I honestly don't think its going to Mario related anyway. I'm fully expecting the image to just be clever usage of a "?" image to throw fans into wild speculation.

I completely expect nothing out of the ordinary from this, be it Tiger Ranger or any other non-toku Figuart.

Slim to non unfortunately. There's a mentality in Japan that villains don't sell so they rarely if ever get made. Nasca had to win a fan poll to get made I think.

that bites cause I would like to pose candelilla and luckyuro with kamen rider bravo. hopefully we get a mage figuart, which would most likely be a premium Bandai item.

Well, all the major rider villains from W to Wizard are available + a few showa.
For Sentai, there's not much, but I'd rather see all the team completed (Jetman, Go-Busters,..).

I'd say Bravo has a fair shot.

It's not really just that villains don't sell, though that's partially true, but rather that monsters don't sell. There's been plenty of villain rider Figuarts, sometimes before main characters.

I just hope for a reissue of amazon. I love the look of organic type riders and if it happens I hope his bike the jungler gets released. amazon is one of my all time fav riders.

Exactly. Kaijin sell terribly there. Kids don't idolize the bad guys, they all want to be the hero. And with the adult collectors the line is primarily focused at, they just don't want the villains. That is unless they're villainous rider and sentai like characters. They stand much greater chances.

Bravo is an actual rider so I don't think there's a question there, it's not quite like Shadow Moon where yes he's a rider like character but is more kaijin than rider. But take for example Enter as Dark Red Buster. Clearly a sentai styled suit but he's a kaijin at the same time. Some of us, myself included, would buy him based on his sentai-y nature as well as a love for the character. But if Japanese fans don't like his villainous character, then Bandai sees no reason to make that toy. Or at least they don't see any possibility of it being a good seller.

Short form, villains never sell well and probably won't any time soon. The Dopants sold terribly, the Greeds sold terribly and they were all exclusive, the Zodiarts sold so poorly they shuffled the last half them over to the dead zone of Toei-Hero.net AND they wound up as Zeros instead of full SHFs, and Wizard only saw the release of 2 phantoms as Web exclusives. The bad guy ship has sailed.

You know, I just don't understand that. When I was a kid, my favorite characters were Megatron, Galvatron, Destro, Zartan, Serpentor, Mr Freeze, Catwoman, Cy-Kill, Magmar, Skeletor, Hordak, Goldar, Zedd, Demona, etc.

Yeah, the heroes were cool and all, but nothing topped the villains.

Sort of a cultural divide, I guess. They consider villains more or less ancillary to the heroes.

We consider them inseparable.

This is my speculation: Mario would belong in D-Arts if it's articulated. Like Sigma from MegaMan was released under FiguartsZero, the only logical conclusion is that Mario might be FiguartsZero

Over there, villains are mostly just mindless monsters. Not something you focus on, they're basically just targets for the hero to take down. That's how it's been for a long time. Here, however, villains are generally more characters in their own right than just adversaries.

Funny how Toku villains won't sell well, but anime monster villains like the DBZ villains will. Last time I check, DBZ and Kamen Rider have the same target audience in Japan.

That's different. Tamashii Nations isn't really making Jyurangers just to ship them off to America. It's not like there was anything downright unpopular about Jyuranger in Japan.

So is it true all the DBZ Figuarts are terrible?

From what I've seen,the only downside is their shoulder covers when their wearing the orange gi's.They're not connected to the chest,they're a ball socket on the back of the shoulder.

Not all of them. I have SSJ Vegeta and he gets the job done pretty well as expected as any other Figuarts.

Going from what I've seen at the NYC comic con interview that the other Zyurangers got made because of the US market. I hear Kiba Ranger's design is more popular in the US then it is in Japan.

Dairanger in general wasn't very popular in Japan, as I recall. I hope we still get figures of the other four, though. I really do love the costume designs.

what are the quality of 000s figuarts? because i just started watching the show and love them

I swear this just came up in this very thread a few days ago. But it might have been another one.

As I understand it, most of them have looseness issues in the joints, but the later body is improved, I think that's PuToTyra and BuraKaWani. I don't remember if TaJaDor is in the first group or not.

I got a recent reissue of TaToBa, and the sideways swing of the hips is a little loose, but it's nothing bad. My big problem with the mold is the ankle is pretty limited, compared to most other Figuarts. I hate it when the foot has no ankle articulation, and is just a socket plugging into a ball on the end of the leg. :(

Let's see:

Cell's head falls off too easily
Freeza's right leg falls off just from looking at it wrong
Saiyan Vegeta's left leg is loose and falls of and his scouter cannot stay attached even with the hair style you are supposed to have it on with.
Piccolo's arms fall off all of the time.
Gohan's hands are too loose
Trunk's right arm falls off

I no longer have Trunks or Gohan, but I don't recall having those problems with either of them. Piccolo's arms have never fallen off. I haven't opened Goku or Freeza yet.

Point being, it probably varies a little bit from figure to figure. I've seen a couple people complain about RyuRanger, even so far as to say it's the worst Sentai Figuart, but mine's perfectly solid, and is in fact one of my favorite Sentai Figuarts.

That's weird, cause when I'm on the Rangerboard it's the exact opposite. Most folks feel the early Sentai figures (MMPR, Shinkenger, Boukenger) are pretty dodgy. That said, my recent purchase of MMPR Pink & KR Fourze Cosmic States had an issue. Left wrist peg on Pink looks like a chip is missing, & Fourze Cosmic's right leg-hip joint is weak. These are right out of the box. Doesn't change my love for them, just bums me out.

Honestly, unless it's an obvious issue that everyone's copy of a figure has, QC can vary from person to person. Even common issues may not happen to everyone.

Lots of complaints about OOO TaToBa's QC, such as sloppy paint and bad joints, mine was perfectly fine. Lots of complaints about Wizard Flame Style not being able to stay connected his waist peg if his life depended on it, mine stays together fine.

If there's a problem with a release, it's still likely that some people will be fine.

To pull this thread back on track, how do people think the gimmick will be handled for SHF Tokkyugers if at all? Do you think we'll get swappable chest plate numbers with each figure or will Bandai not bother?
