Who deals with scalpers? The Gokai girls have started trending upwards again, even on Mandarake. Jungle has, by far, been the cheapest place to get them recently. But, those have been their category B figures and some people do want unopened items. That means they're going to have to pay premium prices. Personally, I'd rather pay a better price for a used figure (as long as it's complete) than drop the required cash on a sealed figure.

Jungle just charges the 5% paypal fee. Now, if you're actually planning to spend over 5000 yen, then Mandarake is the better option.
That 5% can get kinda hefty with larger orders from Jungle.

They are not bad. But they are not amazing. It depends on what your expectations of them are. The shoulder limitation sucks, but some people can deal with that. If you can get them cheap enough, I say go for it. I got Red for $14 shipped. Not planning on blue/yellow. Only picked up Red for the deal.

people selling them for $90 (and certainly anything above that) are scalping them, demand being what it is, i dont blame them, but thats a serious jump in price and that is my definition of scalping. 2 years later im very wary of any seller that claims to have an unopened figure this in demand.

I totally get that some collectors are picky, or have strict wants, but if the only difference between an opened box and an unopened box is double the price tag, personally i say some collectors should get over it. Ive bought from jungle, ive had sealed and unsealed, if id been paying attention i doubt id have even noticed the difference. It really is such a small detail and it doesnt justify the price jump at all.

I know im speaking for a minority of buyers, im not a fussy buyer, but sometimes collectors are more wrapped up in habit than saving some money on a toy they will appreciate the same regardless after the first 5 minutes. Seriously dont get it, its not a 20 year old toy with play wear vs MISB, but hey, to each their own.

It makes me laugh that people are basically paying twice the price for a bit of tape.

So you consider Mandarake to be a scalper? As for sealed figures, I imagine individual resellers who bought them have getting rid of some of their stock as prices had bottomed out for a while. I have no problem believing that some stores still have unopened stock. Jungle has two listed at the moment.

I don't, personally, see the need to buy sealed product. I'm going to display it anyway so as long as the figure is intact, I'm fine. But not everyone collects them same way. Telling people who collect in the manner they wish 'to get over it' is a little much. If they want to spend the additional cash to pick up an item that is unopened, more power to them.

Sadly Gokai Pink and Yellow are the last two Gokaigers I need for me to complete my set but their prices have kept them just out of reach. As badly as I want them, I don't want them $100.00 - $200.00 bad.

With the exception of Akibaranger, I've yet to complete a team. Although I guess I could count the SDCC Shinkenger 5 pack. Still, it's not quite the same as picking up the individual figures.

^That was basically the reason why I never got Shinken Pink and Yellow the price not to mention all the horror stories of snapped ball joints scared me away from completing the team.

I don't regret diving into the SDCC set though, selling off the ones I already had pretty much paid for half the set.

I just sold my entire shinkenger team (i had zero attachment to the sentai or power rangers) was worth it, now i can afford to see family at xmas and pay for my SHF Gouraigers

I recently got Cheeda Nick, which leaves Gorisaki as the final member of Go-Busters that I need (unless they decide to release Beet and Stag which I really really hope they do cause they were the reason I continued watching Go-Busters in the first place!).

I was really hoping that I could have him in his pose where he grips the handle bars on his head and this was the closest I could get:

I think he's a great looking figure with lots of detail! Although I do have few things to say about him. I was kind of expecting him to have diecast feet but unfortunately it is plastic like all Sentai Figuarts. I noticed that his legs were slightly difficult to move around and pose and hit shoulders can be a bit tight as well which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Also his feet don't sit flat on a surface with the toe joint fully down, I don't know why he's designed with his toes curved upwards which I think kind of affects his balance a little. And his accessory account is something to brag about either with only two holding-things hands which are used to wield his guns (though still more than Kiba Ranger got, haha).

The more I see Red Buster's figuart, the more I'm tempted to go out and buy him :lol

Well like I said: He's a good looking figuart but the articulation is very limited. He needed just one or two more joints for it to have been perfect *sigh*

Among the Sentai figuarts, he's the one that you can usually get the cheapest so yeah I'd say grab him if you can find him for under 2000 yen.

EDIT: The second cheapest is Ryuki Survive.

Raia is always at an affordable price and that metallic pink of his looks gorgeous.

You could always make him face Decade instead.

Decade has to pay for his crimes at some point :lol

Okay, so I got Alternative Zero last night, and I want to share a few thoughts.


As you may know, I consider the Ryuki Figuarts to be the best ones there are, so i was excited to get another one, in the form of Alternative Zero.


W.T.F.?

Alternative Zero is a completely different (all new?) body from the previous Ryuki Figuarts.

The feet are different, not just plastic (booo!), but different sculpt, the hands are different (the card holding hand even - it reminds me a lot more of Den-O's pass-holding hand than the Ryuki card holding hands). If there is ANY reuse between Alternative Zero and Ryuki, it is so minimal as to be irrelevant.

The joints feel plenty solid, the articulation doesn't seem crippled anywhere, it seems like a totally excellent Figuarts - despite the plastic feet, they're still nice and large, they seem the same size as the Ryuki feet, not miniscule things like the Sentai Figuarts have, so I don't foresee any balance issues, but it's just totally weird that it's so very much NOT a Ryuki Figuarts, despite having the correct style of packaging and having cards, which also look almost nothing like Advent cards.

WHAT IS THIS THING? Abyss was from a completely different series, and yet it is very much a Ryuki Figuarts, but Alternative Zero, he has more in common with SHF Blade than with SHF Ryuki.

I really don't get it. Somebody explain it to me.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great figure, it really is, but it isn't a Ryuki figure, and that really threw me for a loop.




@ guncannon109: A Ryuki figure is the best choice, sure. I think Tiger is really great, Knight Survive is really great, or if you don't want to get one that's the same colors as Abyss, Ryuki is the best choice bcause he includes Dragredder. But you really can't go wrong with any Ryuki figuart. Except Gai, because he's stupid expensive and has no accessories.

Well Alternative is a Pseudo Rider. He isn't a rider at all really. So he wouldn't share much with them. Kagawa developed the system as a rival to the Adent Decks, based loosely on the design books of Shiro Kanzaki's that he saw, so it's a much more technological looking thing. The cards aren't supposed to be the same and he isn't really meant to share attributes with Ryuki's other riders. He's his own thing entirely.

I did have my eye on Tiger. :lol

Okay, that would make sense then, why he doesn't have any similarities, at all. Is he in the show, or one of the movies? why haven't I finished Ryuki yet? (besides being a lazy bum).


I love Tiger, his big ax/visor is awesome, and the claws are really cool, though a giant PITA to get on the first time or two. But totally worth it.

He's in the show. And actually plays a pretty big role in the plot.

Alternative Zero was really awesome though. And his contract monster, Psychorogue, was also pretty beastly. And it could turn into the Psychoroader bike. Hence why I bought the Mirror Monster Psychorogue to go with my soon to be had SHF Alternatve Zero :D

I am hoping they make Luckyuro and Candelilla Figuarts, but those are huge hopes if at all.

Eye on the Tiger? :p I only have Raia, but it looks like any Ryuki figuart is good to pick up. I f you haven't watched Ryuki, I highly recommend it.

other ones I would like are goranger, battle fever j, JAKQ, and the rest of jetman. Jetman being the most likely followed by goranger. I just want Battle Fever J so hard cause I dig the suits and Kenji Ohba. I don't own any yet but how cool would it be to have classic teams. oh and I so want the embodiment of all reds, Aka Red, also the cool as heck, Big One.
