I'm just assuming story should be spoilered (Game has only been available for 4 days at most, officially for only 1 day), but info is fine.

As for nature, I only really care when it's a hindering one. I don't catch hordes of Pokemon or soft reset 20 times to get a beneficial nature, but I will make an effort if the nature will screw me over (Such as a Pikachu who has a nature that reduces speed).

Is nature that big a deal? I have never really even bothered to look at it.

Yeah, they boost one stat and decrease another. Though, some have no effect.

Well to be honest, nature is never really that important for the single-player component. It is significant for the competitive gaming, but in that case you'd want to breed Pokémon to get the right abilities and natures so it's a larger process than just getting the right one.

I usually just catch whatever Pokémon I like for the story itself, then maybe, just maybe if I'm determined enough I really raise one or two properly.

Natures, Evs and Ivs are the reason i can never win online.

So I am officially joining the Pokemon community, convinced Mom and Dad to get the Red Y 3DS XL and Pokemon Y, gotta wait until christmas but at least I can start back up on gaming :D
