Why ruin the surprise!

I just marathoned the last episodes of Kiva, and now I think I can give my thoughts.

Overall I enjoyed the series. Wataru was a good, solid, Main Rider and Nago-Kun made a good Secondary. I'm pleased they toned down Shizuko midway through, but saddened they phased her almost out of the series completely. And that's really my overwhelming feeling with the whole series. It was good.. But not without flaws.
IXA is a good example. He used Garuru Fake once, only once, and never explained how he obtained knowldge of them. He had the Sticks for the rest. Yet he only used the ability that one and only time.
Where did Sagark come from? Is he part of the Kivat Bloodline?
Usually, when I watch a Rider series, I feel the Feels. When Kengo 'died' in Fourze when Mezool died and said I love you, Gamel. This show.. It had feels but I didn't feels them.
And then we come to the elephant in the room. That ending, Oh My God What The Hell, that ending. Not The Wedding of Megumi and Nago, that was alright. But Wataru's son from the damn future? .. That's how they end the series?! That I had a real damned problem with.
The real star of this series though is the music. Every peice was Epic and made the scenes worth watching even moreso.

It's a series I enjoyed, but with glaring flaws, and nothing I'd watch again.

I loved Kiva but I never really let the glaring flaws bother me and enjoyed a lot of things and really want to watch it again lol.

Watched Faiz 28 and 29, really picking up right now. I love Kitazaki and totally not what I was expecting but totally fits for him and knew he was going to be Delta for a bit. I love the Delta outfit looks awesome. I like Sawada joining the Lucky Clover, I find them like the precursors to the Greeed. I'm seeing a lot of things I liked from OOO kind of in Faiz. I loved the awkward dinner scene with the 6 of the main two trinities were eating and asking questions to each other it was so funny. I am happy that we are finally getting Takumi and Yuuji knowing about each other finally. I can't wait for more. Onto Kuuga next.

There may be hope for you yet. :lol

My biggest flaw with Kiva was the disconnect between Kiva and Wataru.
They go way out of their way to portray Wataru as a mousy, quiet shut in with no real aggression, but Kiva's fighting style is wild and unrestrained. It never gave me the feeling that Wataru was in the suit until Emperor form showed up.

Oh, and Wataru's son and Kivat Bat the 4th were so that they could use the original Kiva suit in the finale.

That didn't make it any less WTF :lol

Something else I forgot to mention.

Those stunning visuals. The original Wake Up! kick, Gururu/Bashaa/Dogga's finishers.. Used once and then forgotten. That really disappointed me.

A fundamentally flawed show, with some great concepts that are sadly underused. That's Kiva in a nutshell.

Kiva loved to introduce things and never use them: the fake fuestles, powered ixer, shodoran, buroon booster, even the other forms of Kiva fall on that train.

Sagarc is well... a Sagarc, one of the thirteen Demon Races, not like that was ever explained in the show, out of the 13, the Fangire are the most numerous.

Kiva was brutal and rarely speaked, Wataru was shy and always stuttered, he looked frail. Emperor and Wataru did feel closer though.

That ending, crazy but at that point I honestly didn't care much.

Of the ending I liked seeing Kouhei Takeda again and seeing New Kiva, leads me to beleive that at some point Dark also had a base Kiva form, and that it's natural for the Kiva suit to evolve.

Emperor man, frigging Emperor stealing the spotlight.

Ain't that the truth. They used that Booster once, only once. Shame to I loved that thing. I never saw the disconnect though. I always saw Kiva has Wataru's true self coming through.

But it's not. Why is Kiva Kiva form's fighting style so much different from Kiva Emperor's fighting style if they're both "Wataru's true self?"

Kiva Base was Wataru's Instincts, Kiva Emperor was Heart Body and Soul working as one revealing him.

So now I've finished Dairanger, and I can't start the next season of GARO until I find the time to check out the last movie and Gaim still ain't subbed, I decided to go back to Faiz for a bit. So episode three!

This episode was profoundly boring. Nothing happened for like 18 minutes of this episode. When the monster showed up and they found some underground school I thought shit would start getting interesting, but no, pretty much the entire focus of the episode was some couple made up of a moron and a loser. When your superhero show rests its action on getting dry cleaning delivered, you know you have serious issues. Hell I know barely fuck all about my protagonists yet, without this shit.

I will say, I do like Takumi and Mari's dynamic, and I guess it will probably grate with time, right now I do kind of like that Takumi isn't just a plot device to make characters dump heaps of exposition like so many other toku protagonists are, during the first quarter of their seasons.

Takumi's attitude really makes fights a lot of fun as well, even if they are so very brief, he really does feel pretty unique. Although how did he suddenly have such an understanding of the Driver? His finisher wasn't bad at all, either, considering he appeared to kill the monster with a digital camera on his fist.

