To get back on topic, I've been interested in ToQger, but I'm not sure I should watch it. I mean, coming off the heels of Kyoryuger, I'm not sure it could live up to its predecessor, IMO.

It really depends on how you view a series beforehand. Personally, I think every season of Super Sentai is independant from the rest (except Gokaiger, but yeah anyway), so I usually don't compare them to each other and try to view every show as a thing of it's own. Worked fine for me so far. The only shows I ever really disliked in Sentai were Boukenger and Dairanger.

I dunno, ToQger looks kinda, sub-par. I really try not to compare series, but I'm just that kinda person who tries to see how they "sync up."

Oh, it lives up, up, and beyond.

Well, let's say, if you like a bright and friendly Sentai with a somewhat deeper story in the background, I'm pretty sure you'll like it. I'd say so far, Toqger feels a bit like Goseiger, at least character-wise.

Well, I already have a Kyubey.

Goseiger I personally liked mainly because of Gosei Knight, Moune, and Hyde. Those characters I found the most interesting(No offense to Alata, Eri, and Agri I liked them too.) Now ToQger, oh boy that's a different story. The main five all appeal to me and I can't decide who to like better. And the theme of imagination hits me right on my childish side.

ToQ doesn't reinvent the wheel, in some regards after shows like Gokaiger Go-Busters etc it feels like a firm step backwards but it's largely been really focused on fun so far and I can't really hate on something entire focused on fun. Especially a show like this, which seems to suggest that something much bigger, deeper and darker is lying just beneath the surface and I'm more than intrigued to find out what that is.

It's often compared to Goseiger, but for me I LOVE Goseiger, something the majority of the fandom can't say themselves so although I don't think it's a touch on Goseiger in the slightest, you may well see it as Goseiger done right.

Possible rumor for the future! Take with salt unless something else turns up.

So is having a shit ton of Rangers gonna be the new thing for Sentai? Is that in direct reaction to Gobusters? Because I'm sorry but Kyoryuger had way too many Rangers. Pretty much none of them were developed and it only makes the suits feel more boring, and less special, when you see them ten times over and the most dramatic change is the base colour.

I'd rather have three Rangers and a strong core team dynamic, than fifty who are just randomly chucked in when the show feels like it. But characters and plot? FUCK THAT TOY SALES.

Well I'd argue it still is. Even if there are more rangers, I think it's still a more solid franchise than Power Rangers. What does the count have to do with anything when the Power Rangers adaptation uses the same rangers?

I for one am all about large teams. One of my favorite shows, Dekaranger, had 7 regular members and two other special appearances plus 1 movie exclusive. And I really really loved it. Kyoryuger had a good number but lost track of how to balance the large team, or rather how to properly make use of the large team. If ToQger goes the route of Dekaranger then I'm all in.

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Pink standing in for Violet.

If they're going for a Rainbow motif, that next Ranger will probably be Black, Grey or Brown.

Sentai will always be better then Power Rangers and there's one reason behind it.Because no matter the age group,everyone in Japan knows what Sentai is and what the current one is that's happening.If I mentioned Power Rangers to a random person on the street that is above the age of 40,I bet they either don't know it's still going on or don't care.

Sentai just will always have a more devoted fanbase then Power Rangers.Personally to me is it better? I refer you to the case of Operation Overdrive vs. Boukenger.

As far as there being a lot of Rangers,this is the seventh rumored one.Yeah,I agree with Locke in that smaller teams lead to better character development,but it doesn't hurt to have a decent size team either.It makes the threat seem that much more,well,threatening.

Both series are blatantly trying to sell toys, but I wouldn't say either is better then the other because of it. I just think Sentai is better because, as a whole, the Sentai versions nearly almost have better plot and characters. The worst Sentai is still better then the worst PR and the best PR is usually not as good as the best Sentai.

That said, I really am hoping this IS NOT a trend. 6 Rangers is more then enough with 7 being the very maximum. Kyoryuger played around with the idea of huge amounts of Rangers and it wasn't very well executed. ToQger has been great so far and I love the characters, so I'm really hoping they don't big them down.

I think we'll only see seven in ToQger,at least like you I hope so.I totally agree that there isn't a need for more then 7,and it's even good to have teams of three.Some of the best sentai series only had 3,but look at Dekaranger.That had what,8 rangers.And it still turned out ok.

Best thing is to have a balance.That being said,and to get back on track,I really hope the rumors are true.Would be cool to see a Maglev Ranger.

Dekaranger only really had 7. Deka Swan was extremely minor and Deka Bright and Deka Gold were incredibly minor. Heck, Deka Swan had more on-screen time in Gokaiger then Dekaranger.

True,but it does show that you can have more then 8 and make it work.Even if the ones past 7 are minor roles,they still add to the story.

Even if you just go by the electromagnetic spectrum there's going to be at least 7. And I could easily see ToQ 1 getting some kind of power-Up based on Infra-Red. After all this team is based on rainbows I.E. the visible spectrum of light

Leaving an Indigo/purpleish colored ranger. If the ToQ 0/ReiGo rumors are true then I think it's safe to assume it's Indigo/puprle or possibly white or black. Absence of light or total presence of it. Either way I'd assume a ToQ 0 to be a prototype version of the powers for the others and based on some hints I've sort of gotten it in my head, I think General Schwartz could actually be human and therefor a ToQger. Albeit a brainwashed one right now.

I was riding witcha on the ROY G BIV thing, but schwartz a TQG? Hmmmmmm indeed. 0 would work then, making him black, and 7 white.

Nope, he appears, transforms once, and dies all in the same episode.

If there are to be any more Rangers, I want some evil ones. Things like white, which is the absence of colour, would be a pretty cool thing for an Evil Ranger set around a rainbow motif.
