeat.

Ron won't be getting any sleep as Shinji's snores obnoxiously, reminding me of myself. Shinji's boss finds out about Shimada's kidnapping and sends Shinji to investigate. Ah, this scene is played less comically than I expected.

Though I really should've, I didn't really expect a monster to randomly appear and kill the kidnapper.

Aaaaand Shinji inadvertently gets blamed for kidnapping. Of course.

Everyone seems to have hilarious reactions to it. Yui's mom seems to be the only one to believe him. For stupid reasons, but still.

Shinji's boss is acting like a complete weirdo about it. As expected. Reporter chick wants to get a headline. As expected. Ron is being a complete prick about it while Yui feels bad. As expected. Ron does have a pretty hilarious line here though. Shimada remembers nothing, so looks like Shinji's guilty for now...

Meanwhile Kitaoka's getting his beard trimmed by his butler while Latin chanting plays in the background. Alright. His butler seems nicer than he does, handing some random little girl who stopped by candy.

Ron and Reporter chick stop by to pay, Kitaoka to represent Shinji, who initially refuses. Well, Kitaoka may be be a prick at least hes not a sociopath on Scissor's level. Definitely more of a threat though.

Kitaoka has a moment that reminds me of the first Spider-Man moovie, when he recognizes Shinji is Ryuki by his injuries. Speaking of revealed identities, Ron and Kitaoka find out each other's a Rider as they go to fight the latest monster. Ron seems to be doing rather badly and then Kitaoka just shoots him while he's down. Because of cowrse, these rider's can't cowexist with eachother.

That said, Otoya makes a pretty awesome villain - his personality works both ways!

Ren is pretty much always in aloof douche mode. Also, you remind me of that wonderful scene with Shinji when he calls out Ren's name. :lol

"Hey you! ... What was his name? Ron? RON! ROOON!!"

Otoya can be an awesome anything, Kouhei Takeda may not be at Takeru Satoh level (that guy can do anything) but he gives one of the best performances in the franchise, the guy is simply loaded with charisma.

No but after that I found it to be a god awful drag to the finish with no pick up... Ever...

Faiz 01 rewatch and Faiz 02 first watch.

I love how this plays out more like a horror movie, than your typical toku show. The action is still good, really well staged, but there is an emphasis on the horror and atmosphere and it really sets it apart.

Unconventional seems to be what it is going for in a lot of areas, I dig that. Like a Rider who doesn't slow down the show asking questions that will be answered regardless, or don't matter or how the show focuses on things for longer, and much more detail, so we have an emotional connection and can see the ramifications of action.

Everything else was hard to comment on, because it was so broken up. Like the creepy motorcycle dudes, or the Engirsh Smart Brain advert, or the way this show kept introducing us to characters only to kill them off.

Sexiest Driver ever. Pretty damn sexy suit and transformation as well. Exceed Charge! The monster suits are really great as well but what the hell are the villains in this show, like golem zombies?

Open your eyes for the next Faiz? Come on, man.

Now 38 episodes into Black and I have to say this show has picked up MASSIVELY since Shadow Moon came into it. Better plots, a sense of urgency, the Gorgom priests are now useful and Moon himself is an absolute badass.

Continuing my catch up on Wizard after not caring for it, and now that its over I want to watch it. :lol

On 18- Beast just came in. So why was everyone not liking Haruto because of his seriousness and Beast being the slapstick comedy secondary? I love this combo so far. I mean Shunpei and Rinko dont do crap anyway so why not add more people to the cast!

But seriously, Im loving Haruto as a main Rider and Beast seems cool so far.

I think a lot of it is that people were used to the standard Den-O pattern of goofy main/serious secondary and the role reversal threw them off a bit.

It might be having just watched Decade and needing a breath of fresh air, but Haruto is a great Rider, knows what the hell he is doing, and isnt dependent on the side cast. Something that I felt was getting out of hand where the Main Rider cant do squat without two or more "helpers" while he is in battle.

