Watched through episode 21 of Megaranger and it is sweet. Much like Gekiranger, this is a show I kinda knew I'd like, but I'm still surprised anyway just how much I'm liking it.
Where to even start? Well I guess first I can talk about how awesome the heroes are still. The whole friendship between the Megarangers continues to come off really strong, Kubota is still the best, and the INET staff in general is a great element to the show. Usually Sentai is just five random dudes saving the Earth from an army of monsters but this show regularly makes it a point that those five random dudes would get absolutely nowhere without the help they're getting from the mundane people working behind the scenes. The debut of Super Galaxy Mega really cemented that for me. Such great stuff. Also, the Nezirezia have topped themselves in terms of craziness. These guys are terrifying. Let me put it this way. The first episode I watched today had them trying to raise an army of toad monsters to take over the planet with, and that's tame compared to some of the other crap I saw. Like, okay, episode 19, right? It has the debut of a new commander guy. So how does he make his entrance? He blows up a crap-ton of buildings in his big flying saucer, airdrops in a ton of mooks to ransack the place for survivors, kidnaps a ton of children to later be brainwashed into use as human shields, and as a cherry on top, when the Megarangers show up to do their thing, he uses his super speed abilities to swap out a mook Mega Red is about to punch in the face with another kid, resulting in said kid being hospitalized and Mega Red having an existential crisis. THIS IS LITERALLY THE FIRST 4 MINUTES OF THE EPISODE! That is really something else. I'm sure it was really fun for all the small children watching the show to see one of their heroes nearly kill a kid. It's kind of awesome, actually. Not the punching a kid so hard his face is bleeding part, but that they went that far. I mean, as soon as the episode started with everything getting blown to crap I assumed it was going to be some dream sequence or something but because everything that happened there, you know, did, I absolutely bought Kenta's angst over the whole thing, and it was awesome seeing him get over it (with Kubota's help, because duh), and come back swinging. It was a great episode. A lot of these episodes are great episodes. I'm really into this show right now. My biggest complaint so far is that I have to sit through a way less awesome ending theme now, but even that's only going to be for ten episodes, so like, who cares? This show is awesome. |
I started Go-Busters the other day. I didn't have anything to say about the first episode, I think mostly because it was like 2 am and my brain was working at like 20% capacity or something.
Watched episode 2 just a bit ago...also don't have too much to say about it, either., actually. None of the heroes have really clicked with me so far, which is fine at this stage in the show. I can say the mecha fight was pretty cool, though. Kinda gave me slight Eva vibes, which is always cool. Too bad the spare sword was just transported instead of being hidden in buildings.... Anyway, I dunno. It's fine so far. True story: like 40% of the reason I wanted to watch this one was to hear "It's Morphin' Time" as much as possible. So far, not disappointed. There has been an acceptable number of "It's Morphin' Time"s. |
Up to episode 25 of Megaranger now. Still loving it.
Oh, Yuusaku, I bet you think you can just ride straight into my heart on that motorcycle of yours, don't you? But I know your darkest secret. That "2.5 minute" time limit on your suit? It actually just lasts as long as the episode needs it to! Bet you thought I wouldn't notice, huh? No but in all seriousness Mega Silver is pretty cool. Like I've said before, I'm naturally inclined to like Sixth Rangers, and this guy is silver and has a hoverboard that turns into a bike so, like, sign me the heck up. I really dig the irony of Yuusaku being arguably the most childish member of the team too. Not only does his personality spice up the show, it draws attention to how competent the main characters actually are at this point. Very clever. Also the Nezirezia tried to breed another army of sea monsters, this time with the intent of poisoning the oceans. Only after their plan to use humans as a fuel source for a laser to kill more humans failed, of course. Yikes. I don't think I've ever been rooting for the heroes in a show harder. |
I have the weirdest love hate relationship with Yuusaku :lol
As a character, he's hilarious. 30 something man trying to act like he's a teenager, his personality is bombastic and awesome. He's a real treat and a bright character. But Mega Silver...He just overshadows the whole team so much. There were fights where it just seemed that he didn't even need the other rangers. |
Watched 3 more episodes of Megaranger. No standout episodes to rave about but they were super fun as usual. Kouichirou and Yuusaku make a good buddy cop duo, Shun saves the day basically by himself, and Chisato's grandma is almost as nuts as the Nezirezia. Okay, nobody else is that nuts, but she does manage to steal a police car and sexually harass Kouichirou in the same episode, which is still something.
