I would have to disagree on one of you-guy's speculation of why Saban is skipping Go-Buster.
First off, Shinkenger did not suck LOL! Second, before I get into this, the comment on Super Megaforce using the RPM powers "out of context". I don't think they need to mention anything about that because that is being saved for the actual tribute for RPM. If anything, in this episode they should have mentioned how they knew about S.P.D. seeing that team is from the future. RPM "HAS" to be an alternate world just because of how the show played out. No one knew if Saban was going to pick up the show again after RPM, so it was written as an ending series much like how Power Rangers in Space was suppose to be "the end". The entire world was taken over by robots, so either you have to write an explanation as to where the Power Rangers were during that time, zap them to the future before the Time Force era (after SPD) or say they are from an alternate world. Yeah the option for another planet is there, but it's obvious that there is some unspoken rule that the Rangers have to protect Earth. So playing off Go-Onger's many parallel words is not a bad idea, it gives the possibility of the MMPR movie being in cannon of the RPM universe "maybe". Or even Super Sentai being in cannon with Power Rangers now that alternate worlds exist. RPM and Samurai met so it's not like they are saying it never happened. ANYWAY... Shinkenger was split into to season using the Super Samurai Modes not the Mega Modes which were only used in the zords (in both seasons), even the Mega Modes had a Super Mode (Super Mega Mode). "I just realized that Samurai and Megaforce both have Super Mega Modes LOL!" Go-Buster also had super modes in the Powered Custom which could be used for it's "Super Season". Shinkenger has 3 main Megazords and 6 auxillary zords. Go-Buster has 3 main Megazords and 2 auxillary zords, one of which can become it's own Megazord. Shinkenger had a collectible gimmick in the Hidden Disks and Go-Buster had nothing. It was only starting in Megaforce that Bandai started to nurture the "side gimmick", ignoring it in the Samurai and RPM toy line. I don't think that skipping Go-Buster had anything to do with the toy line. If anything it's plays hard into Zord Builder feature. I'm assuming they are playing off the MMPR nostalgia with "Dino Rangers" and using Dino Charge and afterwards possibly using Go-Buster after Dino Supercharge is over. And then moving on to ToQger or whatever will be after that. Not saying that Dino Charge will be another MMPR callback but just the fact that they are both dinosaur teams. Bandai is always making up new toys to put into their show so I don't think toys are the sole reason for skipping the show. |
