I believe that's because they are comparing them to the current Samurai minifigs.

The Gosei Helmets do make the figures look better. I think it's the mouth.

The kits look nice, but I preferred the old Samurai style minifigs :(

Megazord looks fun, will probably buy.

Really? The pictures make it look like the elbows are at the same slightly bent angle that any off-brand mini thing has. Same thing for the knees. Unless these are prototypes...
