Uh ... no. Most people who drink alcohol don't go assaulting people. Even the drunk ones. All alcohol does is impair judgement and loosen inhibitions. If someone does something terrible while drunk, they're usually not good people when sober either.

I definitely feel that as a tokusatsu fan, you sometimes must separate your enjoyment of an actor in their role from the actual actor. This is certainly not the first time something like this has happened to a well-liked actor and we don't HAVE to defend them, but we can also still enjoy the show just fine. Remember when the guy who played Super-1 told his fans he was in desperate need of money and then ran off with the cash? We can still enjoy Super-1!
