The 1971 show is 98 episodes. They will either release it in two parts or in one big set. It won't afforable to have all 98 episodes on Blu-ray.

I do not think that anyone will be against these options. Anyway, since the Riders have already been taken up, someday they will have to release the original source.

Unfortunately this is going to more than likely be region locked like the Zero One Blu-Ray set, with no Region B distributor in sight. I wonder if this is due to Shout Factory, or due to Toei's licensing terms? The Ultraman Blu-Rays from Mill Creek work just fine in other regions. Still great for fans in NA and other Region A countries.

They could release the 1971 series in SD on Blu-Ray, in order to keep the number of discs down and keep it affordable. Maybe they could then release a separate HD release, perhaps as some sort of a collector's edition? It would be cool if they could also include the movies as well, but maybe that's asking a bit too much. :p Maybe release a separate set of the Showa movies?
