Real talk, I wanted to say Jetman but I figured someone was gonna recommend it so I went with Gingaman for the sake of variety. That said, have y'all seen Liveman?

Which reminds me, that ramen cart owner in that Dai/Green Flash-centric episode is Takeru/Red Mask from Maskman and that one Sara/Yellow Flash-centric episode's guest character is Shou/Change Gryphon from Changeman. Forgot the episode numbers though, dang.

Yeah, either Shinkenger or ToQger and Jetman are the two past series I'm most interested in, due to already being familiar with Kobayashi and Inoue's writing in Kamen Rider. I hear Shinkenger and Jetman are viewed as some of the best seasons, and while I know ToQger isn't as universally beloved, the things I've heard about it make it sound like something I'd really enjoy. Only problem is finding the time to watch another series. It's taken me most of the year to watch Kuuga, and I'm still not done! I really need to finish Faiz after dropping it a year or two ago also. There's also more Rider series I really need to watch, and I've been wanting to get into Ultra too. problem with not getting into toku until 2018 is that there's a hell of a backlog to get caught up on

I find it humorous that you consider Jetman overrated and yet you recommend Gokaiger. :lol

Liveman's pretty great though. That totally would have been my third choice for 80s after Flashman and Bioman.

At least we agree that Kiramager is the best show of the 20s. :p

Yeah, definitely finish Faiz, it's the Jetman of Kamen Rider! For Kobayashi shows, I think Timeranger and Gobusters are the best that she's written. Shinkenger is okay. Can't speak for Gingaman. I wouldn't touch ToQGer at all, it sucks, but hey, it's your choice, I'm not going to stop you.

Shinkenger has an incredible final 15-ish episodes. The beginning is pretty good, the middle is kind of weak, but dang, those last 15-or-so episodes are fire. While Timeranger and Gobusters are overall more consistent, no Kobayashi Sentai tops Shinkenger's endgame.

ToQger isn't great, but I don't think it sucks. I like it better than Gingaman, so, IMO, it's not Kobayashi's worst Sentai.

I loved Toqger a lot! It's very much like Kiramager; it fully embraces what's wonderful and silly about Sentai and doubles down on it.

Genta is insufferable, but the rest of the show is okay and yeah, the final arc where Kaoru shows up is probably the best part.

I think ToQGer isn't just Kobayashi's worst Sentai but rather the worst Sentai. I haven't watched Gingaman yet but I've heard it's meh, which is already better than terrible.

Without spoilers, what do you think is so bad about Gingaman?

Genta's a very fun character. I think the episode he gets the lamp mecha highlights the worst parts of Shinkenger, but aside from that he's genuinely just an enjoyable guy to watch. Definite shoutouts to Kaoru being one of my favourite Sentai characters of all time, though!

ToQger's a lot of things, "sucks" isn't one of them.

Hell, it's got one of the most robust villain factions out of recent sentai with how developed they were as characters.

Wagon and the soundtrack are the only parts that I like. I'm sticking with "it sucks".

Soundtrack was great! Henshin/Battle gets me pumped up every time
