a red Gavan? but... we already have Sharivan!

But this guy right here? He's Gavan and he's red. There's a key difference.

Alright that's it I'm going to Japan just so I can track down the people responsible for this and making them fear that entire section of the color wheel until the end of their days.

Huh, interesting. So basically, they're just expanding the scope of the Super Sentai series from a team of color-coded heroes with a giant robot to a red hero within whatever context they want to do that time around. So we might get more Sentai-esque teams in the future, but this allows more flexibility. Sounds promising.

I actually quite like the idea of say, five consecutive series with a differently colored protagonist becoming a Sentai - the MCU approach. It could definitely be cool, if done right. I really do hope the name isn't so literal that every new lead hero will be Red.

I know I already said this but the more I think about this the more it bothers me that this new series is all about red heroes. Sentai is ending, we have an opportunity for a clear break to move away from some of its restrictions, and we make a series about obligate red protagonists again. I don't even mind that they made Gavan red when Sharivan is right there, I'm just want visual variety.

Well, this aged poorly.

The new brand name is certainly honest, nobody will complain about the Red getting too much focus when that's the whole premise here, but the downside is that it only appeals to fans of the color red. Toei are basically saying, "If you happen to prefer blue, green, or some other color, then screw you!"

It'll be interesting to see how Gavan Infinity adapts such sci-fi concepts for the modern generation!

I think that while Gotchard's show wasn't everyone's cup of tea, it did a good job of showcasing the power of cards as gimmicks. Because they're so cheap, cards are bought in huge quantities, and fans are willing to spend a fortune to get a rare or personally desired card. Also, fans of jingles are forced to purchase transformation devices, unlike more expensive electronic gimmicks. So, it makes perfect sense for Toei to choose cards as the first step in her new venture. That way, even if the project receives poor reviews, at least commercial failure can be avoided.

You know what? I'll give this a shot, which is probably not something I'd say about another Sentai.

Not that I'm complaining, but the chest armor gave me Akiba Red vibes for a brief moment. :lolol