Speaking of the Nezirezia, they're still keeping up with all the crazy terrorist plans. Turning people into coral that then pollutes the environment so that people can't survive is pretty messed up. This isn't even the first time one of their plans has been "kill a bunch of people in a way that makes it easier to kill even more people". It's kind of shocking how practical even their stupidest schemes are. Quote:

See, Mega Silver's whole point IS to be more powerful than the other rangers. That was the reason a sixth ranger existed in the first place. They were there to kick ass and chew gum and then not show up for another batch of episodes. It's not like those panzy ass sixth rangers of today who are just there for toy sales and get their asses kicked as much as the rest of the team.

I've gotten up to episode 8 of Go-Busters.
So, full disclosure: it's pretty great. I didn't have much to say about the first couple of episodes, but as things quickly settled down and the team started building rapport and all that, things quickly became exponentially more entertaining. Go-Busters is only the third Sentai I've started, but it's still pretty remarkable how much of a difference a smaller cast can make. None of the other series (well, the one other series, Kyuranger really hasn't gotten far enough yet...though one can predict how that'll go already) really had enough room to focus on and build up each character and their relationships to each of the other as much as Go-Busters is already doing in just the small number of episodes I've seen. It's great. Ryuuji is probably my favorite of the three Go-Busters at the moment. (Such a shame he turns into a man eating dragonfly in about four years' time.) Also despite my general inexperience with Sentai, how nonstandard the show is shows through quite easily. It's still definitely Sentai as I have come to envision it, but it definitely takes an unique approach. To the organization, the gear, the mecha. It's pretty fun. Certain elements of the show also remind me of RPM, which is pretty much literally the best thing a Sentai could remind me of, so that's good. Go-Busters: pretty good so far. |

Go-Busters 9
Did they just spring a new ending theme on me? During a Taisen promotion ed? But why, Go-Busters? Also kinda interesting seeing Enter exhibit an emotion that isn't "smugly French" for the first time... |
I've been slowly making my way through GoGo-V and I'm on episode 31, its a pretty bipolar show with some very incredibly high highs and ridiculously dumb lows. There is an arc that spans 3 episodes, (i think 19-20-21) which was absolutely fantastic. It was borderline tough to watch because of how almost depressing and brutal they were. It was something I never expected from this and gave me super tonal whiplash. I really like GoGoRed, he is a good Red ranger; he is a bit of a dickhead which I can always get behind. Yellow Ranger is also a good character IMO, he has a clear inferiority complex to the others and his character is generally handled with more nuance than the others. Pink, Green and Blue are pretty generic with no real interesting character development as of yet outside of some individual episodes which doesnt really flesh out that much. Green has more than the other two though.
The monster / robot designs are pretty cool and unique, i especially love Salamandes. |
Up to episode 32 of Megaranger. Still pretty much head over heels for it.
The whole debut of Mega Voyager was amazing. I love the way this show treats its mecha with some real weight. It's the debut of the fancy new robot for the back half of the show but a ton of time is devoted to making sure you don't forget that Galaxy Mega is still the s***, even when it's losing. Lesser shows would just kind of forget the original guy exists as soon as the Q3 toy catalogs came out, but Megaranger is too cool for that. Also the mecha action itself is a cut above the usual stuff. That scene of Super Galaxy Mega getting knocked onto the ground had some really visually interesting shots that you don't normally see. And I'm still not sure what you're talking about with Mega Silver, Matrixbeast. He's been positively out of the way so far. Quote:

Mega Voyager's debut is positively amazing. Helps that Galaxy Mega is fully staffed, so when that robot's in peril, it's downright terrifying. Especially when Kubota's also on the line.
http://i.imgur.com/AkhrsV9.gif I guess I just didn't attach to Mega Silver, then. And yeah, I know about the deluge of episodes where he was absent (Or didn't morph) |
Since I needed a mental break from watching things to review, I watched the first 10 episodes of Dairanger today, as I haven't seen it since Shout!'s DVD first came out. It was nice to just sit back and enjoy a Sentai show again just for the sake of enjoying it.
|
Watched through episode 37 of Megaranger. I still think it's amazing. Go figure.
