Well, this was definitely an episode of Kamen Rider Ghost.

It honestly felt like not much really happened, even if we did get to see Alain's dad for the first time (anyone know who the actor is - he looks familiar). Other that that, though, it's pretty much just the same thing that happened last week. Makoto is still brainwashed, Kanon is still looking for him, Takeru is still being indecisive, Akari is still dressing like it's 1990, etc. Pretty boring overall.

Also, is it just me, or does Makoto being entirely mute and barely doing anything honestly not feel super different from what it was like when he had free will?

The part with Sanzo's three disciples was really cool, but the cloud getaway part left me clueless. Does Sanzo have any relation to clouds or was there no reason for that?

Kind of. Sanzo is also the name of the Priest in "Journey To The West". He meets the Monkey King Son Goku, who flies around on a cloud.

Thane Camus is his name. He was Ring in Zero Black Blood and he was a MotW in Makai no Hana not Gold Storm. He was in the episode that debuted Crow's Makai Armor (ep. 5 I think).
