I finished the latest 'Non Non Biyori' OVA. Can't wait for S3. :)
'New Game!' is pretty alright so far. Feels rather "seen it before", but I think it's well done. |
I watch episode 1 of Tiger Mask W and it was pretty cool. I never seen the original anime due to lack of proper subs. I think this will be a Fall 2016 anime I will likely try to tune in for. I also can't compare it to the original since I never seen it. If you like fun action shows that are not moe or if you like manly testosterone shows like Kinnikuman (Ultimate Muscle in the US), Jojo, Fist of the North Star and Toriko, I suggest to check out Tiger Mask W.

I dropped 'Welcome To The N.H.K.' after three episodes. It was... I wasn't feeling it, IDK. Did I stop too soon..?
I'm heading to 'Kiss X Sis' next... Wish me luck. ;A; |
Kiss x Sis is one of the worst anime that I've ever seen. It was so bad I didn't finish the first episode. I like to watch the famous bad anime and see how awful they really are. Kiss x Sis is unwatchable to me, I would put it on my top 5 worst anime ever list.
Meanwhile I watch Domain of Murder for the first time tonight. I had this anime for over a year now and I only got it for 50¢ at a yard sale. I'm glad that I bought and watch it because it was a pretty solid crime mystery anime. It's only 50 minutes, so the story may not be 100% perfect and you will find some plot holes. I really enjoy the cast of the character and the main villain. The animation is pretty good and the dub is decent too. What I like about the anime is the dark and gritty feel of suspense. This anime feels more realistic compare to other anime around that time period (Release in 1992 in Japan). Domain of Murder is pretty under rated and would recommend it to people who like hard boiled crime and detective stories. It's not a perfect title, you do get a good cast of characters with a realistic and suspenseful story. I consider this anime to be another hidden gem from the past. Grade: B |

Kiss x Sis just had really bad humor that was unfunny and painful to sit through. I thought I can enjoy it on a so bad it's good level after seeing the Black Critic's guy review of the anime (He hated it so much), but I coun't. Not to mention, incest is not my cup of tea.
My top 5 worst anime would be Kiss x Sis Rahxephon - I could not finish episode 3. It made my head hurt. Doomed Megalopis - Three and half hours of my life that I will never get back. Kimera - Awful animation, terrible writing and bad English voice acting that makes the Bible Black English dub look like Shakespeare. Aquarion (The first one) - So boring with paper thin characters. I give up after four episodes HM (In no real order): Ark IX (Ark Nine) Judge Sleeping with Hinako Skelter Heaven Psychic Wars Urotsukidouji 5 (Worst anime ending ever!) |
Catching up with the Yokai watch anime.
The newest dubbed episode was a nice Professor Layton homage. |

Seems like this new one is a direct sequel to that 60s anime given that Miss X says Tiger Mask is the name of the traitor from half a century ago pretty much. Also ol'man Takaoka was that Tiger Mask's ally and also Yellow Devil during that time. From what I heard Tiger Mask 2nd which came out during either the late 70s or mid 80s is a sequel to the manga oddly and not the 60s anime. The ending for the original manga and the 60s anime differ too. spoiler in the manga Tiger Mask ends with him dying randomly by getting hit by a car, in the 60s anime he wins and then leaves Japan |
I saw The Girl Who Leapt Through Time for the first time yesterday and I thought it was great. I would love to see it again for the second time, but this time dubbed.