So first off, the Nezirezia's previously unbroken streak of pure terror finally had one stinker of a plan, but it's only because the goofy mascot monster went and made his own MotW without asking, so I'm not going to hold it against them. Like, one notable miss can't undo the fact that a couple episodes ago, they were brainwashing children into committing bombings. And despite being a pathetic freak of nature, the Canary Nezira still manages to give the Megarangers some trouble. Second, Yuusaku really is just a delight, huh? I absolutely adored episode 36's whole plot. It probably helps that it was written by Kobayashi just like a lot of the Mega Silver-centric episodes. Although Kubota was the real MVP in it. Dude not only sticks up for Mega Silver's presence when the suits try and shut him down, he later fearlessly rolls into action with the Digitank during the climax and totally saves the day. He's just some random old guy and yet is like the coolest mentor character ever, it's awesome. |
Yeah sadly I realized that when I watched Kyoryuger before I missed out of the Ganbarincho of Music movie....To the internet!
|
I finished GoGo-V today, and I really enjoyed it! I wrote an article summing up my thoughts on it here https://modamoda.moda/2017/03/20/kyu...gofive-review/ but overall I think it was a really really fun ride overall.
I started Kyoryuger today on a whim, and I am already missing the family dynamic of the Tatsumis. Also the effects seem a lot more hokey with the added CGI. Still enjoying it a lot though, KyoryuBlue is a really cool character and not the type I would expect to see in a sentai. Mech is bad though. Sad! |
I haven't touched a Sentai movie in years. By the time the fansubs come out the series has been off the air for so long that I don't even give a crap about them.
I don't even think I watched the Zyuoh vs Nin or Nin vs ToQ movies. |
Up to episode 15 of Go-Busters.
I already knew this (he stole the show in SHTZ) but I like J a lot. He's fun. Masato's something. What that something is, only time will tell. Still loving the show. Every Buster and Buddyroid has gotten some focus so far, and while I like some less than others (Usada isn't that compelling) they have a good dynamic going on. Guess it's about as good a time as any for new rangers to throw things into disarray. |
Kyuranger
I've been keeping up with Kyuranger, and I LOVE IT!!
Anything that has to do with space: That's my jam! (points to PRIS/Megaranger- favorite series ever) I've been rocking out to the theme song all morning, but it's so short- I just put it on repeat. lol One thing I love alot about Kyuranger is how each ranger has their own individual suit design- with their specific traits being exhibited. In previous shows they usually had matching base suits with different colors, different symbols or numbers, and then a different helmet- but this time it's much more excessive, each ranger's suit represents them personally, and I LOVE that! They pushed the detail this time! AHHHH I just love space sentai!! Totally hooked!! ^_^ |
I know the appropriateness of profanity in toku subs is often a topic of contention, which is why it's always kind of hilarious when the shows themselves just say whatever and have one of their characters splurt out an "oh shit!"
That Masato Jin has a potty mouth. I'm up to episode 17 of Go-Busters, with the introduction of Beet. You know, I really enjoy this show and its mecha fights, but I wish I actually liked more of the mechs themselves. Ace is like the only one that does anything for me. Oh well. |
Yeah, but that's just getting crap past the censors because it's foreign. Still funny nonetheless.
|
Watched episodes 26-35 of Dairanger today. That is all.
|
So I started watching CarRanger because I've been wanting to watch it forever and the twitch stream showing Turbo just gave me the right push.
