Yeah, unfortunately and probably predictably there was no way to replicate the complex starry pattern with paint, so it is all stickers all the way despite how amazing the rest of the line's been so far with paint apps. And just continuing with the downsides, the Haouken's emblem can't move up and down the blade either!

On the plus side, the stickers do allow them to capture even the most obscure details like the small stardust in the background, and he does end up looking lovely nonetheless.

Xross Espada?

Sadly just a test shot the design team made to figure out how they could do XCross

It's really funny that they showed this off, but this is basically part of the SO-DO Developers' development of Xross Saber where at one point they thought they might be able to reproduce it with clear plastic; and so they used Espada as a test. Why Espada? They note that they can't even remember why!

The entire blog is basically, like, detailing a battle between the dev team and Xross Saber's design and how impossible it was for them. Keep in mind; this is the team that has managed to tackle incredible stuff before like Decade Complete 21's cards or Vulcan Rampage Gatling's robo animal skeletons, and go above and beyond to include as much paint apps and extra accessories as possible. So for THIS to give them this much trouble and frustration, woo boy, you know this was a hard one for them!

Oh god, this is going to be a pain to sticker. I can't blame G-San though, they put him in an impossible situation with this suit. I appreciate the sheer amount of work they took into trying to make it work

And keep in mind, uh. There are at least two more Xross Sabers!

Lord... I feel learning to how paint would be faster and less stressful than doing that at least three times, probably one more in the last episode too

I called it was going to be a pain to sticker, although I joped they'd manage to at least paint a bot of it. Honestly I probably would've preferred them using clear glitter for this. Also, just imagine how muxh of a pain the other forms are going to be, when Brave Dragon has one of the smoothest designs of all the armours.

Maybe they can return to this clear/glitter format when they do Kamen Rider Meteor!
