Finally got around to watching this episode. The use of the bike was pretty darn cool, something I'd like to see more of in Kamen Rider.
I don't see where you guys are getting that Shunpei or Rinko will be riders. At most I can see Shunpei getting handed down a system of some sort, like Birth or IXA, but beyond that, it doesn't seem like they won't introduce a new character for the secondary rider, especially considering their track record.

The motorcycle chase scene was easily the best one i have seen out of the 4 Rider series i have seen , I was super juiced about that. I was impressed by the fight choreography also.

I actually think Shupei or Rinko may end up becoming a villain somewhere down the line myself.

Nah. Shunpei is just the support bro, like Kotaro from Blade or Keitaro from Faiz. Rinko is probably going to be a hybrid of the standard Rider girl and Ichijo from Kuuga.

Kuuga episode 4 is still, like, the greatest use a bike in Kamen Rider ever.

Good episode, love the opening, some the visuals remind me of Ryuki. Actually, everything Wizard has done so far has reminded me of another Rider, like the show is some bizarre hybrid of every Rider ever.

I disagree. The Kuuga episode with the bike riding Grongi and the episode of Blade with the Wolf Undead on the bike are the best.

I found myself enjoying this episode quite a bit, which is huge because usually the second episode can break a show from keeping me interested.

So far so good, really enjoying this. And yes ... need a SH Figuarts of Wizard *NOW*.

I thought it was a good episode overall. Great use of the bike, I like it when Kamen Riders actually use their bikes and I hope he uses it a lot. I wonder who that guy was that gave Haruto the WizarDriver. I'm thinking it might be that old guy, whose name escapes me. Rinko had some good moments as well as did the new guy...I'll remember these names eventually guys. I found it funny how he has a completely useless sleep spell. Also what was up with that lady, er man at the doughnut cart. Again I'm sad that I don't have a WizarDriver, and probably never will :( oh well at least there's always doughnuts...also I second that, Kickback. I would also like a figuart of Hellhound, but I know the chances of that getting made are about the same that I'll find a WizarDriver for under $100

Don't stress about it too much. You have a full year to try and get a hold of them, you'll get one eventually.

I'm thinking the secondary Rider will be a character we haven't been introduced to yet and they'll be science based. What I would really love though is if this series had 3-5 Riders, I miss the old days when you had more than 2 in the show and would like to see it happen every once in a while.

I'm with you on that, just have to wait until February/March.

I doubt that the secondary Rider is anybody we know so far. I don't know enough about Toku history, but how often have we seen regulars become Secondary Riders/Rangers? Usually it's somebody introduced for that sole purpose later on.

That was a really, really fun episode. I think this show will be great, especially if this keeps up.

Just one thing I have to say, is that warehouse/barn in EVERY Toei show? Seriously, it's like the go-to place for a "run-down, abandoned building" recently, so much so that it appeared in twice in a short span of time in Go-busters! I'm not complaining too much, but it's hilarious! :lol

Birth and Gattack are the ones that come to mind off the top of my head.

Honjou from Agito did wear the G3X suit into battle at one point, but I dunno if you could count that.

I can think of a few examples where secondary riders are characters that appear within the first few episodes.

Gills
Knight
Garren
Chalice
Gattack
Ixa

The key ones being Gills, Gattack and Ixa whose characters don't begin as riders. The others were riders before we as viewers even knew. I think it's possible that someone we've already seen will be the secondary. Though if Decade through Fourze are any indication it'll just be some written in character from halfway through the series :(

At least 3 of those are main riders that are only labeled secondary because they aren't in the title.

Personally, I think the magic nerd (Still haven't quite learned his name) will be a back up rider. A 3rd or 4th one that appears late in the show. Very much like Gattack. As for Rinko, part of me still hopes for a G series revival, but I won't be holding my breath.

I want a character like Rinko or Shunpei to become a rider because it will give them lots of growth and a lot to do, rather than slip into the background while the secondary rider hogs the spotlight to hawk more toys.

Look at the Yuusuke and the Grandfather in DCD, the (Already sparingly used) informants in Double, or the Rider Club in Fourze.
I don't want that happening to these characters in Wizard.

I'm perfectly fine with Shunpei fading into the background.

We still don't know how he'll turn out though. Unlikely though it might be, he might do a full 180 degrees change and become totally different. Or, his antics might endear us somehow eventually. We can hope, at least.

Because a character who doesn't immediately endear themselves to us is worthless right off the bat.
Come on. It's been 1 episode. Give the guy a chance to grow, develop, and change.