CarRanger 2-4: Two was a lot of fun and I enjoyed seeing the Giga Formula and their side arms were awesome. Also them using a manual to figure out how to use it was hilarious. Three was great for Kyousuke learning his duty to protect the world is more important than his own dreams and that he could hurt the team with his selfishness. I also enjoyed Pink and Blue's heroic aspects of trying to save people and stop the monster from causing more havoc. Four was just move fun with Grotch going big and them trying to fight him small and nothing working. I enjoyed them trying to figure out how to fight the giant monsters, and Naoki figuring they need to build something big and Yellow telling them they should stay focused. In four episodes I feel they have pretty good characters so far: Red is driven, Blue is Smart, Yellow is Badass, Green is goofy, and Pink well I need to see more from. The action is awesome I love their weapons and their car-themed special attacks. Also Yellow and Blue are two of the best fighters on the team and I love seeing them fight. Red is also sticking out for me as well with his spirit. I love the villains I feel they are more fun and threatening than their bumbling counterparts from Turbo. Gainamo reminds me of Koro-Sensei from Assassination Classroom insanely powerful and threatening but distracted by hot women easily, Zelmoda is so much fun and kicks ass, Grotch was hilarious last episode. Dappu is pretty interesting as well and fun. I just love the ridiculousness of this show. It is amazing. |
You should just wait for the DVDs at this point. They're out in just over a month.
Anyway, another disc of Dairanger down. |
HaroRangers finished CarRanger all ready. And after those episodes it's too addicting to stop watching.
CarRanger Episode 5-7: Episode 5: Was the most hilarious Mecha Gattai sequence ever, them worrying about even succeeding with and crashing into each other was hilarious. Also how they grow with a specific Potato Jelly is funny as hell together. Episode 6: Was very weird with the Girls having a rivalry with each other for petty reasons and then get over it because Kyousuke tried to remind them they have a duty to the world and don't have the time to be petty. It was funny that they knocked him out but as Blue and Green were getting destroyed in the RV Robo they should have put their pettiness aside and defeated the monster. Though it all worked out and the two girls were fun. Episode 7: Oh my God! I love Naoki so much; learned so much about him that he is loyal to his friends that he didn't want to take more money from a new job, that he suffers from anxiety and overthinking when he thought his friends hated him, and that he was smart to use the environment around him to stop the spray and save his friends from exploding. I relate to him a lot, which doesn't surprise me as I relate to a lot of Blue Rangers in Sentai. Also, I love that they were just celebrating his birthday and they were just trying to surprise him that's why they were cold to him. Other thoughts: I love Gainamo, Grotch, and Zelmoda way more than their American counterparts. Divatox I like more than the Beauty but if you merged Divatox with the other 3's Japanese Counterparts they would have a very tough villain team together. I can't wait for more. |

And yes, I know how addicting Carranger is as the show is down right amazing. My fifth favorite Sentai show. |

CarRanger Episodes 8-10: Episode 8: This was great to see Minoru's heart and arrogance get the better of him lol. I like that he defeated a monster all by himself but losing his changer because he was posing was sloppy lol. Honestly with this episode I loved the last four episodes because it showed all of the Rangers being some sort of negative (petty, selfish, worrisome, or arrogant) and learning that they all made mistakes and got past it. Minoru fighting against the monster without his changer was awesome and crazy. Though I was happy he got his powers back and kicked ass. Episode 9: This was just a brilliant episode altogether! I loved learning about Speed King Max and more about both Kyousuke and Dappu's dreams of being race car drivers. I feel so much sorrow for Speed King Max he was amazing and how he went out of a hero after breaking through the memory loss twice. Kyousuke was so passionate and fiery after being inspired like that he was just amazing from that. Loved how he tried to fire his boss though at the garage they are a fun bunch. Episode 10: Yay! A Yellow and Blue focus episode, both Natsumi and Naoki are my favorites so far. The little brother thing came out of nowhere and was fun to see Natsumi chase Naoki. Though I loved Natsumi manipulating the enemy's own power to strengthen Naoki with the bike riding. Naoki just kicked ass this episode afterward, quite literally he gained legs of steel after that training. His moves were amazing, he landed on top of a weapon, kicked through the weapon, and defeated the monster just with a special kick move. I love Naoki and Natsumi's chemistry they are a fun pair. Natsumi was also awesome with using her mind and kicking ass too. Grotch and Zelmoda are just cruel-hearted bastards with what they did to Speed King Max. Though I do enjoy them more than I ever did with their Turbo counterparts. I love Zelmoda's design a lot. |
Minoru is my favorite character of the show and the scene when he tries to transform after losing his bracelet is just pure gold.
