Yoshiki Takaya has mentioned in an interview that The Guyver was heavily influenced by the Kamen Rider series; hence some similarities to BLACK.

I actually just started on Black myself. Someone pointed me in the direction of Century Kings subs and damn I've been enjoying myself ever since. It's a good, if a bit dated series.

What made Black and RX awesome was definitely the actor Tetsuo Kurata. On top of being a good-looking man, he had a hell of voice and rather physical in his role as Minami Kotaro. Hell, as Kotaro, he gets tossed around quite a bit before he Henshins.

There was a fire about him. His voice carried that fire very well.

Fortunately or unfortunately, that fire was toned down significantly in RX when Kotaro's character became a lot more...easy-going. To say the least.

Henshin Fever. But it's actually just streams of CK's subs.

Speaking of which, episode 49 was released today. Only two more to go.

Century Kings have finally finished this legendary series! Big Thanks to them! I DL a couple of raw eps many years ago and its a treat to finally know whats going on!

initially i just wanted a Figuart of Black (thanks to Vangelus) but ive recently gone off the deep end and bought RX, Shadow Moon and a Souchaku Henshin Battle Hopper Acrobatter set. i felt the need to justify ther purchases by watching the show, and im definitely glad i did! im up to ep 5, but i have a feeling i will truck through it and watch it all. shame about RX series not being as good, however i cant seem to find subs of it, anybody got a lead?
