For me, it's a two part thing. Part one is costumes and aesthetics. Part two is the actual story/plot. Part one kind of 50/50. Part is on hold until the show actually airs. Remember that old saying "Never judge a book bye it's cover."

Like somebody else said, ToQger looked kind of stupid but ended up getting good reviews, while Ninninger's designs are awesome but the reception has been kind of meh.

I'm excited for one reason: it's different. Probably won't be Go-Busters different, but maybe it'll shake things up a bit.

I may watch the first episode, but after the last few years I've come to accept that Super Sentai just ain't for me.

Um... there is more to a show than what it looks like, man. I'm not much of a toy collector, so the blurry catalog images do little to sway me one way or the other.

THAT SAID.

The new, clear images that were released earlier today have done a lot to amp up my excitement levels. There's gonna be some cool gimmickry with multiple-animal form changes for the heroes, and that is NEW, and new is exciting to me.

I think we can also get a hint from the new images that 8-bit video games will likely be a part of the story (I'm mean, look at Cube Kirin, it's literally a Mario block with an exclamation point printed on it). It's potential story details like that which get me excited, not what the mechs or costumes look like. (Though for what it's worth, I think the mechs and costumes look cool.)

I am interested in how the rangers will be and what the villains will be like

I love the suit designs, but I'm not a fan of the cube thing. It'll probably grow on me. I'm still excited to see how it turns out.

It doesn't matter though. What we see is what's in the show and it looks like shit. I wouldn't be able to see these things in action, I'd practically feel embaresed. Like how the hell does Sentai go from being really good to just sucking ass in 3-5 years? I've felt the same during most of ToQger and Ninninger. It's just a huge dissapointment, like how does the demographic they try to reach for feel like it keep on getting younger at an exponential rate.

Sure it matters. Designs don't actually tell you anything about the story, tone, action or anything like that. You learn some things about its motifs and you can infer some things from it, but they tell a pretty incomplete picture. Who the heck could predict how Gaim would turn out from seeing some pictures of samurais wearing fruit armor? (Not the same franchise, same principle though). Designs don't make a series. Good designs are always nice, but they're unlikely to be the things that make or break something. We don't even have a premise for this show, so to just write it off completely at this point is pretty brash imo.

If it sucks at least I got the option of not having to watch it so I will gve it a go.
We had samba dinos, Tom Hanks as a sentai team, and a ninja sentai that kicked stealth to the curb so I'm game for anything at this point.
