I thought early rpm made a vague reference to previous power rangers and that Ziggy thought the new 3 were cool. But maybe I'm remembering wrong

It's possible. I haven't actually seen the show since it first aired. I just don't remember any reference to the previous teams.

Its true. In the second half of the pilot Ziggy tries to explain to Dillon what power rangers are. This would then lead us to believe there were or at some point either rangers predeceasing RPM or somehow when the universe went to pot and split in two part of that world remains in the minds of the humans.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is, Tzachor likes to treat each and every season as it's own seperate universe even MMPR seasons 1 to 3.