Wicked City - With Halloween close by, I decided to re-watch Wicked City seeing that I haven't seen it in years since I was in High School. Wicked City is one of my favorite anime films and I still think it's a fantastic movie from start to finish. While the movie does have flaws, I think the movie really has great action, suspense, characters and awesome world building.
I thought the main characters are well done and I really love the duo between Makie and Taki. Renzaburo Taki is also a really cool character and Gregory Snegoff did a great job on voicing him in the Streamline dub of the film. I like the anime better in sub, but the Streamline dub for Wicked City is pretty good. Giuseppi Mayart is also very funny and is one of my favorite characters in the film. I admit that the villains could have been better, but I still enjoy them. The story of a hidden demon world from the human world and having a organization designed to protect the relations of both worlds in secret is very well done in my opinion. Yoshiaki Kawajiri is one of my favorite anime directors of all time next to Satoshi Kon. What I love about Wicked City is the world in the movie and how interesting the story is. Nothing in this anime feels boring at all and the anime does a great job on mixing suspense, atmosphere and action into one. The anime has gore, but there is not much gore compare to Ninja Scroll, Berserk, Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend or Higurashi When They Cry. Yoshiaki Kawajiri knew how to not over shadow the plot and characters without adding too much blood and gore. The graphic horror and pulse-pounding action really makes Wicked City feel like no other film of its time. The animation in this movie is fantastic and holds up pretty well after nearly 30 years later. The animation really captures the dark mood and spooky atmosphere. The anime also has great monster designs and the other characters also look great too. Also the movie can have humor as well and the humor is pretty funny. Yeah this movie has sex and nudity, but I didn't care. Having sex and nudity does not make something bad if it does not over shadow the plot. The movie still had a lot of great action and suspense to make up the sex scenes. Wicked City is like a mixture between Blade Runner, Evil Dead and John Carpenter's The Thing which is why this movie is so awesome. Overall, Wicked City is just an awesome movie. It has a great blend of action, horror, and drama. If you like horror anime or demonic anime like Devilman, I suggest to check out Wicked City. This anime is NSFW, so view it at your own risk. Grade: A |
Yeah, I liked Wicked City a lot. The live action was pretty batty, too. I don't know if I'd say it was good but, you should see it if you haven't.
I'm watching Blassreiter, Yuki Yuna is a Hero (with my girl - a few scenes have made me "parent cringe" but, it's okay depending on the kid!) and just about to start Tentai Senshi Sunred. |
I remember hearing about the live action film of Wicked City. Probably check it out one day. I did catch up with Tiger Mask W and this show is a lot of fun. I highly suggest for people that like over the top and fun anime to watch Tiger Mask W. It may come off stupid and silly at times, but I think that's the point of the anime so far.