I couldn't stay away from Rider watching. I started Kuuga (on ep8 currently), just to maybe take things in order for once. I like the show, the dated look of the video is awesomely reminiscent of an era past so that's cool. The body count is freaking insane though. They weren't playing around with establishing the bad guys as bad, were they? I'm not sure what it is, but something about Godai kind of bugs me. Actually, it's the actor more than the character. I can't pinpoint what it is really, though. His general appearance kind of vaguely reminds me of Nobou a bit, broadly speaking.

No, it's not just Decade. Haruto is legitimately fantastic.

Yes he is, I havent seen any reason so far for the way people dont like him, I guess its like you said, people got used to the goofballs since Den-O, even though Ive seen most of those series, and I love those Riders and shows, Im glad Haruto isnt that crazy.

I just don't like Haruto. Plain and simple *Shrugs*
I like Shinji, I like Kenzaki, I like Tendou. It doesn't have anything to do with Ryotaro or silly characters. I'm just not a Haruto fan.

And Nitou, I think you said once you enjoyed. I'm with you completely on not liking Haruto, Matrix. I swear to you the only reason they wrote about Haruto nevr smiling or enjoying himself is because the writers and producers knew that he couldn't emote anything on screen. And they despretely needed someway to explain it away other than "Why did we make him a Rider?!"

I loved Haruto, but thought Beast was absolutely awful until the last five or ten or so episodes where both characters got completely rewritten. Neo Beast was fantastic, Neo Haruto sucked.

Now I've finally gotten around to finishing up episode 24 and started episode 25 of OOO.

I love how patient Cazali was and how confused he was when watching Eiji prattle on about love, and I liked the debut of the Shauta combo. Granted, my favorite combo so far seems to be Tajador, but still.

After TaJaDor, at least. I haven't seen PuToTyra in the show yet.

Pretty much all of Eiji's forms went underused, the gimmick of the combos and swapping parts of himself for different powers was a really great one, but the sheer number of parts that were only used once was almost as ridiculous as how the dinosaur form was used for like half the show, while other forms were only used a handful of times. TaJaDor especially surprised me, in how shafted it got, considering it was probably the most important form, storywise, and if I remember correctly it was only used like four times over the course of the whole season.

Wow, episode 47 of Black has to be one of the all-time great Kamen Rider episodes. Just brilliant all around.

The Black/Shadow Moon dynamic is why everyone remembers this series and deservedly so, its just a massive shame that it had to start so late into the show.

Just watched ep4 of Kiva, and learned more about Otuya. He was a freeloading womanizer, but he was a freeloading womanizer who had a good heart :lol

Though how the woman he rebuked became a Fangaia I don't know yet.. Something I'm hoping they'll explain.

Kuuga 15: I think I finally figured out what bugs me about Kuuga. There's a disconnect between the actor and the suit actor. I don't know if it is because Godai is lacking any characteristic motions or what, but I just don't buy they're the same person as I do with the later series.

that is one of my many problems with kuuga. They dont match up physically anyway but Godai doesn't even try and bridge a gap. He never mentions, or reacts, to the suit stuff and thanks to super healing his injuries never cross over.

The show's whole ending arc, which starts around 46, I think, with the death of Bishuum, is fantastic. The show drops the episodic structure and it becomes this really dark and engaging serialized story. Prepare to have your heart broken at least twice.

That's not a unique problem to Kuuga. Agito, Faiz, and Kiva all have that issue, too, to an extent. I think Kiva is the worst, though, with shy, emo Wataru turning into the aggressive and often brutal Kiva.

I just finished Kuuga 16 the other day and really enjoyed the more development with Ichijou and learning that the things Yuusuke grabs transform back after he does too. I love the bug armor for his motorcycle too it just looks awesome. I don't really see the same problems with Yuusuke and the Suit actor honestly he feels like a guy that is super excited about being Kuuga that anything that comes with it wouldn't phase him. All the Kamen Riders have really different styles I love that some of the quiet ones have the most aggressive styles like Wataru and Kagami.

Watched Faiz 17 and have to say this was my favorite episode for Takumi, great lines and great play off between him and Yuuji going through similar yet different circumstances. Also defeating two Orphenochs when they are double teaming you is quite badass.

Yuusuke and Takumi are quickly becoming some of my new favorites. However my favorite Riders list is way to freaking long already and I've only watched 6 series all together and about 34 chapters of the Spirits manga.
