Galvantua, did Ben 10 get better? I watched up until they made Ben a spoiled brat again in Alien Force (the episode when Kevin becomes Metamorpho) and stopped watching it from there because it seemed like they just threw out all his development over the first 26 episodes of the series.
Ribi, what is Tiger & Bunny? I keep seeing this mentioned on various boards in the Figuarts thread, but I have yet to know what exactly it is. Is it on tv? What is so great about it? Anyway, there were some good choices in your guys list. I loved MegasXLR and Spectacular Spider-Man. Unfortunately, I never bothered to watch Sym-bionic Titan because I just had this feeling it woudl be cancelled and I am tired of getting into a series that ends up getting cancelled (like the new Thundercats). |
Ben 10 does get a little better past the time skip, but not by much. I think they realized that tying everything (Literally, everything) into being aliens wasn't well received and reintegrated the manmade technology and magic powers again.
But at that point, Ben would never lose and the only reason to watch fights were to hear Kevin's quips. Tiger and Bunny is a superhero anime that has the heroes being sponsored by real world companies. It ended last year. It was pretty good, but kinda falls out the "Western animation" bracket :lol |
Not in order

Ultimate Alien's a good series, but suffers from inconsistent characterization. One episode will have Ben being really mature, but the next he'll be a brat again. While story is its weakest point we got some really good characters from this series(Captain Nemesis, Jimmy, and Sir George are good examples) As Matrixbeast brought up before Ben doesn't really lose much anymore. I've come to accept that as something that happens with a show meant for teenagers. The Ultimate Forms are the highlight of Ultimate Alien, but they were not well received by some fans due to the fact they took up time that other aliens could have used. Having every little thing be alien related was controversial. It's nice that Omniverse will bring back human tech and magic so we'll get a little more variety in the storytelling. Plus Derrick J. Wyatt is onboard for this show as well and the stuff he does is really well done. The thing I'm really happy for is that Gwen and Kevin aren't following Ben around all the time in Omniverse. Gwen's gotten a little annoying and Kevin, while he has his moments, can be a bit borish. Rook may be a character that clicks better with the audience as he may conterbalance Ben's hotheadness with his Plumber training and cool headedness. |
I was going to make a this topic until I found this one. My top 10 favorite non Japanese animated shows would be.
1. Spawn: HBO animated series (Not just because I'm a fan of the comics. It's a great show in general) 2. Space Ghost Coast to Coast 3. Megas XLR 4. The Simpsons from 1989 - 1998. 5. Beavis and Butt-Head 6. The Maxx 7. South Park 8. Liquid Television 9. The Boondocks 10. Batman: TAS HM: Æon Flux Animaniacs (Almost made it on the Top 10) Aqua Teen Hunger Force Black Dynamite Castlevania Futurama (Before the newer episodes) Invader Zim King of the Hill Metalocalypse Phantom 2040 Rick & Morty The original Ren & Stimpy Rocko's Modern Life Samurai Jack (Almost made it on the Top 10 list) A lot of people here like the 90's Marvel cartoons, but I found them to age like milk in my opinion. I can't enjoy them anymore even with nostalgia mode at the max. |
