The two "Royal" episodes are perplexing, cause I don't recall anything from Ninninger that correlates.

The last one mentioned sounds like Yamabiko from Ninninger 14, which is an odd choice because of his resemblance to a Japanese-style phone/phone booth.

I would not be surprised if the two "Royal" episodes is how we are introduced to Red Ranger's enhanced mode as well as Lion Fire Zord/Megazord.

I strongly urge those who don't like spoilers to avoid this! I'll add one though: Victor and Monty are arrested!

If Saban decided to do a completely original series , not using any footage from a prior Japan series, would it be feasible?

Which would be none.

The most expensive stuff tends to be the Zord battles, and if Saban wasn't willing to spring for that with Zyu 3 during the heyday of MMPR, I don't see it happening now. In fact I'd say we've got a better chance of someone else doing an homage series.