Well I'm finally back to Haruhi, just a bit further than a third into the second season.
I always knew people were just exaggerating, but damn, Endless Eight is so good. Who knew four episodes of literally the same thing could manage to not bore me as much as this has. I expect that to continue for the remaining four episodes. I've fallen pretty behind on my seasonal shows. Haven't even started WIXOSS or Applimonsters. And a good chunk of the shows I'm watching are no good. Which is unfortunate. I can only hope that they pick up eventually. Especially ClassicaLoid cause that shit is gonna run two cours. But as far as the actually good goes, Watashi Motete Dousunda is just fantastic. Like, I'd heard of the manga before, and I thought it was gonna be a really trashy show, based on premise. But honestly, it's really good, for what I was expecting, and like, overall. It's still kinda trashy, but it's also about 100 times funner than it has any right to be. It's great. I have way too much fun while watching it, which is a good thing. The only other show I'm watching that is actually good is 3-gatsu no Lion, though I'm still not super on-board with the artstyle. I've only seen one episode of Occultic;Nine, but it seemed interesting, tatas aside. Other that those I'm watching Nanbaka and Nobunaga no Shinobi, which are both pretty boring. The latter less so than the former since at least that's only like 4 minutes. I want to like Nanbaka but it's just not entertaining. There are some parts of it I like (mostly the Warden) but I'm just not feeling it. But at least these are only one cour, unlike ClassicaLoids. Which honestly. Snore. So much snore. |
I watched 13 episodes of Soul Eater last night. Yep, it's a lot to take in. Since it's going off Netflix in a few weeks, I might as well watch the show now lol.
There's a lot of things I like about this show. For one, I like the squash and stretch nature of the artstyle. Lord Death to me is a perfect example of this. I also like how the show can easily transition from comedy to action without necessarily messing up the flow of a scene. I've never seen a show that can do something like that before. Maybe it's because I watch serious shows, but I've never seen any physical comedy in a show with serious plot and characters work out this well. Rider hasn't done it and anything else I've seen that I can remember does it. I also love how each pairing of a weapon and meister has it be male and female. I like this idea a lot, it promotes platonic relationships that aren't "lame" or "uncool" as seen by some parts of society (at least western ones). It also, to me, makes the soul resonance move even more cool, as characters have to get past being different genders in order to resonante. I was worried at first after the introduction episodes that some of the characters were going to not really change all that much throughout the series (mainly Blackstar and Death the Kid). Blackstar had a great episode of development with Tsubaki, and had some great moments in the Excalibur episode too. Blackstar's voice is annoying, but he's 13 and I think he's a straight up parody of Naruto so of course he's going to be over the top. Also, Tsubaki is best girl. She's compromising, elegant and seems like an older figure to Blackstar. Death the kid's gimmick of breaking down when things aren't symmetrical is annoying, and hopefully he becomes more of an actual character in later episodes. He's the most powerful of the weapon and Meister groups, as stated by the show, but I guess they had to give him this annoying gimmick to make sure he doesn't just come in and destroy literally every villain. Maka to me is probably the most interesting character to me at the moment after finishing episode 13. She's very strong willed, and I like that, but she's got her own issues too. In episode 1, she has issues form her dad cheating all the time. That episode was the only time it really caused any sort of relationship strain on anyone else besides her father, but I'd love to learn more about it. That kind of shit is really demoralizing for young women and it sucks, but she doesn't completely hate men entirely. Just when it's a very deep betrayal to her trust. Some nitpicks I have about the show are minor, but I feel like are important. Mainly it has to do with how characters of certain genders are treated exclusively. What do I mean by that? Something I observed is that only the male characters of the weapon/meister groups are not able to compose themselves to fight effectively. Blackstar and Soul being idiots in that episode when they're fighting Death the Kid, Death the kid's symmetry problem, Blackstar not being focused and yelling shit all the time. All of the characters have some flaws ( except Liz and Patty as far as I'm aware ath the moment), but the women (mainly Maka and Tsubaki) all have emotional/physcological ones that hold them back in some way. I just find it weird how in a show that has platonic relationships as one of it's main concepts with the way battles work and that the men and women are put into more stereotypical boxes. Something else was that when the characters are in their weapon forms and show their faces, like the Oprhenochs in Faiz, only the women are naked. The men (Soul and Deathsycthe) are shown wearing clothes. Weird dichotomy there. |
What I finish watching this week.
Demon Prince Enma - I just finish watching this anime just in time for Halloween. While I never read the Dororon Enma-kun manga or seen the other Enma-Kun anime (There was the newer anime from a few years ago), I do love stuff from Go Nagai. I thought this anime was great from start to finish. I love the characters and the writing. Every episode had me on the edge on my seat and not a single episode was boring. I love all the personalities that the characters have. The Kapa was probably my favorite character in the show for being so funny. The supporting cast may be weak, but they all handle the parts well. The plot may seem simple with the idea of group of people exterminating demons to keep the town at peace, but there is way more to the anime when you really watch it without spoiling much. The animation was great expect for the CG. The CG looks like it was made in 1997 and this anime came out in 2006. I also hate how this anime is only four episodes when I feel like that this anime should be a 26 TV episode series. I also admit that episode 3 could have been better since it did felt a bit rush. Overall, I highly recommended this anime for Horror anime fans, Go Nagai fans or anyone that likes stuff with people exterminating monsters. Grade: B+ Appleseed (2004) - I haven't seen this anime since I was in High School like 10 years ago. I had to watch it for a homework project for my 3D Modeling & Animation class. The 2004 Appleseed movie is pretty good, but I felt like it could have been better. The 3D animation is solid for a movie from 12 years ago and I remember how this movie was a pretty big deal back then. I like Deunan Knute and she is a great main character, but I felt like her development with Braireos was pretty weak. We could have been given more details about their lives and backgrounds. I also feel like the supporting cast was pretty weak too and I didn't think the villains are that great. The plot twist was poorly done and the ending was pretty much sucked. However the fight sequences are great and the soundtrack kicks ass. Overall, Appleseed 2004 is a pretty good movie but could have been so much better. I hope the other two movies are better and I will probably re-watch the 1988 OVA film to compare the two later. Grade: B- Since it's Halloween, here are 13 horror anime for people to watch Halloween if they want any suggestions. The list is in no particular order (I'm going with the ones that I've seen): - Hellsing Ultimate - Boogiepop Phantom - Parasyte - Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (80's film is good but I think the second movie is better in my opinion) - Perfect Blue - Devilman OVA's (Devilman: The Birth and Devilman: The Demon Bird) - Ghost Stories (It may not be scary but the dub is great to watch) - Demon Prince Enma - Mononoke (I remember this anime features some really good Yokai stories) - Pet Shop of Horrors - Ajin: Demi-Human - Blood: The Last Vampire (It may not be a great anime but it gets bonus points for taking place on Halloween) - Higurashi: When They Cry - Bio Hunter (Every Halloween party needs a fun trashy movie ;) ) |

