Yeah I'm not too big on having another plotline centered Lucky's father. I feel like we already resolved that story and I was really hoping this new villain would have some more of a connection to Garu, perhaps being the one responsible for the death of his people. I will say that scene where Lucky used his teleportation powers to make the MOTW get hit by his own attack was pretty cool.

With such a large cast of 12 rangers, it's almost a shame they did not have the balls to let Garu be killed for real in front of Lucky. This would have ramp things up for the final arc.

Killing main character is not so frequent in Sentai, now that I think about it.

Well from this episode Tsurugi might not have much longer left on him.

I can't actually put my money where my mouth is here since I didn't mention it at the time, but it honestly seemed pretty clear from how casually it was revealed he "died" that Lucky's dad wasn't actually dead. I'm not particularly huge on the idea of this plotline either, but I definitely think the show has done a good job on building up to this during the last stretch. It'd be way crazier for them to have only like, two episodes and one recurring flashback about him and just call it a day there.
