What's that?

It's explained in the first post of this thread. It's also in the name of this thread and the front page post the thread is linked to. It's the show VR Troopers footage was taken from.

Yeah, but she wasn't actually from Metalder. VR Troopers combined footage from Metalder, Spielban, and eventually Shaider. I never saw more than a few minutes of it myself, but I can't imagine how any of that could have possibly been seamless.

Far from it. VR created a shared plot from the footage, but there's a significant age gap in the various footage used so the transitions are far from seamless. The Spileban footage worked out okay for Kaitlin and JB as they just used as much footage of Spielban & Diana Lady together as they could for it. But I'm really really surprised they were able to stretch what was there across two seasons. But there was definitely reuse.

The thing about Metalder though was that it was just so damn short. They only had so much to use before they had to write something else in, hence the Shaider footage for season 2. But there's a stark contrast between the Shaider footage from 1984, the Spielban footage from 1987, and the original VR footage made in 1994.

Give the show a watch some time if for nothing else than to see the zany way 3 programs were spliced together ala the Robotech formula.

Plus it's an all around fun show. It's probably become my favorite of the non PR toku adaptions from Saban.

The Battle Grid suits. Those are what sell me on the ridiculousness of that show. Those ugly hodgepodge monstrosities :lol