Yeah, Hellsing is one of those anime series that I like to watch better in English because of the setting and voices. The Japanese voices are great too, but I feel like Hellsing is one of those series that works better in English in my opinion. Same goes with Afro Samurai, Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon, Gunsmith Cats, Trigun and Baccano seeing that they all have a Western theme setting.

I'm on the same boat when it came to.seven deadly sins due to etc in fictional historic Britain by it old name britania and I only watch it inot English
|
Tonight I'm going to watch Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade because I haven't seen it since I was in the 8th grade. I remember this movie being awesome, so I hope it holds up!

Anime recommendations welcome since I am depleted after September.
So far only watching Tiger Mask W. |

I've watched the first 7 episodes to Escaflowne this morning and good god I forgot how amazing this show is. I really need to watch it the way I used to instead of what I have been doing (not watching it). The new dub is pretty incredible, although I do have some criticisms.
First, Merle, Hitomi, and Van are perfect. They sound exactly like their Japanese counterparts which is incredible. They also got Dilandau's voice right as he constantly changes his tones of voice at the drop of a hat the way Dilandau is supposed to. Also, there was no way Vic was going to outdo Nakata's voice for Folken, but the man is doing a pretty stellar job thus far. On the other hand, I'm not a fan of Sonny Strait's voice for Allen. He isn't bad or anything, but Allen is a very soft spoken, smooth talking man. Sonny isn't, and as such, his tone sounds forced at times as if he is trying to keep his voice low key. I do agree with Sonny when he told me he wanted Crispin Freeman for Allen, as that man would have been perfect for him. Also, Clinkenbeard's voice doesn't full fit Millerna. Oh, the it is weird how they say Dilandau's name, but it is accurate to how it is pronounced in Japanese, so whatever, minor nitpick. Overall, I am very happy with the new dub and glad I participated in the Kickstarter. Now I need to leave so I can continue the next disc. |

So far Tiger Mask W has the testosterone department covered but I am still open to more as well. |

