At least ToQGer did a good job making Zed appear early, the other show just make final boss revives in the last act.

I like what they're trying to do with Ninninger but a LOT of it feels really forced.

There's NO reason for Kasumi to NOT have shared the Yokai's plan at the first opportunity, and trying to explore Kasumi's backstory as a student/aspiring scientist with her mostly offscreen doesn't really work at all.

I think they're trying way too hard for some of the comedy moments too.
