Otherwise, Ryuki was the one where the target of revival was actually named Yui, with also the main character who aren't so sure of himself being named Shinji.

The obnoxious part is about Sara endlessly repeating her talk about Neon to Keiwa like her family situation (in ep. 3). Regarding Neon it seems that she won't stop steering things towards her own interests no matter how little anyone else cares about them, keep making every stray comment some way to talk about Neon. Like Sougo endlessly talking about being king. But then again, you're someone who's "guilty" of that too about toku as you admitted...

I wouldn't want to paint her in a bad light like some people regarding this, but would you think that true love is a wish that actually can be obtained without the help of a supernatural power? Which can seem as if it's wasteful. Though I'm annoyed too against those who still only interpret this as solely romantic where "she can just download Tinder", even when, it extending to other kind of love like familial is no longer headcanon as shown in ep. 21 and ep. 25.

I actually called it, though there are already people making theories about Akari actually dying from the kidnapping and Neon being a replacement wish, which were an accurate prediction. But the reason I called it is because of how many females are given this treatment throughout all the KR franchise - though admittedly I expected Tsumuri to get this treatment more as the mysterious one, while Neon's the one who has a role as a Rider but more "normal" (again, like several previous series) but it's actually Neon too for now.

While it's tragic what Irumi had to go through, I still don't like her.

What's even more intimidating about this is that while angered, Geats still maintains his composure on the outside. Is there any state more dangerous to the opponent than a berserk character who is also completely in control of his mind and body? Ace sure is wired differently!

Like the other future guys, it seems that Kyuun also doesn't know how to express his emotions and just keeps saying the wrong things without thinking. Makes sense that his Rider form is a sphinx.

It's tough having a niche hobby like Tokusatsu, as people are more willing to talk about popular and familiar interests IRL. Not sure whether Neon being a streamer would be a name that carries as much weight as Ace's, but I can totally relate to Sara wanting to share her love of Neon with the closest person in her life. Not saying that Keiwa necessarily has to agree, but he should at least be supportive of his big sister's hobby, instead of trivializing it the way he does.

For sure, DGP is only one method of granting relatively simple desires like true love, but if Neon's prepared to gamble that desire and her life to obtain it, then I think that's her right. I imagine Win probably would've written a desire to become a famous rockstar if he had survived.

And yeah, true love can be any kind of love, all of which Neon is lacking in her life. She has a father who supports her desire, a mother who doesn't want to lose her, fans who love to watch her streams, but none of them love her as a person, except maybe Ace, Sara and Kyuun and yet out of those three, only Sara is actually honest about it.

If you're still hung up with Keiwa's reaction in first episode to not include him here, then I have to say here regarding him compared to Kyuun; Keiwa's honest and open to her without being mean about it (e.g. explaining how he figured out she was the DezaStar), versus Kyuun who went out of his way to be abrasive about it including making blatantly false but purely negative judgments about her.

Overall (also above helps) Neon is comfortable with Keiwa (though Keiwa did learn to not only offer her weak platitudes in ep. 4, but it was long ago) to spend a bit of downtime in his company, while Kyuun for obvious reason makes Neon uncomfortable whenever he shows up.

Keiwa doesn't hesitate to back her up (and for this Neon got some hate over ep. 22, even though.. DezaStar missions are forced, of which it seems to be ignored by people for some reason - and in this episode she also attempts to help him, which should show that her sabotaging him wasn't her taking him for granted but fulfilling game requirement), while Kyuun, although he's Neon's supporter, he hasn't actually gone out of his way to help her the way Ziin, Kekera, or even Beroba do for their Riders.

Keiwa being shown to accept Ace for who he is in this episode obviously will show that he'd be the same for Neon too.

Think I'm also saying this because while her future fans are terrible, I don't want for Kyuun's behavior to be validated either only because of the comparison to them. He's a tsundere for sure, but, tsundere is often an overlooked toxic trope where they regularly verbally/physically abuse people, typically the person they like, and it's actually an example of a story making their wrongdoings go unpunished (especially for females) and let them continue to be a problem for others, perhaps to depict the characters as "tough" or the scene as "comedic" (slapstick type). I also don't want for rude behaviors to be depicted as inherently being honest and blunt (including blaming anyone for being upset of being treated rudely as "snowflakes"), like Kyuun's to blindly take his words as gospel (like on ep. 22), or for other characters, people like Michinaga.