Oh yeah, I just finished Dairanger. Ugh the make up in the last bit is horrible but still a phenomenal show nonetheless. |
More CarRanger, this show is addicting lol.
CarRanger Episode 11-13: Episode 11: Ah the piss Pink off and she'll destroy you episode. She is definitely the stereotypical woman, with getting upset that she gained a few Kilos. (Which I converted into Pounds she literally was upset over nothing lol.) It was a lot of fun. Episode 12: SignalMan! The craziest space Police Officer ever! I love him so much. He fights amazingly and I Just love his rapport with Red Racer that was so much fun them getting angry with each other in the beginning. Also, SignalMan learned that he has allies. It was great Red Racer pulling everyone back after they weren't able to fight. Also that Gynamo actually hates SignalMan for embarrassing him was great to see emotion from him. Episode 13: This was great to see Zonette actually take to the field. She actually had a solid plan stilling Wooling fell for Pink Racer. Tricking SignalMan into thinking the CarRangers were the enemies was a great idea. This turned into a great fight between SignalMan and Red Racer. Zonette wanting to battle was great too. I always loved the Sirender since I saw it in Turbo with the Blue Senturion, I love it here with Signal Man too. It's just such a badass Mecha. SignalMan just adds more craziness to the cast. I also love SignalMan's signature move of shooting them in the leg, it is a great plan of attack. This show is just total fun! CarRanger Episodes 14-16: Episode 14: This was fantastic for Zelmoda, and also learning Gynamo and Zelmoda's backstory too. It was interesting that Zelmoda and Minoru both were scared of Lightning, but I just loved that Zelmoda's friendship with Gynamo helped inspire him to get over his fear of Lightning so he could obtain more power to battle the CarRangers. Minoru was just hilarious getting over his fear of Lightning by just eating Electric Eel. I thought Zelmoda getting over his fear was better but Minoru was just hilariously motivated to kick ass and that was amazing. Episode 15: Oh man Zonette was just obsessing over Kyousuke here. She was struck by Cupid's arrow hard. This was just a hilarious episode with Zonette coming on to Red Racer all the time and The Roach finally getting some time here since he grew lol. Episode 16: The introduction of Professor Riiiiiitchhiker! First of all he has an amazing design and two his plan was great. I love this guy he is a lot of fun. His plan almost got the CarRangers if Signalman didn't know who he was and Ritchhiker explaining his plan to Signalman. SignalMan continues to be fun and badass. I loved him coming in wounded and saving the Rangers from Ritchhiker. Jetton was something else with his moves, he fought like a wrestler. Though the CarRangers kicked his butt back with their special moves and I love that they all have a special move. This continues to be so much fun, also the characters are so alive in this show. With characters and the Villains are amazing. Next Wave of CarRanger Episodes! CarRanger Episodes 17-19: Episode 17: SignalMan is so easily tricked, I feel so bad for him because of his naivety. Though, it's more Professor Ritchhiker's plans are really good lately. Using the Jacket to turn SignalMan angry and fight against the CarRangers just turned into even more hilarity. Especially when Sirender got the giant coat on too. Though it was a nice use of the team splitting up and trying to save SignalMan. Episode 18: The two-part Vacation time episodes! This was a brilliant episode for Natsumi and why she is one of my favorite female Yellows ever so far. I liked that she believed in the girl that was telling the truth even though she lied before because of her past event and made the girl want to be better herself. Also, Natsumi's determination and courage to fight even with her Accel Changer broke was amazing. Also, that she fixed it with a pin was amazing too, I love her Engineering ability. Episode 19: Also, at the vacation spot which logically makes it that SignalMan wouldn't be here lol. Back to the Zonette loves Red Racer storyline. I'm intrigued at Kyousuke wanting to try and be friends with her because he didn't like the pain he caused her. Also, this leads to the fun as heck Baseball episode too. I loved Kyousuke's determination to learn the Invisible Swing. Another batch of fun episodes. Ritchhiker and SignalMan are welcome additions and Zonette's love Story is fun too. The CarRangers get great focus episodes lately. I can't wait for more. Apparently no one else posting