Cause it's timing sensitive. Really only works on key anniversary moments to start it, and needs the backing of wide material.

With Hasbro being both a toy company and entertainment company they can inhouse sync the info and marketing.

Whereas Saban would have had to balance more with Bandai. Barely had the rights back long enough to do something like this for the 20th to coordinate it, and overall it works better to start it on the 25th anniversary.

If it wasn't sold to Hasbro, they likely would have looked into doing this for this year too as a starting point.
