How in the world did they intend it as a upgrade to the original rangers? It sounds so bizare
|
The only reason I dont like the mega mode is that the actors are less animated and more stiff in them.It doesnt let them move around and express feelings as easily.I mean their faces are hidden so they have to express it through motions.
Would been cooler if they did something like Jungle Fury. When they got their Master modes, only thing that changed was they got boosters(which were small but worked),white replaced the black color, and they got small shoulder pads. But yet you still realized they were more powerful and they could move the same amount. They even looked cooler.lol That and the megasword. Why use a new one when the old one worked fine.Im guessing its so kids dont go around stabbing the shinkenmaru down into their parents sofa pretending its the megazord cockpit.lol |

They use new footage in the Megazord fights to make them more appealing because Zords toys are harder to sell in the US which is why they only use Mega Mode and Battlizer in that footage. The Rangers sale fine on their own, but to get the kids excited (myself included) to see the Ranger's new their form in the final show down within their Zords. Making that part of the show more appealing when it use to be boring and rushed in some seasons. |
In short - the "Mega Mode" exists because of a toy/marketing partnership with Saban Brands and Bandai of America. The action figures sell MUCH BETTER than the MegaZords do to kids. It's actually marketing genius.

Even now as an adult, I still get more excited to see a SH Figuarts figure from a Sentai series, than I do seeing a DX mecha. |
