Alright if I remember right the first one is about some petty thieves who get involved in an international counterfeit and smuggling operation and Rothrock and Yeoh have to keep them alive, I do not remember anything about the second one (not a flaw in it, I was just preoccupied), and the one with Fujioka has him out for revenge after his partner is killed by a pair of communist revolutionaries.

I mean they're martial arts cop movies, they do about what you expect, just with some truly excellent stunt work (especially the first one).

One Sammo Hung movie that comes to mind whenver he's brought up for me is Winners & Sinners, a comedy action flick from the 1980s. Sammo Hung is one of the main cast members while Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao have supporting roles in it.

For me, Millionaires Express 1986th comes to mind first. The film seemed ridiculous even as a child, but the number of cool fights outweighs all the shortcomings.

While working on a new book, I suddenly realized one interesting thing. "Rock, Paper, Scissors" is a game popular all over the world. But in my childhood we always played it with the addition of a well, even if it ruined the ideal balance of game options. So I was wondering if this was somewhere else or if the “well” was a local feature, like drinking tea without removing the spoon from the cup?Also write what additions you had to this (or other) games, both well-known ones and your own invention.

I'd much rather it be someone who genuinely loves the series than the last decade they spent courting people who were best known for their hatred of it like Arin Hanson.

When I was a kid, I played rock paper scissors with other kids, and sometimes we all pulled out a 'gun' on each other with our fingers, completely ruining all game balance.

We just used dynamite. Index and middle fingers together, pointed upright like we were executing ninpo (This was prior to Ninja Gaiden popularizing the gesture).


Later someone came up with the idea that instead of a draw, it meant mutual loss, which didn't do anything to stop anyone from using it because we were all like 10 and thus extremely stupid.

I genuinely liked that movie when it came out and I still do.

The movie received its share of hate, but it is foolish to deny that it has its advantages. The actress in the role of Chi-Chi is very beautiful. Chung Yun-fat as Master Roshi gives 1000%. And a twist with the true essence of the MC can impress those unfamiliar with the original. But, at the same time, the film is terribly crumpled, ridiculous, and the leading actor is as unattractive and anti-charismatic as possible.

I wouldn't say Justin Chatwin is unattractive (quite the opposite) but he's definitely struggling with the material and some costars of questionable ability (Bulma and especially Yamcha). He absolutely shined during the car slide and the surrounding scene, but the more dramatic parts just didn't click either due to poor prep or just godawful dialogue.

Chow Yun-Fat going full Raoul Julia-in-Street Fighter is a highlight of the film, again an actor who is so much better than the material giving it the kind of ribbing it needs.

But I do agree that the film is a compressed, crumpled mess of ideas and events that has absolutely no time to really breathe or establish much in the way of anything. It's one of those films I appreciate for genuinely trying and you can see in parts the film it wants to be, bogged down by the weight of studio demands and a horribly slashed budget (30 million down from 100-130 million).

Make no mistake, I am not calling it a good movie, but it's one I appreciate, respect, and enjoy despite all of its flaws because, as I said, you can occasionally see the genuine bits of what it's trying to be shine through. The car slide, infamous as it is, is 100% a Toriyama bit, and I love that.

I’m just not one of the “cool enough” guys for this Toku group.
I’m having fun but almost everyone here gets their panties wound too tightly around the buttcrack area,like my grandma used to make, I am used to much less reserved people than this stuck up place.
Even the people in the Facebook groups are more fun and that place is a clusterf*ck

I decided to pick an anime out of my backlog to watch (it's less a backlog and more like an inventory nowadays because I swear I won't live long enough to actually go through it all), and the anime I picked was Granbelm.

Holy cow, seriously, give this anime a shot. I was not expecting to be hit with the feels in the final half once everything hits the fan. It's basically Madoka with mecha in a battle royale. And it feels like a passion project rather than a cash grab.

Absolute hidden gem.

I remember seeing an episode or two a while back. It invoked Madoka, like you pointed out, as well as a bit of Rayearth and the Wataru series because of the super-deformed robots.

It's pretty good. It's not being dark and edgy for the sake of being dark and edgy like most dark magical girl anime nowadays, but rather takes the Madoka approach and uses such moments sparingly in order to focus on character relationships.

I enjoy it as a bad movie. I would rather watch it over the bad movies that came out in 2009 like Transformers 2 and Legend of Chun Li.

Checking out older anime these days. I've discovered Shakugan no Shana, and it's really enjoyable so far. Really wish the light novels were translated because apparently the anime doesn't do it justice. Oh well.
