That ending was Davies shutting up the little fangirls who kept belly-aching and crying over how Rose and the Doctor were never a real couple. Ten losing Donna had a much more real emotional impact for me. When she starts crying, begging him not to do what she knows he has to do. And then when he's at their home.. and tells her mother maybe she should tell Donna just how important she is sometimes. I cried. Not gonna lie. Like a baby.

Ugh, that ending which got rid of Donna in a most disappointing way.

I did notice some interesting stuff rewatching seasons one and two recently though. Aside from Adam (who was a dick anyway) Eccleston was quite keen to pick up additional companions - he asked Mickey (who declined), Lynda with a Y.

Meanwhile when Tennant came along in season 2 him and Rose were holding hands and acting coupley in almost every episode and the Doctor was suddenly more protective about who could join in. When Mickey asked could he come he was a bit abrasive about it even though he said yes.

I despise the Doctor/Rose couple aspect, but I feel better just passing the romance off as a byproduct of 10's personality rather than something that was true to all incarnations.

Yeah, Eleven didn't have that (does River count? she feels different) even though they totally could have done so.

River is an hard one to pin down. It doesn't feel the same but sometimes seems just as bad :lol

Sometimes it was overdone, to the point that later on it became a bit tedious. I personally felt that by Series 7's The Angels Take Manhattan I was bored of her. However, The Name of the Doctor was a perfect conclusion to River's story arc, in my opinion. I'm happy to just leave it at that.

I'm not sure the question here, do you want them in chronlogical order (River's timeline) or which is the best one?

If it's the latter, the season 5 ones are probably my favourites. Because the Weeping Angel one isn't TOO heavy on the River stuff and Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang are just good episodes in general.

I didn't like that very much when it aired, but it is in need of a rewatch.

It was a good character driven episode. Especially Donna inside the Doctor Moon programming.

Her distorted face creeped me out :(

I don't know if he's as bitter about it as that interview makes out, but judging by the bits and pieces they've all said unless they're keeping some massive secret I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.

I kind of agree with him. Tennant was a good Doctor, so was Smith. But look what they gave us. Screaming fangirls who took over almost the entire fandom. I'm looking forward to a grown-up Doctor again.

He's not really in a position to criticise Tennant's age unless he wants to lump Davison in with that though, given that he was younger when cast.

I'm conflicted. On one hand these will be MUCH better for displays (to the point where I hope they release empty ones for my 30 odd other ones) but on the other this makes them near impossible to identify without buying.

oh um ok at list the regeration was simple and not like ecllesosn and davids but paul mcgann one of my fave doctor even if he was just in the movie

It's such a reminder of how brilliant he is. It's amazing, but cruel, since that's probably the last time we'll see him, at least under Moffat. At least I assume that's why the 8th Doctor Big Finish range seems to have been brought into show canon. I still need to track those down, I've only listened to one and I know I'm missing out big time. I just can't afford them currently.

I highly recommend them. His run have been some of my favourite stories of the last few years.

I enjoyed it but I had to look up who he was =p I really should watch some older who stuff at some point... Heck I should probably watch the Tennant stuff I missed.
