Considering the DVD's will have a Japanese audio option I guess it's a straight translation.

I was told that the dub for Tri is very faithful to the Japanese version. Tri is made for the older fans. So no more censoring things, corny jokes and no more Saban/Disney added scores that were added to replace the original Japanese one.

Damn now I wish there was more swearing in the japanese audio so I can hear the dub voices tel someone to go fuck themselves.

Why? Digimon is a series mostly market to kids. I know Tri is made for the older fans, I think dropping the F word would be too random. Damn and Hell is mostly fine, but I highly doubt Digimon will ever have the F world ever be used.

It think it's more morbid fascination than anything to do with quality.

I will say this: it's definitely in the top four tri. movies so far.

Less facetiously, I do think I liked it more than the last two, or at least it felt more eventful. Still a fair degree of drama I could have lived without, but eh.

Weird rapey not-Gennai docks the whole thing a lot of points tho.

And Patamon going ultimate was a load of nonsense. This was not in any way a Patamon/Takeru focused movie, so it came across as pretty random. Totally breaks the pattern of him getting to evolve last...

So Tailmon evolves into Ofanimon, which is laaaame, but it's Ofanimon Falldown Mode, which means it's the bad end evo. Hopefully the right one is Holydramon. I really can only hope.

The ORIGINAL dub name was Phoenixmon, from back with the original Digimon World, and associated games... I don't know when they reverted to Houohmon, but I'm pretty sure it was either circa Frontier or Savers.

Hmm, alright then. I'll admit I just based that off the fact that that's what the Digimon Wiki uses (since that one's localized).

Guess they're just being consistent...in their inconsistencies. Eh.