means I keep extending this post. CarRanger Episode 20-22: Episode 20: I love Pegasus Thunder and Dragon Cruiser! Such better names than Storm Blaster or Lightning Cruiser. Also, It was great to see Naoki and Kyosuke play off each other because they don't really get to share the screen that often. It was fun seeing Naoki getting angry at Kyosuke for playing around when he was supposed to practicing. I loved Kyosuke's spirit and determination to tame Pegasus Thunder so he could save Naoki and Dragon Cruiser. Also great to see Naoki fight off the Wumpers without powers and put his life on the line to protect Dragon Cruiser. It was enjoyable to see that CarRanger didn't need to have a Giant Robo battle every time. Episode 21: Another Yellow and Pink focus episode. Anything with Natsumi is great. She is just so strong and smart that she is amazing especially building the Navi weapon to beat the monster. Yoko was a lot of fun and reminded me of myself at times with my lack of sense of direction though I know left and right lol. I enjoyed her determination to make up for her mistakes and wanting to prove herself useful. It felt that it improved her character a lot. Episode 22: A SignalMan focus episode Yay! One actually of him growing past his programming from school. Also he was cute when he was kid too. I enjoy when Kyosuke and him team up they have great chemistry. I loved SignalMan's emotions here when he couldn't save the president's son. When he finally saved them getting past the rules with courage and decisiveness was brilliant. The battles were awesome, the fight scenes are awesome. The Giant Robo battles were awesome too. The Bowzock have been fantastic, I loved the tension between Professor Ritchhiker and Zelmoda and just Professor Ritchhiker has been a gem this series. I can't wait for more. |
Akibaranger, Jojo, Dragon Ball, & Zyuranger Makes Me Gooey
Watching: Parts of Zyuranger. I really wish I had a functioning costume of Daizyujin/Megazord, with total accuracy to the original costume, and be able to wear it and walk in it.
Watched: Always taking time out of the year to watch Akibaranger. I can never understand where the rumor started that there's supposed to be a manga adaptation of that Z-Cune Aoi stuff drawn by the same guy who drew Black Cat and To Love Ru. Pretty sure that was thrown around the net for a bit, and never saw anything. Looked a little interesting, but seemed a little bit generic from what the show had given us in Akagi's delusions. Wanting to Watch: The next episode of Dragon Ball Super and Idubbbz recent upload. Wanting To Rewatch: Part 3 and 4 of Jojo. I can never get enough of the soundtrack, the design, and the openings to those two. Bloody Stream wasn't as good to me. Sono Chi No Sadame was great and all, but I lost interest in the normal one once I found a version made by someone that has the ASB sound effects going on in it. Amazing. |
Someone else posted yay! Lol
CarRanger Episodes 23-25: Episode 23: Yay! A Naoki Episode, and I love Naoki episodes. He is my Sentai Spirit Animal lol, I get nervous around attractive women too. I enjoyed that he was both nervous and trying to protect the princess the whole time, even with being too anxious to transform again. I loved his disguises that he used to trick the Bowzock and knock off his medal that was powering him. Naoki just got better when he had to save the princess and wasn't nervous anymore leading him to kicking ass again. I love his fighting style full of kicks and more awesome moves. Naoki episodes are the best. Episode 24: Minoru and Kyosuke dual focus episode. I love Dual Focus episodes and CarRanger does do a lot of them. This was just a crazy misunderstanding between two of the craziest members of the team. Minoru thought Kyosuke was being selfish when Kyosuke is one of more selfless members of the team, compared to Minoru. Lol Minoru bumbled being leader but it was great to see him work with Kyosuke though. Though Kyosuke's flying body slam on the Wumpers was amazing, I think Kyosuke is winning favorite Red possibly right now for me. Also, Red Racer using both his swords was completely awesome too. Though Minoru's charm is in his goofiness and makes him a fun character. Episode 25: Ah Radietta, The White Racer I've been waiting for her since I saw stuff about CarRanger before I started watching it. She was completely fun. Though I like how Kyosuke feels sympathy after he messes up and says the wrong thing to her. The Boso Sentai ZokuRanger was completely hilarious and I love all the references to past Sentai and how long SS Paman's attack name was when he was giant. This was just a complete blast of an episode. I can't wait for more. |
