Yeah, Madoka may have kickstarted the trend of dark and edgy magical girls, but they really missed the point that Madoka is still ultimately a show about hope and not just being edgy for the sake of being edgy.

Again, it's not even that it invented the trend, those themes have always been part of the genre. It was just the one that both stuck and brought them to the forefront.

It's a tragic show, not a miserable one. None of the deaths or events are downplayed or treated with disdain; just unfortunate conclusions to bad decisions.

Anyway put up the first chapter of a new fic last night and it's getting good reception so between that and a four day weekend I'm feeling pretty good today.

I was up in the balcony, so people didn't get to walk in front of me during the music stuff. Plus I, too, was an aisle seat. So my angle wasn't perfect, but I got some good stuff.

It looks like people are not fans of the new Devil May Cry show. From what I've seen of it, I like it. It's not going to be a perfect adaption in the first place, so the changes don't bother me that much.

I only got around to one episode as of now and as someone who's completely ok with adaptations making changes, there's some questionable stuff there like trying to do scifi explanations for demons instead of y'know, demons. Though my biggest issue is hearing 3 songs they took from the games and thinking "Oh this sounds kinda bad". I'm gonna waot for.my movie night buddies before I watch more cause Robbie Daymond's Vergil also just annoys me as I love the actor but that was not his best work lmao
