I'd put Kouta on that list as well. Heisei Generations Final was probably the same in that it was a one and done deal and I'm satisfied enough for that TBH. He's the lead in an upcoming movie (along with Zangetsu's actor) as well and I don't know how much free time you'd get from that. If he were to appear in Zi-O, I would just see that as a bonus.

Though back during Kuuga, that platinum egg chicken had barely hatched. But I wouldn't put the blame solely on them.

Sometimes they really are only doing what they are being paid to do. And the auteur stuff is part of that, as well as part of their means to have the series taken seriously as an artistic nuanced program that can be enjoyed by all.

Some of the coolest things in Lupin vs Pat are the same way. It's not accidental the main full team combined mecha is heavily reminiscent of Asura's Wrath. It was done that way at the insistence of side sponsors, and was also an emphasis to try and sell merchandise by highlighting how cool it is. Which is how the side sponsors got Bandai of Japan/Toei to go for it. Besides of course what these side sponsors/investors were paying for and part of how they wanted to turn a profit off of it.

But at the end of the day, it is about what will also turn a profit. And in the early days that was more of a concern for longevity than it is now, because the show was still fledgling, new, and trying to gain traction. Now it's a little more relaxed on those concerns.

Zangetsu had enough spare time to be a recurring villain in Sentai, so there's still a chance that Goku Sano can spare enough time to film an episode. I'm not hopeful, but I'd be beyond happy if it happened.

I am really curious though as to what made them go "Takadera, you want another crack at this?". They could have gone to other people yet they settled on Takadera. Maybe they were so desperate to make something better than Blade? Again, curious.

Think any of the Showa riders can appear in Zi-O too?

Maybe Minami Kotaro can appear since the Heisei era began during RX's run

If these rumors turn out to be true (hopefully so) then I'm surprised that they manage to bring Fukushi Shota back as Gentarou again since he is a big star now. I really thought Heisei Generation Final would be his last ride

Tribute episodes don't necessarily mean the actor coming back. I'd hope otherwise, but I'd fully expect a full suit with alternate voice actor ordeal. ... going by trends set in previous crossovers with Fourze, a pretty bad voice actor too.

The form debut timeline we saw suggested as much, although it's less clear about Fourze than it is about Build and Ex-Aid appearing early.

Probably the less surpising, but 555 and Kaixa actors mentioned on their twitter they are done filming "something".

The Faiz Ride Watch are in first toy quarter so its possible we has faiz tribute episode.

I know it has been a while, but Katsuhisa Namase will be playing Sougo's grand-uncle in Zi-O and never have I thought I would see the day where THE VICE PRINCIPAL OF GOKUSEN will play the Tachibana of a Kamen Rider show. Naoto Takenaka being on Kamen Rider Ghost was already shocking enough a few years ago, now they bring in another versatile actor who played the lovable-yet-annoying vice principal from Gokusen. He was also grown-up Donkey from 20th Century Boy.

Bandai just announced they will release a CSM for Kuuga's Arcle Belt. Does it mean we can hope that Joe Odagiri will finally comeback?

Probably not. Would be great if he could make it but probably not. And I honestly would like them to just include the sound effects and the background music from the TV show and call it a day.

For Zi-O? No. He doesn't hate Kuuga, but he does hate Tokusatsu - Kuuga's just the exception that he does like. He has said he'd consider a Kuuga reunion show if the director and writer returned for it, but not a crossover, or anything to do with the larger Kamen Rider franchise.

All 19 Heisei ride watches are first quarter from what I remember in the scans. So while this may be promising, there is a chance some riders wont get to appear or do so only in minor roles instead of getting the whole 2 episode arc.

Next and New could also be "placeholders" for Ridewatches for the next show

The first thing that scrolls by is Zi-O because that's the right Ridewatch, but after the jingle for that ends, the name that appears immediately afterwards is for the other Ridewatch. Zi-O repeats in the 2019 and 2038 ones because the other watch is also a Zi-O.

1971 was the Beginning of Kamen Rider
1989 was the End of Kamen Rider Black RX

So series wise it is the beginning and end years. Black RX started in the end of '88 and ended in September of '89

So browsing Wikipedia, noticed the pre-Heisei era being coined as the Ishinomori Era, and you know what? I think we should use it more often when we are referring to riders from Kamen Rider 1 to Kamen Rider J. Cause technically the last Showa rider is RX, which started roughly two and a half months prior to the beginning of the Heisei era, and Shin, ZO, and J were from 92~94, early years of the Heisei era and also the time when Ishinomori was still alive. Just thought I'd share that while it was still fresh in my mind.

You're not wrong. But the term "Showa Rider" has been used for so long and Toei even acknowledged J, ZO and Shin to be "Showa" in Showa vs Heisei, even though it's incorrect historically. So I think we should stick with "Showa Riders"

1989 is the first year of the Heisei era, seeing as Zi-O commemorates its end its significance is pretty obvious.

Yeah, I'm just personally peeved with the idea that Toei bundling the 90s movie riders as Showa when clearly they are not feels like sheer laziness. :lolol
Seriously though Toei should consider regrouping just those three for accuracy sake cause it makes them look ignorant. Call them 90s Trifecta or something. :lolol

In a post Zi-O world, that adjustment might be a good idea. That's something to save for the overall rider 50th to do though.

There is a rumor (so take with a grain of salt!), that the next series and series after might make cameos in Zi-O.
But the main focus is supposed to be Heisei era only. So don't expect those any time soon, potentially at least not until Zi-O spills over into the next era. Allegedly to tease their future series, or could end up as a write off like Aqua(heh, ride off).

Also a rumor that there may be one more rider revealed for the show later too. But again, nothing solidly proven as yet.
