Thanks for the information! Lots of stuff I didn't know about, and looking into the series, it certainly sounds interesting. Curious to see Anno's take on this.

Having seen the show I would like to add that the pacing could feel slow by today's standards but the technical side of the show kind of mitigates that, I think.

Thunderbirds is British, no? Maybe we'll get Shin Dr. Who next. Or for stuff outside of Japan that is popular there, Shin Minions. Shinions, if you will.

That being said, it's cool to see him working on so many things. I'm guessing this means that Shin Ultraman turned out well, and Shin Kamen Rider is likely going smoothly...because why would they hire him if those productions were a mess?

So, from what I can tell, this isn't quite a full movie (which is a shame, Thunderbirds could use one of those that isn't bad), it's a re-edit and update of some compliation Anno made of Thunderbirds back in the 80's which was released on Japanese Video tapes. Which is still neat he's being given the chance to do that. but it's not quite the next Shin Ultraman

Imagine Shin Fist Of The North Star but it's just a re-edit that emulates Anno's private recordings of when the anime aired on TV. It would have stuff like random VHS tracking that distorts it just because Anno's copy had them at that precise moment in the show. :lolol