I'm willing to, but right now he reminds me a lot of Gai Ikari from Gokaiger in personality and "four-year-old-who-dresses-himself" fashion sense. I'd love to be wrong, but I hated that fanboy manchild character on Gokaiger and am not thrilled with seeing another one here.

But I think Gai's fault was that he was already a ranger before his actual appearance. I want Shunpei's to grow and mature over the series to culminate in him becoming a full fledged wizard, and this, a Rider.

Like in Blade, before all that Mutsuki business, when they had the Leangle Belt and Ace in hand, Kotaro briefly aspired to become a Rider to protect his sister and Amane. Part of me really wanted him to become Leangle, however brief. Those same feelings are now moving over to Shunpei.

Yeah. If you ignore the existence of the Blue Dolphin slip for the Twin Brace, the V-Changer Compact, Ptera Ranger's Dino Buckler coin, Ninja White's Doron Changer coin, the pink light on the Accelchanger, the pink button on the Gingabrace, Gao White's tiger attachment for the G Phone, Hurricane Blue's disk for the Hurricane Gyro, Abare Yellow's plate for the Dino Buckler, Magi Pink and Blue's cut outs for the Magiphone, the pink and yellow buttons on the Shodophone, the Gosei cards for Gosei Pink and Yellow(not to mention all the Dice-O cards for female senshi), and EVERY FEMALE SENSHI IN THE FORM OF A RANGER KEY, then we never get toys that change Japanese boys into girl characters! Oh wait. We still do, since those are just in Sentai... >_<

I know Kamen Rider is supposedly more popular than Super Sentai, but if this business model was so atrociously non-lucrative, then I think Toei/Bandai would've done a 360, oh I don't know... almost 25 years ago?

Aren't almost all of those part of a set, not individually sold and bought? If that's the case, then it doesn't exactly qualify, since a kid would be physically unable to buy the morpher without the female character's item.

At this point I'm just waiting for Haruto to fuse with the Dragon/Bike & form "Guymelef Stage."

That doesn't change the fact that Bandai has been putting money, as minimal as it may be, into enabling their transformation devices to represent the transformations of the female senshi.

...I've watched episodes of Ryuki, W, and Fourze, and they didn't manage to pull me in, but after watching the first two episodes of Wizard I think this'll be the show that finally pulls me into Kamen Rider. There's just something I like about this show that wasn't there for me in the other ones I watched. Maybe it's the designs, maybe it's the characters, I just can't put my finger on it. In any case, Haruto is much less... enthusiastic than Gentaro, and I love it. Gentaro's constant "I WILL BECOME FRIENDS WITH EVERYBODY!" thing got a bit overbearing.

Except that it's bundled with everyone else's morpher as well.
We're talking about a solo release belt, used to solely transform the female character. Not swappable plates.
It would be a different story if the there was a DinoBuckle that only came with the Pterodactyl coin, or a Magiphone that was solely for Pink or Blue.

well im two episodes in and i alredy love it, which is a big thing for me cause i never usually like a series till the finish, even ooo which is the best series out there took two watches of the series to appreciate it :l

Indeed, it's hard enough for female characters to get unique role play items that they don't have to share with the boys, or mecha that actually matter.

An egregious example is MagiRed, MagiYellow and MagiGreen all having unique transformations for their MagiStick, while MagiPink and MagiBlue are stuck with using them as wands. Even MagiMother, a unique character, gets a generic MagiStick with a snowflake ornament added on top, nothing compared to Wolzard's or MagiShine's arsenals.

DekaBright shares her arsenal with DekaBreak. The only female Sixth Ranger in history, Go-on Silver, has to be paired (a unique case in itself) with Go-on Gold, sharing all his tools.

Kamen Rider Nadeshiko and Kiva-la share transformations schemes with previous Kamen Riders, and even with their device alterations (e.g. two Switch slots on Nadeshiko instead of 4) we don't see DX toys of their henshin devices.

It's still a rather sad situation that hopefully Bandai will be brave enough to change. However, I have my doubts that we'll get any main female Riders soon.

I finally got to watch this one today at lunch. I really enjoyed it. The origin was about what I expected it to be, but it was well done. Hellhound made for a cool foe, and the fact that he had his own bike gave me Black Rx flashbacks.

I'm very much enjoying this show and am glad I decided to give it a shot. So far, I like Hurricane the most of the modes we have seen, but green is my favorite color, so no big shock there. I must admit a Figuart would look great posed with my Kamen Rider 1 FA!
