I'm considering it, but I don't have the strength of will. Perhaps later, I'll give you the rant you deserve.

I don't dislike Kabuto, but I've found that - for me, at least - it was intensely forgettable. Most of the time if I'm thinking about the 00s Rider show my brain goes "Okay, so we had Hibiki and then Den-O... no wait, there was that other one in there, too: whatchamcallit." It's really weird because I actually enjoyed Kabuto a lot at the time and found Tendou's assholishness to be incredibly entertaining.

Anyway, for my own rant:

Toei needs to get their heads out of their asses and finally give us a proper female secondary or tertiary Rider. Someone who's around for most of the show and contributes as much to the plot and action as a G3, Garren, Necrom, etc. A female Rider who can hold her own in a fight using proper martial arts with no cutesy sound effects or "adorable" clumsiness. One who has her own suit that isn't repainted or repurposed from a male costume and isn't full of "girly" features (so no pink, no pastels, and no schoolgirl costume elements). One who doesn't fucking die by the end of the series. Seriously, Toei, it's 20-goddamn-16; it's about time you stopped pretending that women can't be heroes.

I never got why males got big heavy armor and the girls got small skimpy armor. Both are equally capable of fighting so both should be able to wear the same amount of armor, also females don't have to wear skirts with EVERYTHING.

I don't think a pink female Rider should be an issue. We had Raia and we're getting Ex-aid. And as a woman, I don't think the 'It's 2016' thing works here. Japan is still strict with gender roles. It's like demanding a married gay couple in the next KR, because gay marriage is illegal in Japan

Aw yeah, time for some conflicting opinions!

I really really really like Fourze, so I'll admit my perspective is hardly objective, but complaining about the characters being stereotypes is completely missing the point! I hear people who didn't like Fourze say this particular complaint all the time and it really annoys me.

The whole series is about high school and friendship and stuff like that so they deliberately made the side characters a group of archetypes as part of "don't judge a book by its cover" sort of message. Shun and Miu, for example, are very stock "popular kid" characters who appear to be total a-holes only to turn out to be perfectly nice people. Even Gentarou dresses like a stereotypical Japanese delinquent straight out of a million other shows and movies.

I can give you that they aren't particularly deep characters, but when is anybody in Rider, really? The characters don't go through a ton of change, but their relationships do, and that's what the show was about. Kengo is the best example, since over the course of the show he goes from outright disliking Gentarou to having a rocky but understanding friendship and by the end of the show they're basically best pals, and it all happens in a surprisingly gradual, realistic way for such an over-the-top show.

Yeah, but Tendou doesn't have the hidden depths that Takumi has. Takumi is a guy who's a jerk to people because relationships kind of scare him, whereas Tendou is just a giant d*** the whole show, and not even the other characters know what his deal is.

It's no big deal though, everyone knows Kagami's the real hero here.

Because it used to get pretty hyped up? I wasn't actually around when it was airing or anything, but I used to see people talk about how totally cool and awesome and stylish Kabuto was a lot, and I figure people who watched the show hearing all that were disappointed to find out how mediocre a lot the writing can be, sweet slo-mo fights be damned.

Okay, so even I'm not crazy enough to respond to all of that but let me see if I can't clear a few things up.

A.He was having a bit of an existential crisis at the time and I think the idea was they believed he'd end up on the side of good.
B.Who cares?! No but seriously, the same place as all the other Ganma crap. They built it. Igor even has his own knockoff version.
C.He was having a bit of an existential crisis at the time and I think the idea was they didn't want him using their power until he got his crap back together.
D.CG is expensive, just ask GataKiriBa.
E.The point is that for how cool and in control they look, they're both kind of losers who need to do some growing up. Alain obviously did, and Javert has gotten a couple pep talks from the apparently useless Onari.

Because Tsukasa is one of the most fun protagonists in Kamen Rider and any amount of aborted plot-lines and watered-down parodies of way better shows makes it all worth it.

So? Houdini didn't have wings at the ending of his debut fli-er...fight. Just have Specter only use the wings when necessary and have him fight without them, like Hyper Kabuto's HCU mode, or TaJaDor's wings. Boom, Houdini gets used for actual fights and the CGI then goes into the explosions
