Goddamn. We lost Ozzy. Always figured he'd outlive everyone...
https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...tuary-1227265/ |
We now live in a world without Ozzy and Dio.
|
It's interesting because about 2 weeks ago I started listening to Sabbath's discography in order during my commutes. Tuesday was the day I finished Never Say Die (Ozzy's last album with Sabbath until the 2013 reunion) and he died the same day.
It's crazy going back and seeing just how unprecedented their heaviness was in 1970. The first few notes of Black Sabbath (the song) must have hit like an absolute freight train. It's crazy to think that he's no longer with us, but honestly it's also a bit crazy that he lasted as long as he did, given how much he embraced the rockstar lifestyle. At least he got a send off worthy of his legacy with Back to the Beginning. And then Hulk Hogan died too. While he's had his fair bit of controversies, and I certainly don't agree with or endorse a lot of what he's said or done, I've enjoyed his work over the years and am still bummed that he's gone. It's no exaggeration to say that both of these men had an incomparable impact on their respective industries and that the world would not be the same without them. Also RIP to Chuck Mangione, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and everybody else we've lost recently as well |
It's the same with anyone in any form of media entertainment,
you have to separate the person from their work. Just a shame the work is not always reflective of the real person. Whatever I thought of the man, Hulk Hogan the wrestler is going to be missed. |

Cyberpunk + Biopunk + Nanopunk = Omnipunk.

I just finished the rest of the Devil May Cry show on Netflix. As someone who has been a big fan since the early 2000s, I personally enjoy it a lot. I do look forward to seeing Season 2 and maybe beyond. My pros and cons of the show
Pros: Solid animation and good voice performances The action is fast-paced, and the gore is over the top much like the games I like some of the music choices. For once, it did felt refreshing to have some 00s nostalgia than stuff from the 80s. While I wish they did a direct adaption of the games, I do give them credit for doing their own story. The show does not take itself too serious, as I did like the humor. Dante's personality is spot on. I also enjoy that they added White Rabbit and Enzo Ferino from the manga. It was nice that they use some stuff from other DMC media. Cons: Not a fan of the CGI. It does look iffy at times Some odd choices in the story, like the scientific reason for how demons exist. I like that the show has a message on prejudice and how shitty the US government is, but I wish they did more with it. Hopefully, Season 2 will go more into it. I also didn't like that they made Lady into some cruel, foul-mouthed person. It felt like such a strange creative take on the character. |
I saw Lady Gaga tonight. I wasn't a huge fan, more of a casual enjoyer who really liked a couple of her songs, but that was absolutely one of the best concerts I've ever seen, and I've seen over 100.

I've been thinking about checking out Garo lately. It seems like a nice change of pace from the usual Sentai and Rider stuff, and it'll be cool to see a more mature take.
How is the violence? Is it super edgy like the Rider shows on Amazon Prime? |

Hello all, good afternoon! Tis my annual date of birth recognition event!
Decades ago on this day, for a good few years in a row, I'd have now been enjoying my newly opened Zords! |

Thankyou!
The birthdays while growing up with Power Rangers were definitely the most memorable. The one exactly thirty (thirty!) years ago would have been my first, what with starting proper with season two. This day back then, I now had the Red Dragon Thunderzord, and in a couple of days from now I would go out into town with the grandparents and with my birthday money get myself the Thunderzord Assault Team. Then spend that afternoon once back at their house putting together the Thunder Megazord for the first time! The next birthday, and the next season, was round the grandparents again where I received the Shogun Megazord. I got and was able to open the Falconzord a couple of days before, so then on the day I not only got to put together the Megazord for the first time but the MegaFalconzord too! The next birthday was my last for Power Rangers, I finished with Zeo and once more again round the grandparents I got the Zeo Megazord. Was the last big Power Rangers toy I ever got from the original run and during childhood! |

Thanks!
I mentioned of course the birthdays in the post already. But it was the Christmases between those where either I or my younger brother got the other Zords to expand the respective teams between us! Christmas 95 I got White Tigerzord and my brother got Tor, Christmas 96 he got Ninja Megazord and then for his own birthday the following February he got Return Of Titanus, which meant we also had the one Zord from the original team brand new! |
Ever wondered what it would be like if Kyoryu Silver and the Double Driver were golf rivals? Watch the Japanese dub of the Happy Gilmore movies. :lolol

A secret Super Hero Taisen movie lol |

Morikawa who voiced Torin/Kyoryu Silver is Adam Sandler/Happy Gilmore and Fumihiko Tachiki who voiced the Double Driver is Christopher McDonald/Shooter McGavin. Netflix has the Japanese dub of both movies for those interested, by the way. |
Please delete post, made mistake

Gacha catch 'em all.
It's actually kind of sad that a gacha game looks like a better Pokemon game than actiual Pokemon games nowadays. Yeah I know the gameplay for this is autochess and not actually monster catching, but still. The idea of them (most likely) locking mons behind a banner is next level consumerism though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGfTS72aEOs |
There was an announcement about a reboot of the ChouSeishin Series, but nothing has happened since.

I just woke up from this strange dream. In it I was a lost prince and when I was found by my kingdom they immediately welcomed me back and held a banquet. The first thing they served me was the hearts of my enemies. It was a very strange dream.

I dreamed that I was captured and instead of being put in prison they put me in a tent to sell fruit. And for some reason, instead of escaping or my future fate, I was worried about the fact that I got an unfortunate place where there were no buyers.