Thank you I needed this. I guess I will try to sort out which ones I want to watch from all the stuff you listed above. |
No problem, I hope you enjoy my suggestions. Here are some anime movies that I finished recently:
Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade - I haven't watch this anime in the last 12 years and this movie is fantastic. The animation is amazing for a movie that came out in 1999. Everything looked solid from start to finish. Jin-Roh shows that some anime from the 1990's can have animation that still holds up today (Along with Cowboy Bebop, Perfect Blue, Ninja Scroll and a few others). What I love about this movie was the powerful story that this movie had. The story, themes and execution in the movie are stuff that I feel like can really work with today's audience with riots, terrorism, and military brutality seeing that this anime deals with similar themes that is going on in today's world in real life. This anime is filled with great characters and drama that it really had me on the edge of my seat. Seeing the scene of the frightened girl only to see her commit suicide was a very powerful and dark scene. This anime did had slow pacing, but the movie gets so much better later on. Overall, this movie was amazing. This movie may not be for everyone because it's a very dark, gritty and realistic type of film. I feel like every anime should give this film to watch when they are in the right mood. Grade: A+ Lily C.A.T. - I watch this anime movie on Halloween and I remember seeing this anime as a kid on the Sci-Fi channel like 20 years ago. I remember seeing the part where the Cat transforms and I end up turning off the TV. This anime gives me nightmares as a five-year old kid. How does Lily C.A.T. hold up on its own? Well, this anime is nothing too special. The animation is not bad for a 1987 film, but it could have looked better. I do think the cat design looked cool and the background art is very well detailed. Everything else looks pretty bland looking. I do like the music and the atmosphere was pretty suspenseful. The characters are one-dimensional and the plot is pretty much Alien, John Carpenter’s The Thing and even bit of influences from 2001: A Space Odyssey mixed into one. I watch the English dub because that's how I first saw the movie as a kid and I wanted to do something nostalgic for Halloween. The voice acting is not too bad, very cheesy by today's standers. For a dub produced over 20 years ago, I think it's an okay dub. I give credit for Mike Reynolds as Captain Mike Hamilton because I felt like he play the role very well. Everyone else in the dub sound meh. Overall, Lily C.A.T. is an average film at best. The whole movie was pretty forgettable from start to finish. I can only recommend it to people if they 80's anime or cheesy B movies. There are better Horror anime out and you can skip this one. Go watch Alien or John Carpenter’s The Thing instead. If you do like this anime, buy it in your local bargain bin for $5. Don't waste buying it for $15-$20 on Amazon or Right Stuf Anime. Grade: C- Project A-ko - I remember watching this anime when I was seven years old back in 1998. I remember seeing this anime on the Sci-Fi channel and it was around the time when I was starting to know what anime was. How does Project A-ko hold up on its own? Project A-Ko holds up very well with the animation and humor. The plot is pretty simple and does not make a whole lot of sense, but that's makes pretty much what makes this movie such a fun ride. This anime is filled with over the top humor that made me laugh hard nonstop. The characters are memorable and likable. This anime has a great cast of characters and all of them are funny. This anime is a parody of all the classic anime between the 60s and 80s, but you don't need to watch those classic titles to enjoy Project A-ko. The animation is very good from a movie that was released 30 years ago. The animation is very colorful and has a lot of great detail. The combat choreography is also fantastic too. All of the fight scenes are not boring to watch and all of the fight scenes will have you on the edge of your seat. The music is also fantastic as well. The English dub is done pretty well seeing that the hammy voice acting really works for the humor and story in my opinion. One of the better dubs from Manga Entertainment UK in my opinion. I would say that my biggest issue with the film is that the villains are rather shallow. Overall, Project A-ko is hilarious to watch from start to finish. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes 80's anime and wacky comedy. Grade: B+ |
I finished Escaflowne today. God damn it was such a great series and the dub just kept getting better (sans Strait, which I already talked about). I'm curious to see how the dub is of the movie, but at the same time, I'm also afraid because the movie is simply not very good.
|
Tried out Gatchaman Crowds episode 1. This is essentially a full reboot of the Gatchaman concept into being something fairly un-Gatchaman - very Kamen Rider-esque with some Death Note (magical book as henshin device), Yuki Yuna is a Hero and even Kinnikuman on one level.
The designs are great, as are the colors - it's a unique style and gets pretty psychedelic. I haven't watched enough to know if I'd consider it good - it certainly isn't original, has a manic pixie girl as it's central figure and, if you're a Gatchaman / G Force / Battle of the Planets fan, not at all what you'd expect - but I'm a henshin hero dork so... hard to hate. |
Stick with it - the first few episodes are very misleading to what the series is REALLY about, which is actually a lot cleverer. Personally I found the second season to be a lot more engaging, but the first has merit too.
Hajime takes a lot of getting used to, and after 2 seasons I still don't quite think I'm there yet :lol |

