Definitely can't wait for the renewal in 2017. However, I do like this Figuart.

I was furious when mine broke. I'd only had it for a few days when it happened. Took me roughly a year to track down a replacement that was cheap enough for me to feel comfortable buying it a 2nd time.

But I've been trying to find the old Action Works Saibarian for my Gavan for a long time too. And the renewal SHF is like a dream come true. Getting both at once is the optimal situation for me.

If there's one thing I like about this design, it's the chrome. Shame about the issues. Reminds me a lot of the early Ultra Acts that were plagued with problems.

The designs flaws on this figure are a real shame. It's fortunate that it appears to have not turned consumers off the Metal Hero SHFs altogether as at least they're still happening now with some regularity despite a blunder from the onset.

While I totally get the fingerprint complaint and even inaccuracies of it, I do still like the idea of the chrome finish of him. It's just kind of pretty.

To be honest, I think all of my problems with this figure come from the design of the suit. It seems to perfectly replicate Gavan in figure form, but I just don't like the chrome and the design seems kind of plain. I would say "I'm sure people who love Gavan would love this" but then there's the design flaws you mention on top of it. Hopefully a new one fixes these issues like you said.

Figure looks great. I agree that it probably could have turned out better with silver paint. It's weird that there's so many design flaws as its a more recent figure.

Have it, love it. And 2 years later none of my chrome has come off. It's an amazing figure.
