I love this, just plain LOVE IT. I went back through and I feel like an idiot for thinking the Phantom Ranger was Billy, plain and simple NO. I retract my opinion of that.

Were the mecha destroyed in CarRanger the same way as in Turbo or was that strictly US footage we got?

I honestly don't know, I'd have to go back and look at the show. I can usually decipher between Sentai and Power Ranger footage. But considering the suit was brought over (specifically for filming the Turbo movie) it wouldn't surprise me if it was actually American footage.

I don't think the mecha in Sentai gets destroyed very much at the end of their respective series ... at least, they don't fall apart anymore, they "magically disappear in a poof of colored energy" these days.

Seeing the Tigerzord's head fall off was freaking horrifying when I was younger.

I could not tell you either, but that last battle was edited so the out come is different from what happened in Carranger. I've been watching this stuff my whole life, since 10 years old now 28 non stop lol! I can spot a re-edit on the first viewing lol! *so sad* SHM...

But watching Super Sentai does sometimes help answer those WHY questions.

At least Saban back then didn't just super impose an actor in to the Japanese footage like they've done with "Kevin" in Power Rangers Super Samurai, specifically the episode "Kevin's Choice".
