I suppose the males could come with 1, 2, and 4 chests and the females could come with 3 and 5. They'd have to make two versions of each color if they wanted to do anything more, and I'm doubtful that that'll happen.

If they do the Tokkyugers they'll probably just have them in 'default' mode with whatever numbers the press pictures generally show them having.

The problem being that while the colors shift,the body type remains the same, so simply swapping the numbers would mean that 2 numbers would not work with the male or the female body :(

It seems like a waste of time and money to make the same figure with a different number on them.

D-Arts Megaman and the Godzilla MonsterArts were also made for the international market. The Godzilla MA figures sell better in the US then they do in Japan.

Hopefully there won't be any gimmick.

Of course, unless Tokkyuger is well written (and I pray to the mighty gods it is), I might not even bother with the Figuarts because the suits are just down right awful. AkibaRanger looks more like a Sentai team than these guys.

It seems like such an important gimmick of the show that I can't imagine they wouldn't do it, but I'm not sure how they'd pull off different little numbers inside the helmet, without just giving you 5 different heads for each figure.

Letting the males turn into the other males and the two females into each other makes sense, since they could just release a male pink/yellow body and a female red/blue/green as exclusives. But that would be assuming everyone except red isn't already an exclusive and I just don't think the Sentai guys sell well enough for them to bother. Maybe every release could be a 2-pack, with a male and female varient for each? :D

Man, do you just get bad QC samples of EVERYTHING? The only time my figures ever have issues is usually when they're used. When I buy new, everything is pretty stellar. One arm on my Gohan likes to fall off, but it'll stay in just fine.

I don't think it will. In the same way that Gaim figuarts probably won't have figures of all the various arms per figure. Possibly just the ones used most on the show. They'll reserve that feature for the gimmick line. I think.

I think they look great. Back to simple. Lends itself better to the color swapping.

If the show is successful and they do the gimmick, it wouldn't surprise me if the main bodies are normal/exclusive releases like normal, and then all the swap parts would be some huge premium bandai set.

BTW, Tiger Ranger is coming out in Japan in June.

I'd guess July or August. So in a year's time we'll have the Zyurangers/MMPR completed.

As odd as it is for me to do this, I agree with Dr Kain. I'm collecting Zyurangers, not Power Rangers. MMPR was pivotal in my childhood did introduce me to toku but as an adult I'd had the chance to experience the source material it's made from. And when comparing the two, it's clear which one I enjoy and appreciate more

It's not about purism so much as preference based on experience. For me at least. But that would never keep me from buying some cool Power Rangers exclusive type thing like the rumored/proposed Armed Black Ranger. The yellow female ranger just doesn't do anything for me.

And I understand & respect that, for whatever it's worth. Perhaps if I get the chance to see Zyuranger I might like it more, but I'm partial to what I've grown up with. Just seems to me we're all too quick the discard our childhood treasures for the current trends. But again, it's just my opinion.

Trini/Yellow Ranger for me please. If for no other reason to honor Thuy.

I plan to pick up the Yellow Male Ranger as well since I like Zyuranger better. I bought the US retail release of Red Ranger and Green Ranger since they were the same thing and it was cheaper then to import them.

Oh man, I pre-orders for MMPR Blue are sold-out where I have MMPR Black pre-ordered, sure hope Amazon.ca puts him up for pre-order soon. As for Yellow, I don't mind the female body and I'd rather not go through the hassle of trying to get my hands on an exclusive for a marked up price either. I'm also with the group who has a stronger attachment to MMPR then Zyuranger but to each their own!

On another note, received Blue Rose today and I have to say she is a great looking figure.

It took some time getting used to posing her though as her limbs feel so thin and fragile and the figure itself is so small being a female character. Her hands were a little difficult to swap and I couldn't for the life of me remove her face to change her expression. The joints moved smoothly but are able to hold poses well. Given her heels, she does need the stand for her to properly stand although it is possible for her to stand by herself though it would take a bit of fiddling and the risk of her falling and breaking something are pretty high. She doesn't come with a lot of accessories, 3 alternate face expressions, 3 pairs of hands, 2 guns, 2 holstered guns and 2 empty holsters.

I'm really glad I got her and I think she's a great figure but wouldn't really recommend her unless you're a big Tiger and Bunny fan. Now to see if Dragon Kid will be worth getting when she comes out...also should probably get a proper Wild Tiger figure..

Why do yellow toku heroes always have axes?

That axe is mammoth rangers weapon, it comes with tiger ranger because this one is used for the combination of their weapons

Oooooh! Still wondering how the weapons will combine. Where are Yellow & Blue's weapons going to clip on? Looks like Tyranno's sword clips where it should.