Still contemplating which one to watch from the list that Guyver compiled for me since a good number of them I have watched yet are worth re-watching. |
My Anime & Manga club at my community college, did a movie day and we watch Summer Wars, Millennium Actress and the original Appleseed movie from 1988. Summer Wars is still a great film with amazing animation and good characters. Not much I can say about it that has not been said by everyone else. Summer Wars get a B+.
Millennium Actress is amazing movie and I'm surprise it took me so long to see this movie. Satoshi Kon makes near perfect movies in my opinion and I feel like this movie is as good as his other movies that I've seen (Perfect Blue and Tokyo Godfathers). Fantastic animation that still looks amazing even 15 years later. I admit that the non-linear characteristic can be confusing at times, but everything else in this movie was amazing. It's too bad the movie didn't get any Oscar buzz in 2001. While I like Spirited Away, but I do think Millennium Actress was the best animated movie of 2001. Overall, Millennium Actress is fantastic if you never seen it. Millennium Actress gets a A+ The 1988 Appleseed is a pretty enjoyable movie and I like it over the 2004 remake. I haven't seen the original movie since I was a kid when it was on TV over 15 years ago. I don't think both Appleseed movies are great movies, but I like the characters better in the 1988 film. The character relationship between Deunan Knute and Braireos was done better in my opinion compare to the 2004 remake. I also find the villains in the original film to be more interesting than the villains in the 2004 remake. I also enjoy the music a lot in the original and the animation is pretty good for its time. The original movie may be cheesy and has some goofy humor which is why I like it. Masamune Shirows manga from the 1980's are known to be light-hearted and campy from what I can remember. Overall, the original Appleseed movie is a fun movie and is worth checking out if you like cyberpunk films from the 1980s. The original Appleseed movie gets a B. |
We finished watching Escaflowne tonight with the brand new dub that Funimation did and overall, I am quite pleased with it.
Hitomi - Caitlyn Glass was absolutely perfect for Hitomi. She nailed the character right out of the park and she sounds exactly like her Japanese counterpart Sakamoto. Van - Aaron Dismuke also pulled off his Van with great perfection. He has the same gruff sound in his voice as Seki does in the Japanese track. Merle - Alexis Tipton was just as stunning as both Aaron and Caitlyn were. It was like they just turned Otani's voice ineto English at the flip of a switch. Allen - This is where the dub got a little iffy as Sonny Strait was no the right choice for Allen. He isn't terrible or anything, but Allen is supposed to be a soft spoken smooth talker, something which Strait is not. There were times where it sounded like Sonny was forcing himself to keep his voice lowkey and I'm pretty sure he broke out of it a couple of times. I enjoyed him, but I'm sure there are a few others that could have done better (such as Crispin Freeman, who he even said he wanted to cast). Millerna - Colleen Clinkbeard has some extreme range as I didn't hear her voice for Luffy or Gohan at all in her. At first I was a little unsure but she grew with the character, giving us a really solid voice. Dryden - There's a small sense of style that makes it hard to compete with Juurouta Kosugi's take on Dryen, but Eric Vale did a magnificent job on the character, bringing in his own style he has gained as Sanji over the years, while also keeping that scruffy tone in his voice that Dryden has. Folken - Jouji Nakata voices this traitorous strategist in the Japanese version and that man is like the greatest Japanese voice actor ever. No one in America can ever top his voice. To my surprise, not only did Vic Mignogna manage provide a truly impressive Folken, but the only time you could tell it was him was when he was portraying the younger, innocent Folken. He might not be Nakata, but the man definitely showed off his talent here. A truly remarkable performance. Dilandau - Okay, this is where things can get dicey as Dilandau is my favorite character of the series, so I have high expectations from him. Minami Takayama voices him in the Japanese track and she plays the character's ever changing psychosis to a T. The original dub failed on massive