I'm with you completely about Mezul and Gamel. When they both died I almost didn't complete the series because of the feels. Especially Gamel falling to his knees and offering her Medal a final candy before becoming Medals.. But you have to feel sorry for Uva to. Matrix said it best: He just wanted to survive.
And Maki screwed him deep and hard. He wasn't even attacking anyone when he became complete, he was just walking off. Maki is the true bastard of that series. And he deserved exactly what Eiji and Ankh did to him.

I'm glad you are on the same boat with me there, and I do feel bad for Uva. How he even pleaded for help before he turned into that...thing...He didn't want all the power, he just wanted to survive. I never liked Maki from day one. The bastard almost had me feeling sorry for him, until he revealed that he murdered his own sister.
As for Gamel and Mezul, like I said before, it felt more "complete" when the two of them died together the first time. She admitted that she loved him and joined with Gamel, accepting the transformation into the mutated vessel. Gamel went out of his way just to make her feel strong again and that's all he cared about. I really wished they would have at least gotten together for real before she died. Then I wouldn't be gushing right now about how two bad guys ripped out my heart in the metaphorical way. I was supposed to be glad to see them go and root for OOO to beat them! :lol

We're both screwed up in the head, Magi :lol I wanted them to both, somehow, become human towards the end.

YES. To live happily ever after and not stomp my delicate, new to Kamen Rider heart into the dirt. :cry

But...yeah. That just means the show did a good job of making me feel true emotion towards the characters, even the villains. It was a wonderful show and I'm going to miss reporting in on my abridged thoughts of the episodes...but, that leaves room for Fourze and W~

SERIOUSLY, what the hell, Toei? Why did you have to make Mezul and Gamel so likeable? It's like Insan and Jealousto from Gokaiger if they amped up the tragedy, instead of playing it for comedy.

Pfft...yeah. Kamen Rider had it's ups and downs with emotions, didn't it? It can tear out your heart one minute and make you bust a gut the next. I hope W is as good as OOO, I hold high expectations for the other seasons. But I'm not disappointed with what I've seen so far from Fourze, so it seems he's making a good "replacement" for Eiji.

Gentaro is a hard man not to like :lol Even if I was watching for Tomoko >_> And Virgo..

Yep, it's really hard to dislike that guy. How can you hate someone who wants to be friends to everyone? You can't!...not if he's a Kamen Rider, at least. :lol

I'll be glad to get back into the full swing of watching Fourze and getting W started. I should also continue with Shinkenger as well, but that's another story.

Minus Uva, whose character arc came to its most logical and satisfying conclusion, I thought the handling of the Greeed was terrible. Despite a larger cast of villains, and greater focus on them, they actually did very little in the series and had an in story device to vanish for whole arcs at a time. So for them to just line up at the end just to be knocked down, it was really quite pathetic in my opinion.

I think you'll like Shinkenger. Once it's over though, you should try Goseiger. Or atleast the Shinkenger v Goseiger movie. I think you'd like them both.

Fourze is such a great series, you have so much coming you have no idea. None. And I really wish I could tell you.. but no spoilers :lol

Shinkenger's ending is great, and so is the beginning, but the middle draaaaaaaaaaaaaags and it has one of the worst mech and sixth rangers, ever.

Fourze has an amazing first quarter or so, then it is all down hill from there. Meteor is like the only thing that kept me watching the last three quarters of the show, and even he got ruined by a shitty upgrade.

Eh, I may not really agree with you, but I can at least see what you mean to an extent...maybe the greed Greeed could have used some more time on screen, but I was satisfied with what I got.

Oh and you don't have to worry about me liking Shinkenger. I've made it to Episode 24 and I'm loving it. Much better than Samurai...blegh...anyway, yes, I look forward to more of Shinkenger, more of Fourze and getting onto more of Goseiger. I've already seen episode one recently. I still have nine sentais that I've started that I need to complete, and the closest ones to completion are Boukenger and Shinkenger.

I wouldn't have minded if they had got like epic send offs, but they didn't. Eiji had grown from rookie into all out badass by the end, so the Greeed had long since past their point of being a threat to him by this point so they barely put up a fight at all, they physically couldn't, he was too strong for them. They lacked that 'oh shit, shit is going down' feeling that should come with a villain.

Like as much as I thought characters like White Wizard and Phoenix were crap in Wizard, they both got absolutely EPIC final battles that at least gave you greater appreciation of the character by the end, even if they actually added nothing of substance to the show.

As for Kamen Rider W? I really like it so far! ^^

It opened up with the debut of Cyclone Joker in the first few minutes, which reminds me of Shinkenger having Takeru show up as Shinken Red in the first minute or so. (It makes sense, considering that Shinkenger was airing at the same time as W.) The early debut of Shinken Red and Cyclone Joker is a good thing, considering that both of them managed to get my favor pretty quickly with their badass first minute debut. That's why my first Figuarts purchase was Shinken Red. :lol

The Detective theme for this show works out nicely and manages to keep me interested, and I really liked the idea of two minds joining together to become this new Kamen Rider. I look forward to more episodes of this show.

