Also, finally got around to picking up Agul V2 (he'd been on the "to-do" list but since he's been available on Amazon for a while I held off, but when one popped up on Mandarake for 1500 yen...). Nice and solid, fun accessories to boot. I think I like the lighter blue on V2 more than then darker blue I've seen on V1 (who I've also yet to get around to picking up but would like to, since I'll have Gaia V1 on the well as well as Gaia V2 already in-hand).

I have realized that the interchangeable protecter badge on Gaia's chest is sold seperately. Is that's true? Can anyone give me the answer. If it is, does anybody know when the side-distorted badge is on sale? It is a single sale or part of another figure?

Not entirely sure what you're talking about. Gaia's Life Gauge, his equivalent of the Color Timer on Ultraman? Every Ultra-Act release of Gaia in his three different forms includes a red and blue version that can be swapped out.

No no, I mean the replaceable sash around Gaia's chest and neck that helps him more easily to perform Glitter Quantum Stream. I see that it is not included in Gaia set, is it sold seperately?

Oh, that! Ok, that's an accessory with the Gaia V1 exclusive release. Gaia V2 is an older figure release and came out well before Bandai started using swappable chest parts (like on the Ultraseven renewal). Even if it was colored black to go with Gaia V2, there would be no way to use it with V2 as the chest isn't designed for that part's removal to my knowledge.

But I have found that this swappable chest part is not included in the Gaia V1, sure, I am talking about Gaia V1, not Gaia V2, so I want to know if it is or will be sold seperately :(

I have a thought that such a newly-introduced as Ultraman Ginga has been on the productline and is to be released in next month or many of figures released have been renewed such as Ultraman, Ultraseven, Leo and so on, so I wonder for what reason that such old but beloved ones as Ultraman 80, Ultraman Neos, Seven 21 or Zearth have never been mentioned by Bandai? Anyone have the same idea?

I have a great crush on Showa Ultraman so that though I have been collecting Ultra-act figure for a long time but it was not until early this year that I paid attention to Heisei Ultraman such as Dyna or Gaia due to their gorgeous look. :)

The five Ultras you mentioned are simply not as well-loved as the others. Among others, I think only 80 would have a chance to get released eventually since fans need him to complete the Showa gang.

Oh, I do not have the same idea with you. In reality, there's many Ultras released but do not seem attractive to collectors such as Ultraman Jonias or Andro Melos, etc. As respect to fame and popularity, I believe that some Neos, Seven 21 or Zearth is not less than many released ones have :)

In my opinion, all Ultraman will have the same oppoturnity to be on the productline, sooner or later. :)

Ultra Seven renewal version was my very first Ultra-Act. I have been watching the TNT dubbed episodes also. Fun stuff!

That's why Jonias and Melos were released as web exclusives. Although these two aren't extremely famous but they're very unique to the franchise. Jonias was the first 2-D Ultra, and Melos' series was a noble canon to the ultra universe. Not to mention the character had a mystery relation to Zoffy (Japanese fandom is CRAZY about Zoffy).

Another advantage to releasing Jonias was the ability to save money on tooling by offering two separate figures in anime and "real" decos. Appealing to fans that want only one or the other while also encouraging fans to end up grabbing both probably worked out nicely over a more unique but more essential exclusive release like Mother of Ultra.

The head sculpt is just perfect for my taste.

Hands are a little bit tighter to pop on and off; shoulder posability is hindered a bit by the standard collar, but he comes with an extra one that frees up the shoulder a bit. Unlike Gaia V2 and Agul V2, no extra light-piped head is included either.

(Quick comparison shot w/Gaia V2. I don't have Agul V1 yet, unfortunately, so no shots with him.)

Effects parts are nice. The photon edge simply slides onto the head and is a pretty tight grip - there is a whole for a Tamashii stand to peg into it as well, if you want more support depending on the pose you're going for. I can get him stable when posed this way, but if he's more compact I'll need the stand since he's rather top-heavy with the photon edge on his head.

Four XIG aircraft are included. They're nice and detailed and have pegholes for a Tamashii stand...but no Tamashii stand is included. That's a bit of a pet peeve for me.

V1's rather loaded, accessory-wise, compared to recent Ultra-Act web exclusives, so it's worth picking up, especially if you're a big Gaia fan. The lack of a Tamashii stand is a bit irritating, but the only downside I can see for this release.

I got Zero renewal on my birthday last Sunday. He's my first Ultra Act and he's a solid figure overall. I wish his he can stand up better when I use him in poses. The leg joints to me feel weak compare to the Figuarts and the Ultra Acts are pretty much Ultraman figuarts expect for that they are taller and they come with more accessories then other stuff in most Tamashii figure lines.

Will Seven renewal, Jack, Zoffy, Ace and Belial get reissue soon? I would imagine Belial would get reissue when Zero renewal was coming out similar what happen with SHF Shadow Moon.

I don't think you will ever see an old "Black box" Ultra-act figure like Belial get reissued. if anything he will get a renewal at some point
