I always don't understand, what "True Bone Carving" means?

I believe it’s also meant to represent their evolution as a figure company. The earliest SHFs were done by recreating a skeleton in an attempt to get an accurate look — which didn’t turn out so well and is why SHFs had a spindly, proportionately off appearance for quite a while. As such, “true” bone carving is representing them getting it right; imagining these figures and sculpts as people inside suits; as of course all Tokusatsu designs are. Basically, it took em a bit, but they finally got the skeleton thing down!

Yep, proportions has always been a recurring issue in the SH Figuarts line for Kamen Rider. This isn't just an issue among early Figuarts. Even modern, non-SS Figuarts don't exactly have perfect proportions and sometimes they go completely off the book.

The Zi-O and Zero One Figuarts, while good figures, definitely feel a bit off in terms of proportions IMO.
Ex-aid and Build are peak, non-SS, Figuarts. |
