Wow, thank you! That really means a lot. I really enjoy reading your posts too. Even when we disagree it's always interesting to hear detailed explanations of why people feel the way they do about something.

There are little bits here and there that I'm also not a fan of (Takaharu being one example, but I am happy to see he's been somewhat scaled back in the last few months) but yeah the lacklustre villain stuff is definitely my main issue.

Kyuuemon has been an absolute joy, but even there I feel like the show isn't exploring it enough. He's clearly got his own motives which I'm happy not knowing now and waiting to see play out, but the other villains (I can't even remember their names, which goes to show how little impact either have had on me) don't feel like they're doing anything about it. Last week had that little moment where Kyuuemon was confronted about it, but it's mostly seemed to be waved off. Right now it feels like they should be considering him a bigger threat than the Ninningers themselves, but I don't feel like they even care.

But yes I get what you mean. Ninninger definitely has a certain energy about it that embodies Super Sentai, I just don't think that it's being presented in a way that's to my tastes. One thing I will say about the show is that even though I don't think it's that great it's holding its cards so close to its chest in terms of overall story I feel I have to watch it through to the end just to get a proper opinion on it.

Go-Busters is cool. I totally like it. But that show is Sentai as Frankenstein monster, an assembly of disparate ideas and inspirations that is definitely worth watching, but often quite frustrating.

Maybe I wasn't being fair enough to Go-Bus. Honestly, I won't be able to compare Ninninger to it favorably or otherwise until Ninninger ends.

Fair enough. And I do recognize the possibility that the whole show could fall apart in the next ten+ episodes. But here's hoping the opposite happens! :lol

they could've removed that turning into a monster act and made him found this power somewhere and still they won't be missing a thing

overall i liked the episode and the finisher/music.

They're never gonna get rid of Kinji like that. He's too popular.

I remember people wanted him to become a monster and the main 5 would have to take him out, and I ask myself "why?" That just seems like a desperate attempt to be edgy.

at the very least make it dramatic/hard obstetrical that those happy go lucky 5 has to go throw to get him back

While I haven't seen very many Sentai, and most of what I've seen has been older so I might not be making a totally fair comparison here...but Ninninger's villains have more of a plan than a lot of villains that i've seen. Vyram's plans amounted to nothing more than "hey let's come up with a lame way to beat the Jetmen this episode" and Jetman is seen as one of the best in the series. Like I said though, I haven't seen any of the newer stuff aside from Ninninger, so things could have changed. But the Kibaoni squad are both trying to stop the Ninningers AND resurrect their leader, which already is better than a lot of villains i've seen. Most just want to destroy the enemy team and take over the world.

Also...how in the heck did they summon Shurikenjin? Wasn't it destroyed?