W has a very awesome opening. Right away it hits you with a burning "why?" What's going on, who are these people and why are they running? Action out of the gates, and one of the best first Henshins of any rider I've seen. And the answers are great, especially in the W portion of Movie War 2010 film, which is required viewing come episode 16 of the show. (actually I think the movie takes place after 16)

Actually, it was between Episodes 13 and 14.

And MagiRed, if youre liking Fourze, you can like anything, it took a bit after Meteor to get me to stay interested. So more power to you on it! :lol

Really? I thought everything before Meteor was near perfection, and probably some of my all time favourite Rider stuff, then I thought it was all down hill from there.

I just couldnt get into the series at all. By the end it was a good series, but the beginning I just gave up around 14 and then finished after I finished W. :lol

I still need to get back into W, and the longer I leave it, the more likely I'm going to have to watch those first ten or so episodes again that I didn't enjoy the first time around. Joy.

Realistically, the first ten episodes are world building and character establishing. If you've seen them and remember the characters at all, you're good to pick up where you left off. Plus, you're really close to the Movie War (Thanks KRX for reminding me where it takes place) and that's when the show hits it's stride. The movie is where the building plot points pay off and first delve into the backstory takes place, and introduces (or reintroduces) probably the most influencial character of the show.

Really, come to think of it, W has probably had the best treatment in movies for most Kamen Rider series. The Movie war 2010 portion is really good backstory and awesome stuff I won't mention because spoilers, Forever A-to-Z was amazing and the W half of War Core deserved it's own full length movie it was so good. (shame the OOO portion suuuuuucked. Seeing the two Riders team up was pretty awesome, though) Even Accel Returns is pretty good. Only Eternal's totally pointless movie stands out as teh odd one of the bunch.

Fourze only got better as it went in my eyes.

Thing is, I kind of agree with both of you. I really liked W all the way through, but the first ten episodes are a STARK contrast to the series overall. Not so much in tone, but just in quality. The of-the-week stories are way better compared to early on. I liked the first ten episodes, but comparring them to later on I don't find them as good. But even the best shows can have wonky starts. Barring few examples, Batman TAS didn't get really good until about Two-Face. (remember how the famously dark and edgy Batman show that revolutionaized cartoons had a daffy Adam West-style Christmas romp as it's second episode?)

My theory on Rider series is that the first ten or so episodes, while important narratively, are deffinitely more... kid focused. That's when they're usually pushing product, so there's lots of CGI fights, gimmicks and shit happening to establish what's on shelves. Like Revolgarry gets out of the house WAY more often in the early episodes. And the Hardsplasher, boy that's a vital piece of equipement. I think the Movie War was it's last apperance come to think of it. And look at the Den Liner in Den-O. Imagin go out of control way more often when there's new trains coming out, as it happens.

I do think that there was a notorious drop of quality after 32 basically I would like an arc and then drag to the next one, maybe it didn't help that I never liked the Zodiarts as enemies.

But overall it was a nice journey, WACHAAA!

I guess I'll forge my own opinions soon enough. But I DO look forward to more Fourze.

I consider Fourze mediocre all throughout.
However, it was enjoyable, and that's what was important.

Honestly Meteor is more important to the plot than Gentaro. :P

I'm with Locke on this one. Once Ryusei entered the picture the show stagnated hardcore for about 15-20 episodes. And when it finally got going again it had to rush everything to fit it all into the last six episodes.

You're right. Of all the Rider series I've seen W has done the movies the best.

Finished off Agito! That was fun. Gotta say, the folks who told me that not very little would make sense in the end might be a little exaggerated, ooor maybe I'm used to old Heisei shows not making total sense. :lol

In any case, I didn't find myself asking any questions by the end, it kinda all fell into place for me. I'm also used to heroes now delivering the final attack, only to get a jarring timeskip right as the attack hits. But hey things worked out for the better for Shouichi, and that makes me VERY happy.

As a whole, Agito has been more fun than I expected. Good use of characters, I like the way miscommunication is handled, the only major complaint I had is things were VERY confusing in the single-digit episodes, but at some point they really buckled down to solve the overarching mystery of "Why?" - It really felt like a LOT happened, even for a year long series, and I'm kinda sad I finished it already cause I love the cast.

With that show complete, I can officially say I've seen all of the modern Rider shows, until Gaim starts. :) I don't think I'll be checking out much of the older shows since most of it doesn't really grab me and I'd prefer to have it all subbed in full first, but if I do I'll probably end up going for Black. It seems to be the go-to show for a lot of people.

Agito would've been ten time better with ten less episodes and less melodrama and pretentiousness.

I mean, really. God? You're going to make a God alegory in your silly spandex hero show? Gimme a break.

Watched Kuuga 17, enjoyed a recap episode because it's been a while since I saw the beginning and helped me a lot. Also I love seeing Kuuga fight so that's cool too.

Watched Faiz 18 and 19. I felt bad for Mr. J but glad that his dog Chaco, ended with someone to look after him. (Yes I care about animals in the show lol.) Also liked the Faiz vs Kiba fight too. I like the different factions and that Takumi and Kiba are starting to become friends. Also love the fact of Faiz taking down two Orphenochs again.

Now to watch more of Kuuga tonight.