Did you pay attention to the song lyrics during the battle with the Zoku Rangers? If not, watch that scene again and read the lyrics. :lol
|

CarRanger Episode 26: Normally I would watch in 3 episode blocks but I didn't have time because of coincidentally Car trouble lol. Man Minoru is a special kind of fun, sending out the wrong box and then having to drive to Hokkaido; just wow especially with learning how far Hokkaido is from Tokyo. Though Minoru and SignalMan were a hilarious comedy duo, that should play them off each other more. I love that the Bowzock was just buying stuff over the phone and attacking them with whatever it was very Wile E. Coyote-ish. I like how the other four and Dragon Cruiser just left Minoru after he told Ichitarou's joke lol that was great. Kyosuke's crazy plan was fun to ship the packages back, and I just loved Natsumi being like what are we doing? I just love this team and how they all work together and react, they are a crazy bunch. The Giga Booster is awesome too. Loved Naoki being the one suggesting Minoru tell a joke to make up for taking so long so they can see what they missed lol. Weirdly enough this was the first episode without Bowzock leaders and HQ in it. I can't wait for more. |
Well with no more Twitch streams to distract me I finally got back around to Megaranger, watching up to episode 43. This probably goes without saying but I loved it.
This show is SO good at getting tense when it needs to. The second the Nezirangers show up you know things aren't looking good for the heroes. It's like the Nezirezia were trying extra hard to make up for that one lame plan a few episodes back. Not many Sentai villains think to try beating the protagonists at their own game like this. All these episodes were great and really brought out the best in pretty much all the characters, including some awesome pathos from Kubota because of course. I also really like how a huge part of the Nezirangers' downfall is their total inability to actually function as a team. That's a very "show don't tell" way to get across the usual message of teamwork Sentai pushes, which is cool. |
J is the friggin' best.
Especially when he's just being a funny background event. Dude is pure entertainment. Up to episode 27 of Go-Bus, and still loving it. |
CarRanger Episodes 27-30: Episode 27: I was waiting for this episode lol, I remember in Turbo they got baked in Pizza and this was the CarRanger episode of it. it was totally ridiculous. Lol being attacked by Pizza everywhere was hilarious. Though, it was great to learn about SignalMan's family and how he really wanted to go back but didn't want to abandon his duty, it made me feel so bad for him. Though, SignalMan kicked ass in this episode and was awesome. I was shocked at the ending when Zelmoda kidnapped Ichitarou, I wasn't expecting that.
Episode 28: The continuation of the Bowzock Festival and more feels from SignalMan. SignalMan kicked ass once again and I was really happy he got these focus episodes. I loved him saving Ichitarou while the others were being Flashy. I was happy that the CarRangers helped get SignalMan home so he could be there for his son. That was just so nice of them. I will be awaiting SignalMan's return. Episode 29: Well Ritchihiker's power up happened from being exposed to the evil energy last episode and well this has been something else. He's gotten smarter and just hijacked the Bowzock for himself. I loved Grotch and Zelmoda's loyalty towards Gainamo, till they were given a ton of money lol. I felt bad for both Gainamo and Zonnette for being kicked out. The Braking robo is something else and Ritchihiker was amazing as the villain here. The CarRangers were fighting their hearts out here, though Dapp's hibernation put them in a pickle. Episode 30: Though the pickle is saved by VRV Master! Who is completely awesome and slightly ridiculous so perfect for the show. The Lone Wolf of Space was awesome and I just loved how he gave the CarRangers the VRV Machines, which are awesome so far. Kyousuke was great this episode inspiring everyone not to give up, and to fight even if they can't win. I enjoyed Naoki in the V-Police and charging head on against the Braking and causing him trouble. Natsumi was great battling in the V-Dozer against Ritchihiker. Yoko shooting Braking in the butt was amazing and Minoru was fun with the V-Dump. Loved them kicking Ritchihiker back to the Bowzock base. I can't wait to see what comes next with the VRV Master and Machines added to the CarRangers. |