levels as I never found Dilandau to be the demented psychopath whose personality changes without any forewarning, it just happens. Joel McDonald, a voice actor I am not all that familiar with, pulled off the character with utter perfection. He had every mannerism down. The constant mood swings were there and they sounded magnificent. The only thing he lacked was the female tang in his voice (for obvious reasons), but he is by far the MVP of the new dub as far as I am concerned. This man deserves an award for his outstanding work on this character. Although, the pronounciation of the character's name is kind of jarring to hear, but you start to get used to it after awhile. Naria and Eriya - I always group these two together given they're twins and both Michelle Rojas and Felecia Angelle pulled this duo off greatly. Emperor Dornkirk - Jeremy Schwartz was on par with Masato Yamanouchi as Zaiboch's mysterious emperor. All of the other third string characters and Allen's crew are great, so no complaints at all. As someone who absolutely loves the Japanese version of this series, it is so nice to have the option of watching it with an incredible English dub that compliments the Japanese track with adamant precision. This is what I have always wanted from the English track but never got before. Funimation put a lot of hard work into redubbing this show and it shows with nearly every casting choice. Not only was it well worth experiencing the new dub, but I have no regrets for participating in the Kickstarter as it helped provide quality entertainment. It's just a shame the new dub couldn't fix the crappiness of the movie, but oh well, it would take a miracle to do that. Speaking of which: Escaflowne The Movie - After the near perfection that is the series, how did this movie go so wrong? Instead of classic Final Fantasy we get Dynasty Warriors, which should have made for an interesting concept, but the execution is just so terrible. The pacing is all over the place as the movie can't be bothered to slow down to actually let the characters develop or the audience actually digest everything that has been thrown at them. Hitomi is now some whiny little emo who wants to commit suicide, but then is afraid to die and wants to change Van from being the same way. WTF? The final battle with Folken is anti-climatic as is the ending to the movie itself. Allen is barely even in the damn thing, but the worst goes to Naria and Eriya who have been reduced to bar singers. Oh, and instead of having some pretty kick ass fight choroegraphy given the nature of the samurai style, the characters now have Force abilities. WHAT?! Dilandau is the only thing in this movie that seemed on par with his TV personality while everyone else is a mess. As a whole though, this movie is just a mess. It feels like they had an idea for a new Escaflowne series but were told they could only tell it in movie form, so they cut 26 episodes down to the length of five episodes. Very disappointing, but at least the music kicks ass. The animation is smooth too, but there is barely any color in it and the fun is just sucked away, leaving nothing more than a lifeless heap of crap. I'm going to give it a 5/10. |
I need something new to watch 8D

Android Kikaider: The Animation (You don't need to see the original TV show to watch the anime) Black Lagoon Cowboy Bebop Cyborg 009 (The 2000's TV series is the one that I would suggest to check out. Kamen Rider is almost like a spiritual successor to Cyborg 009 if you ask me) Gunsmith Cats The Guyver (The 2005 TV series is the best one in my opinion) Hellsing Ultimate Karas Mazinger Edition Z: The Impact! (Watch episode 2 first. Episode 1 is the last episode for some reason) Ninja Scroll (Great action film) Overlord Shadow Skill Triger & Bunny Trigun Ushio and Tora (The newer anime is great!) Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (A stand alone sequel. Consider to be better than the first movie) World Trigger Comedy: Baka and Test (One of my favorites) The Devil is a Part-Timer! El-Hazard Excel Saga FLCL GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka Medaka Box Mob Psycho 100 Okami-san Sgt. Frog Slayers Slice of Life: Azumanga Daioh Bunny Drop Croisee in a Foreign Labyrinth (If you view it as slice of life) Genshiken His and Her Circumstances School Rumble Not sure if you seen these already or not |

And it does. Starting with episode 2 completely defeats the purpose of it. |
