Seems to be mostly a personal preference. Sentai mecha usually aim at a lower age group, though, so it's not surprising they choose the aesthetics they did.

I'm already looking forward to next year's designs. ToQOh was a blast and one of my favourite toys of the year.

Honestly, I like my mecha units to have three to six steps just to form its component. Sure, I give ToQGer a bye because Trains, but that's it:

There isn't a lot you can do with trains and twisting and KEEP it looking like some trains. The rumored jets would be cool if we get something like a twin-tail torso that has a pair of stunt planes form the arms and some leg armor.

I hope the jets follow the same concepts from jetman/timeranger.

Jetman's mech sucked shit so hard that I don't think I've seen a worse mecha...

This. Actually, quite a few of the pre-Daijyujin... Daizyujin... Dino Megazord mecha aren't too stellar.

You act as if most modern Sentai mechas are Go-Onger-ish...when they're really not.

I like jetman mechas and there's nothing wrong with them.We have some improvements during the years !!!

Do you guys think there's a difference between liking the Mecha in the show vs liking the toy of the Mecha? I wanna say there is, but I'm not 100% sure.

I think so yeah. I heard of people that dont care for ToQ-Oh as a toy but like the overall look of him in the show (same goes for Diesel-Oh).

For me it happened with Puteraiden-Oh. I like that mecha alot in the show but wasnt really impressed by its DX toy.
