Ryuga probably didn't get hit directly.
The sword did damage to the armor, which directly linked to Ryuga's eyes.
So they are permanently "magically" damaged.

I've been suspecting the same thing.

Didn't Takeru cut his hand off while wearing the armour?
I assume if you can do that, having a sword embedded in your face is going to have the same effect.

Pretty good episode, but I am really hoping we get to see the armor finally go gold in the next episode.

BTW, who is Sonshi's actor?

If only Ryuga can get a blind fight with Sonshi, that would be awesome. Too bad though, episode 20 pretty much confirm this isn't gonna happen

I've seen that movie and that particular fight scene rocks. Wow so he's the same actor huh? Nice!

We can finally see the growth in Ryuga from this brash, hotheaded guy to a driven, determined warrior who won't let anything stop him.

Having Zaruba back as Garo's mentor brings a lot of nostagia from the first 2 series back. I really miss that little guy as his sidekick.

Speaking of growth, both Takeru and Aguri put aside their differences and work together with Garo as a team. Given both Ryuga and Takeru's grievous injuries, I'd say Aguri got off super easy though.

Is it just me or does anyone else think Sonshi intentionally let Garo have the sword? I mean he didn't put up much of a fight with Aguri and he backed off as soon as Garo lifted the sword.

I guess I am a perv, but after Tousei told Rian that she will bear children for the Z monster (forgot its name), images of Hentai swirled in my head. I hope it won't involve tentacled monsters lol.
