I’m half convinced that the page with all the Trinoids (the ones that look like deformed animals) was actually used in a movie as a catalogue of all the Trinoids on record (the bad guy was planning to revive the original one under his control)

You know this particular issue is old when Matrix Revolutions, Finding Nemo, Underworld, Bulletproof Monk, The Last Samurai, and Kill Bill are considered fresh movies. :lolol

Yo, those are awesome. I bought a hyper hobby magazine when I was in Japan, which has some similar content...but this is even better because of the era.

I'm trying to make sense of all the older shows this thing reveals!
Every mention of Booska reminds me of the Halloween episode of R/B. Most of Zero's team, Ultimate Force Zero, originates from older heroes (though the page with most of their progenitors includes Triple-Fighter, which doesn't correspond exactly unless Saga is meant to be an oblique reference). Aztekizer looks like he's a ripoff of Akumaizer 3! Koseidon makes me wonder if Tsuburaya and Toei have had legal issues (cause "Kyoryu Sentai" is more synonymous with Zyuranger)! The Andro Melos photo looks like the heroes are surrounded by slightly modified, human-sized Ultra Kaiju! Shame they couldn't find what they needed for Mill Creek. Would really like Toho to re-release Gransazer for U.S. distribution! |

Ahhh ~ ! I was so happy to see that page with my Nao-chan! I've been supporting her as an idol/actor since, well, since Hurricanger came out, and it's just lovely seeing her here again too.
I super loved seeing these pages. I remember seeing scans back in the day of that Sailor Moon issue of Newtype. If you do scan them, I will definitely be grateful as it means I get to make myself new SM icons for Dreamwidth. :p |