You don't want to even bother with the third season of Garo, it is down right terrible. You might as well just watch Lion Maru G, at least it knows it is crap.

Well I still have the second season to watch first!

Faiz 04.

Once again the episode was fairly boring, it was just so damn slow, at least now Takumi is all in so I'm hoping the show picks up a bit more.

Still, I thought it was cool when the enemy started wielding the Faiz belt, only to get beaten by Takumi's Autobot motorbike and I did like how that bullied kid turned into a monster and just murdered all the bullies. I dreamed of that when I was at school.

It is slow at first, at episode 5 it does pick up, and when you get to the other main characters and main villains it does pick up a lot.

Watched Kuuga 28 and loved how they figured out the Grongi's musical theme, and just love Rising Dragon form so much, his weapon is so badass. I really liked Minori's speech about life to her friend too. Also Ichijo is really smart and I like that a lot with his skills I really wish he would've become the secondary rider of this it would've been awesome.

I'll look forward to it then!

Finished episode 29 of Kuuga, I like how Tsubaki and Ichijo worry about Yusuke. I also like how Yusuke switched forms on the fly that's useful and pretty nice. Jean I find is a really interesting character from this too. The artist guy's story I hope is useful because it kind of seemed unneeded to me. Also damn the Grongi are tough being able to take a fall from a building that high and live is something else.

Continuing from that I watched Episodes 30 and 31 of Kuuga. Rising Mighty form is something else that explosion was huge! Man that was out of nowhere, also the artist guy I knew looked familiar and was there to show more for Tsubaki's character. The next recap episode was good progressing the story and reminding you what happened. Can't wait for more Kuuga vs the Scarf Grongi.

Also watched 30 and 31 of Faiz which was basically Kusaka going back to his deceitful asshole ways in trying to deceive both Takumi and Yuuji. I like Sawada and his story arc so far, intrigued to see where it goes. Also like Keitarou and Kaidou's change that was funny. I liked seeing Takumi and Yuuji work together I hope to see more of that and their friendship without Kusaka messing things up. Kitazaki as Delta is still awesome and Takuma is scared out of his mind man these villains are fun.

I'm trying to pick up Wizard again, on episode 26. I don't really know whether I like this show or not. The plot's progressing a little too slowly for my liking, and I don't like Beast very much, but the action continues to be great, and I find myself laughing at quite a few of the jokes. Some of them, like the doughnut stand owner, are a little obnoxious, but I don't mind the occasional crossdressing Shunpei or mahou shoujo Beast.
Haruto's actor is the master of subtle humor though. Great with business too.

The sad thing is, cross dressing Shunpei is the highlight of his character. He made a far better girl than he did a boy.

High five!

It's so nice that someone else gets it.

And I'm glad I wasn't the only one unimpressed with Beast when he first entered the show.

Up through Wizard 24: I was going to comment on some of the story developments in the last few episodes, but Magical Girl Beast has me cracking up too much right now.

Watched Faiz 32 and 33 and well a lot of emotional and intriguing things happen that I'm not going to spoil in case people watch it. Still Kusaka is a manipulative asshole and the Delta Gear is pretty sweet. Intrigued with what happens to Mari especially after what Sawada did. Really good so far.

I'm pretty sure after the Magical Girl Beast episode, that was when the show really started to go downhill. It then improves again on the lead up to the climax, before the climax wraps the series up awfully but with wonderful action.

I watched Kuuga episode 32 and 33 and really liked the Resolution of the Scarf Grongi arc. Great use of different ways to try and defeat him, the police, Yusuke working the other main officers that work with Ichijou, and an awesome new bike. Intriguing development with Kuuga being able to apparently win this game the Grongi are playing (hard to tell without the Grongi's language being subbed.) Great to see more of Yusuke with the Police as it's been Yusuke with his friends lately. I am also intrigued with what's causing the huge over a mile explosions from the Rising Mighty form. There is so much I really love about Kuuga right now.

Just watched Superhero taisen Z ( raw )

It was much better than the first.

Me started watching Wizard yesterday, let's see how good this series going, especially for my taste (so far liking it tho, if they got bunch of hella good action, I'm in, I won't mind a slow plot or blablabla thing, looking for entertainment here). Me also watched Gaim episodes 1 this day, so awesome, nothing to worry about this series so far ^_^

It's not perfect by any stretch. But it was much much better!

At some point towards the end , Gavan gets saved in the dumbest way imaginable. It's cute , but I even shook my head at it.

If any two filmmakers can find out, it's Kaneda and Yonemura.

Grab a shovel, dig trough the barrel, proceed to fall.

I'm watching Kamen Rider Gaim right now... I have the biggest smile on me right now.