Sara is a part of "fans who love to watch her streams" so.... there should be potentially more for those who love her as a person among those fans (perhaps the fans who turned on her are future fans? because regular people are kept in the dark about the DGP) if you'd count Sara. And there's also Sae who love her as a person before too, Neon's the only Rider she's soft towards.

There's also Keiwa's self-righteous guilting behavior in Episode 8, where he expected Neon to put saving Sara over her desire for true love, which Ace and Michinaga were quick to call out. Neon already received similar guilting from Irumi after all. However, since his epic speech to Giroli in Episode 16, I think Keiwa has learned to accept people's right to choose what they will risk their lives for, no more trying to choose it for them. But that's an impersonal statement, directed at all DGP participants, not only Neon.

What makes me hopeful for Kyuun's development is that he's vaguely aware of his destructive tsundere habit, which is actually an uncommon good trait for tsunderes. He used the letter to say to Neon what he couldn't bring himself to say in person, like how people feel encouraged by anonymity. He feels bad for how he treated her and probably wants to become a true fan and friend that she deserves.

Sure, there's probably a lot of fans who would give all their love to Neon if given the opportunity. So far though, Sara's the only fan who developed a friendship with her, which Neon reciprocated by declaring herself a Sara fan. Sae could've been counted once, but then she lost her memories of meeting Neon after getting Retired. Regarding those bullies from the future, yeah, they totally suck. Neon deserves better than them.

I almost want to see fanart of Neon as an Organization XIII member after Daikaijuman made the reference.

Ok but like. Sara was gonna die if shit hit the fan. As in, the only family Keiwa really has left. Call me biased but as someone with a similar lack of family, I think it's a bit unfair to be harsher on Keiwa here than y'know, Kyuun the internet stalker who choses to be a dick in person.


I agree that it's good that Kyuun is at least somewhat aware of this, the supporter Riders all seem to have themes of parasocial relationships with Ziin going "Oh this is Bad, Actually", but as a woman on the internet who has been stalked and harassed for dumb shit like 'not liking a video game' I would outright dock points from Geats as a whole if Kyuun gets to be a friend of Neon. Too many kids shows seem to romanticize this idea that if a woman does not like you, simply pressure her in to giving up and letting you date them. Even if Kyuun's actually a much nicer guy than he has let on, it would still say "Hey kiddos be toxic to people you like, you'll win them over eventually" whether intentionally or not.


Also, god *damn* Laser Boost has grown on me immensely with this episode

Surely, it's about how Keiwa is inconsiderate to other's wish because he views them as too "small" or "selfish" compared to him using it for the world, and by that he thinks that it's ok to use the players as stepping stones to claim his own wish because he'd think wishes like those are insignificant to be lost.

But I'd defend the other Riders further, as this can still have some people insist that Keiwa is in the right and the others are scumbags for rejecting his plan, and anyone else must give in the game for actually significant wish like his... (as if you can't disagree with Keiwa or you're wrong for doing so, because everything he does is right by default, for him being the boy scout, and I don't like it if Keiwa's viewed as the only one who gives a shit about civilians). Keiwa's strategy sounds as if the other players act as a bait for Keiwa himself to kick the can and subsequently win the game.

Rejecting Keiwa's strategy doesn't mean neglecting the civilians, because for this case, the boss holds the civilians including Sara hostage, and they're going to fight the boss anyway. Keiwa later just went with the "quick" way of destroying the plant, instead of a harder one of taking down the whole boss. They could've found another way to defeat the boss (and saving the civilians in the process) without Keiwa's whole plan - of which somehow got missed completely, and of course the players have a right to choose what strategies they see fit (but I won't tolerate the strategies that involved being cruel to others regardless of "competitive game" excuse), instead of being reduced to "NPCs"/"supports"/"baits" via Keiwa's plan.

After seeing Geats having the looking final form since Ex-Aid, I figured I should try catching up again. The twist with Neon here was done great! When that flashback was first shown around the start of the show, I had a feeling that the memory of the kidnapping wasn't quite how it actually happened, since Takahashi seems to have a thing for that twist. My personal theory was that Neon had had a sister who was kidnapped, possibly died, possibly was never found. Certainly did not expect to sew a child's corpse carried out under a sheet and Neon as an artificial person! This was so much more well done than Patiant Zero Emu or that bizarre chip in Fuwa's head making him think he'd been at Daybreak Town thing
